Greetings, all.

I've been working for a few years now on some projects connected to Modern Campaign Options: Treasure Hunter, a rules supplement that I wrote for Emerald Press back in 2003-4. I'd hope that this new material would see the light of day, but the state of the market for D20 Modern is making that improbable. Because of this, I've started a new blog as a venue for releasing these new feats, organizations, adventures and more.

If you're interested, check it out:

I love it! I love that you're just getting this stuff out there. I mean, it sucks that it didn't turn into a job, but still, I'm in a similar situation myself. I never intended for Phoenix to make any money, so I'm happy to give it away, but past that, I'm also just trying to give it away. I love the idea that someone out there is playing a game I built and having a blast.

I like what I'm seeing in the feats, too. The ability to switch the Will save modifier is intriguing. It makes sense, it's not necessarily crazy powerful, and you have to pay a whole feat for it, so only those for whom it's really worth it would bother anyway. Nice.

Can you describe the basis of Momentum Kick? I can kind of see it in my head, but not quite. Is that one based on a particular cinematic moment?

I love Multiple Jump. Would you object to me integrating it into Phoenix? Also, I assume when you say it doesn't require another move action, than the character's speed still applies, right? The feat essentially means that you can move your whole speed in a series of jumps. Am I reading that right? You might like the feat Standing Jump in Phoenix. Just click the link; I don't post here because I don't want to lose the copyright.

Speaking of which, now that you're giving your stuff away, have you considered a Creative Commons license? It's a Copyright for people who want to give stuff away. Instead of just one Copyright statute, you have the option of mixing and matching several elements of intellectual property. I use the "share and share alike" CC combo. Anyone can reprint or distribute Phoenix or even create derivative work, but they have to cite me and they can never sell it. I don't post any of it here any more because I want to retain the CC, not because I want to invoke my own Copyright. I only just discovered CC, so the PDF below is still (C), but I'm switching over with the next iteration.

If you're in the states, the address for creative commons is <creativecommons.org/>. For Canada, it's <creativecommons.ca/>. I assume other sites are similarly named for other countries.

Oh, one last thing, check this out: . Things are tiny bit quiet right now because of the semester, but we can always use some fresh talent.

My most recent update is posted, an organizational description for the O.S.S. This'll be the first in a series that will include the Thule Gesellschaft and others.

DoubleAught, for what genre are you writing content?

Today's update is a few optional combat rules I've been considering; I'm curious to hear what you all think of them.
