Sorry if I'm making an unnecessary new thread, but I can't find the old Urban Arcana forum and the search isn't working too well for me (newest Firefox on Mac OS 10.5.5.) Feel free to merge me with something else if need be.

Anyway, I wanted to bring back the user-created magic items thread. Post a magic item that you create, with as much or as little gameplay detail as you please. Humorous magic items are especially encouraged. I'll start:

Fortune Cookie:

This tiny confection envelops a slip of paper which may be used to divine the future, or at least provide some insight into how to lead one's life. Fortunes are generally unspecific and open to interpretation, but if one heeds their words, thy can lead to some very lucky results. (GMs should feel free to write their own fortunes and determine how they are implemented in-game.) There has been much debate over the ages as to how the fortune cookie is activated (whether it's the touching of, breaking of, or eating of the cookie).

Conversely...

Misfortune Cookie

This item is similar to a regular Fortune Cookie, but each fortune has been inflicted with a horrible curse (GMs should come up with all manner of mishaps and poor advice that could be imposed on any tempter of fate.) In addition, Misfortune Cookies tend to be misshapen or stale, with a salty, bitter, or slightly burnt flavor.

Rubber Duckie

This vinyl-plastic waterfowl makes bathtime, and other ventures into water, lots of fun. When held in hand or as a neck-worn pendant, a Rubber Duckie provides a +1 morale bonus on swim checks.

Do you also get a bonus if you sing the Rubber Ducky song when holding or wearing the rubber duck?

I swear I have a german version of that song somewhere.. It sounds angry :P

Shielding umbrella

This undescript-looking black umbrella, when open and held above one's head, protects from getting wet during the rain. It can also protect wearer from bullits, providing cover against ranged attacks.
Medium creature using this umbrella gets a one-half cover against ranged attacks coming from a chosen direction (either a side or a corner of a battle grid square) when standing, and three-quarters cover when kneeling. Small creature gains three-quarters and full cover respectively, and large creature gets none or half cover. Creatures of other sizes can't use the umbrella efficiently.
A direction umbrella is facing can be changed once per turn as a free action, on your turn only.
Medium or large creatures may use umbrella with one hand, while small creatures are required to wield it two-handed.
It takes a move action to open the umbrella, and an attack action that requires two hands and provokes an attack of opportunity to collapse it (it may be collapsed with one hand, but it is a full-round action to do so).

Maybe if you have a bulletproof umbrella...I think you're mixing up cover and concealment there, good sir.

Shaver of Comeliness

In addition to the usual effects of a clean shaven face, this ornately designed shaver bestows upon it's user a bonus to Charisma (+1 to +4) that lasts up to an hour after it's use.

Cigarettes of Asphyxiation
"Those things'll kill you someday."
Cigarettes of Asphyxiation are a sinister weapon of assassination, taking advantage of the common addiction to nicotine. Cigarettes of Asphyxiation are simply normal cigarettes unwrapped, altered with an incantation scribbled a certain distance into paper, and re-wrapped to look as good as new.
Since this weapon is designed to give the assassin time to flee the scene, the spell only becomes active 1d4X10 seconds after the cigarette is lit. Once the spell activates, the next drag taken on the cigarette sends a lungful of lethally enchanted smoke into the victim. This magical smoke forces a fortitude save (DC19). If the save is failed, the victim starts showing signs of suffocation for 1d4 rounds before falling to 0HP and following the normal rules for suffocation.
Normal methods to prevent choking (such as the Heimlich Maneuver) can grant the victim an additional save attempt at the normal DC once every round they are used.
Non-lethal variants of this sinister weapon bring the victim unconscious after reducing him to 0HP instead of proceeding with normal rules for suffocation.

Golf Bag of Holding

This seemingly normal gold bag has been magically enhanced. Originally used to covertly bring illegal weapons onto a secure golf course by an assassin. The gold bag has one large opening, and five pockets on the outside. The main space can hold up to two dozen large or smaller object. Each of the side pockets can hold up to a dozen small or smaller objects. Even when fully loaded, the Gold Bag of Holding weighs no more than normal. On command an illusion of a full set of well made gold clubs can be activated to hide the contents of the main space.
A Gold Bag of Holding weighs nine pounds and is considered a huge object.
