First off, I looked in the errata/FAQ for answers to these first. So I'd prefer not to be linked to that.

1.   What's up with the AUG? It has the same Range, Damage, Ammo, etc. as the M16, but weighs more, and it has a 3-point higher Purchase DC. Why is this? It's description lists an ambidextrous design and a "Built-in optical sight". What are the game effects of a "Built-in optical sight"? The PSG1 is listed as coming with a scope, so that's not it. (Don't most guns have these under the name "Iron sights? I know the AUG A1 has a built-in scope, but the ranged weapons table doesn't list a model.)

2.   What's the psionics stat for the Battlemind?

...Bump...

Does anyone have an answer for my questions?

I don't give a toss about guns, so I don't know the answer to your first question, and I don't understand your second question. If you clarify, I'll give it a try.

1. Because the d20Modern system is too course as-is to define the difference between the guns via mechanics... but the wealth system is apparently up to tracking the difference in cost. @_@

2. The Battlemind's casting stat is the subject of... a lot of grief from just about everyone who uses this system. See, it uses the old 3.0 psionics system where each power requires a different attribute to cast, and is thus effected by that attribute for the purpose of determining its DC. Seeing as the Battlemind's power set already sucks pretty bad, it'd be fair to just houserule all powers under a single ability (Intelligence or Wisdom, possibly Cha).

Me? I'd rather use my (admittedly unfinished) homebrewed psionics-as-feats system. /shameless plug.

Thanks Vega, I'll have to look at that sometime.

How many of the Battlemind's powers actually have a DC? I saw mostly powers like Bioweapon.

Not a problem, sir.

Well, with the book here in front of me I've found the following: Concussion and Lesser Concussion (fort save for half damage), Fire Storm (reflex save for half damage), Lightning Strike (reflex save for half damage), Mind Darts (reflex save for half), Telekinesis (will negates), and Whitefire (reflex save for half damage).

Not too many. But when you consider how small that list of powers they get really is, they count for more.

So what stat do they get bonus power points from?

I'm pretty sure they don't get extra power points from any stat, actually, which is unfortunate. :\ They really botched the class, IMHO.

It's an adaption of the D&D rules to a modern world. If you play D&D, then you can learn to play D20 Modern without much effort. Here's a link to the SRD.
