| #1Infliction2Aug 24, 2015 19:10:11 | When using Proximity Spread to attack a starship square in hopes of dealing at least half damage to smaller ships, is it just the -5 penalty for using this ability on the battery? Or do you still also include the -20 penalty for firing at smaller ships?

| #2StevenOAug 25, 2015 10:08:02 | When using Proximity Fire (SotG 31) I'll suggest keeping the -20 when dealing with starfighters although one can read it differently if they like.
I say this because those turbolaser batteries would be so lethal to starfighters without it. A six gun battery gets +10 to it's rolls and even if you take -5 on the attack hitting REF 10 for 'half damage' is still rediculously simple. Then look at the average damage a 6d10x5 battery would do (165) and realize that half of that (83) is still more damage than most fighters can handle. The more maneuverable (higher REF) fighters are less likely to be directly hit but they often have few hp to absorb that blast and would be vaporized quickly.
