Lately I have started playing Shadowrun 4e (not related to D&D 4e), Savage Worlds, and Eclipse Phase (ok, I haven't really played any of this one yet. So far, I have only read through its setting and rule-set). Of the three, Shadowrun and Eclipse Phase have really impressed me with their setting/rules (though, I am still not a huge fan of the magic in Shadowrun). Hell, Eclipse Phase is neat/intelligent enough that it has me thinking in terms of my dissertation. Savage Worlds seems neat... very d20 Modern in terms of its open ended setting. However, I am not as big a fan of its ruleset. Anybody else happen upon any neat/interesting Modern/Sci-Fi games?

I'm looking forward to 'Airship Pirates' - which isn't exactly modern, but modern compared to fantasy, I suppose.

Amethyst has really caught my eye lately. It was interesting before, too, but the Evolutions book is really amazing. New essentials classes (that don't suck!) and negative magic is pretty awesome. And of course still eagerly awaiting the final release of Neurospasta and Ultramodern4.

Man, the more I check out Eclipse Phase, the more I think I may have found my all time favorite sci-fi RPG. Its metaplot, setting, and rules system are all fantastic. Anyone who likes sci-fi RPGs should give Eclipse Phase a look. It is AMAZING!
