Name for Military Organization

Apr 29, 2008 11:19:37 I'm trying to come up with a name for a military organization in my homebrew Sci-fi setting. The organization is part of the major galactic government, and they are the good guys of the setting. I'd like the name to be like S.W.A.T.
where the first letter of each word can be used to form another word (I know theres a name for that but I can't remember it).

Can anyone help me?

F.I.S.T. = Fleet Insertion Strike Troops

Apr 30, 2008 9:01:01 The SPIES initially called some LOSER's & their PAL's to deal with a terror cell they discovered. Unfortunately, FOOL's were inserted at zero hour, and cried out for more CRAP at the LZ. The WATCH detected troop movements and was monitoring the situation, so they sent in the NEWB's to help. In the end, it came down to a giant OOPS fight.

Do they perform functions or missions the other services don't? Do they use a special kind of equipment or type of transportation? Are they a large organization or small? A special race maybe or do they specialize in fighting a particular enemy?

Certainly.

This organization is the primary military of the galactic government (Known as the Imperial Galactic Alliance). They are the army and navy(airforce?) combined into one entity. Their purpose is to protect all of human explored space. They don't use any special equipment other than what you would expect a PL 7 military to use.

There is one special enemy they fight, an alien race known as The Dusk, however they have only recently begun appearing in human explored space (recently as in the last few months.)
