Mar 18, 2008 15:29:31 My friends and I have made a collection of rules, including feats, skills, equipment, and classes. Most of which we got from the SRD, but we also added some of our own stuff. I read the Open Game License and I am still confused as to whether or not it would be legal for me to share it with others, such as people here on the forums.

Mar 18, 2008 15:35:40 If all you used was the SRD you are golden. You can add your stuff, designate which of it is open content (if any) and add a copy of the OGL license at the end (or beginning) of whatever you're going to "release".

In the OGL you have to state where you got your copied info from - it already lists the SRD, but if you got anything else from any other OGL source you must reference that as well.

It's somewhat confusing but as long as you didn't copy previously non-OGL material like proper names of people or material that's specifically listed as IP you'll be fine.

This forum is all about sharing. That's why you see many PEACH threads, because they're offering fan-brewed classes, feats, etc. to share and/or be examined by everyone.

Outside of the forum, you might want to use the OGL. Not to scare you, but I recommend you have a lawyer to help you with any legal advice concerning this legal document.

Would help if the site have its own OGL attached to it and can be accessible.

Don't forget about updating Section 15 Copyright Notice.

Just copy-n-paste the OGL onto a webpage.

Section 15 is located on bottom of the OGL (scroll down).

Since you're adding (or Contributing) new material, you need to cite your webpage (and yourself as the author) under Section 15.

Yes, leave the SRD citation there.

Add or leave the MSRD citation there also.

Add your website citation (both title and link) with year of publication (i.e., when your webpage is posted up for everyone to see) and website author (or webmaster) under it.

If you add OGC from other [third-party] sources other than the SRD, MSRD, cite those sources as well under Section 15 Copyright Notice.
