| #1buzzxfJan 05, 2010 19:31:05 | I am a big fan of mechs and mecha, but how they are worked into the rules is just clunky in my opinion. I plan to rework it to my ends. Herre is my game plan.
- Mechs are treated as characters. They have their own hp, feats, talents, and some ability scores.
- When characters are inside a active mech they are safe. However if a mech takes on large amounts of damage it will explode.
- Using manuevers in a mech users the pilots skill roll but instead of using his Dex modifier, he uses the lower of the mech and his. Penalties are added depending on the mechs size.
- A mech can have as many armaments as his Str modifier, as much body defense and environment systems as its Con modifier, and as many support systems as his Int modifier. This excludes basic communications and view screens.
- Mechs will have levels, which determine price. The more levels the more feats and talents.
- If a player wants to build a mech, it starts at first level, and increases through successful mechanics checks.
This is all very basic and I have yet to start. Anybody else interested? |

It's always intresting to see other peoples take on these, but may I also recomend you take a look at D20 Mecha, the SRD of which can be found here (scroll down a bit) which is a hell of a lot better. Its only available through way back machine nowdays. |
