Soooo, I was wondering if maybe I could get some help on the best way to make a d20:Future character who can "build robot armies" and sic them on people. lol

I've looked in just about EVERY D20 book and I've found a few classes that seem as though they dip into robot building a little bit but I wanted something that really focuses on it. Any optimization help/suggestions?

Thanks all!

I can't really help all that much except to make it a
Occupation: Scavenger or Technician
Classes: Smart Hero with the Engineer and Techosavant AdC's...
Skills: Knowledge- Technology, Repair,
Modern Feats: Gearhead, Studious,
Future Feats: Dedicated & Fast & Smart Plus, Cybertaker 'for the human minions', Mastercrafter, Salvage,

I am GM'ing a small part of my group this weekend in a D&D Modern campaign... the races of D&D with tech from Modern/Future... I can help if you need ref material to consult for building up your Robot Army as I have several PDF's and docs from AlternintyRPGnet that dwell on robots and such.

If you want to look over them then PM me with your e-mail and I send them to you

Look up Minion Robots in the Menace Manual. Simple yet effective. All you need is to talk to the GM about which craft skill to use, DCs, and how much it's going to cost.

To continue on what Raving said

the Robot Army should actually be NPC character robots with their own CR & EL,
even if they were built by the TopDog badguy in flavor text.
Otherwise, the cost of the army would have to be paid by one guy, and he cant afford anything too hazardous army wise.

Once you use NPC robot chars, it gets pretty hairy pretty fast even as just a robo-conversion of an existing module EL encounters

Have you considered instead of an army of robots, using one enormous robot?

yeah, one giant robot does seem pretty cool. But i guess instead of an army of robots (maybe i exaggerated, lol) I'll go for a character that can build and have several/multiple robot "minions" under his control. Something simple like that.

I would go for the "one giant robot" idea, but the campaign that I'm in wouldn't really call for that unfortunately. It would be AWESOME though.

So, are there not any guides and such to robot building, DC's and junk, ect..?

The one massive robot that controls all the littler ones that kill off the soldiers attacking the lair of the centuries old Mad scientist... that or use the classic the party fights several hundred low level robots before finding the one big massive one that is in the final activation stage...

Its hard for a party to concentrate firepower on an army of Tiny RoboPistols,
but 1 giant robot gets all party attacks toward it.

Leading Edge Games
They made Phoenix Command (and others), some of the most brutally math intense gaming for realism ever... their damage tables are an interface of balistc gel penetrations vs the 54 locations anatomy encountered by depth.
