| #1herbert_westJan 06, 2010 6:24:09 | I've been trying to stat the Gekko from MGS4 with D20 mecha. Basing this on playing the game far too many times and on the metal gear wiki page, found here. Heres what I've got so far: Gekko (Unmanned Irving Attack Vehicle) Type: Giant Robot Size: Either Large or Huge (can't make up my mind as they tend to rarely stand up to their full height) HP: (Somewhere in the region of 40-50? They're tough SOBs.) Crew: 0 (Automated) Cargo: Probably 0 (though they do have somewhere they store those grenades) Armour Hardness: (Armour gives a bonus to hardness/DR in my games and 10 is about that of an APC with 20 being a tank) Defence: 10 minus whatever the size modifier ends up being (-1, -2) Strength: 20-35? (It may not have arms but its kicks HURT) Speed: Land - Probably slightly faster than a champion sprinter (Aparently their bio-legs are as fast as a champion sprinter, so says Otacon) Maneuver: Alright (they're kinda clumsy) Initative: 0 Special Abilities: Communication: Long range radio maybe? Countermeasures: Laser Warning Reciever (they know if they're being targetted if you point an advanced rocket launcher and can even dodge them) Defensive ECM (for the same reason as above) Jumping (Lots. They can jump SOOOOOOO far) Navigation: GPS (Its probably something like this) Maybe some sort of Remote control? They seem more guided by AI than anything. Sensors: Infrared and Optics (Additional +2 on spot checks due to advanced sensors) Wall Crawling (They seem to more stick to walls, but with their jumping ability it might as well be climbing) Targetting Bonus maybe? They're pretty good shots Exotic Abilities: Full AI Defects: High Ground Pressure (shown to fall through things) Very Noisy (Maybe gives some sort of intimidation bonus to those who have heard it before/heard about it. Oh god. The mooing. THE MOOING.) Weak Point X2 (Its unarmoured belly and its legs) Weapons: Aparently 2 X M2 Browning 50. machine guns, Lots of tube launched missiles (One shot though) and some sort of grenade discharger? And a kick attack, and a slam attack as well? (them smashing you hurts) Special Flavours: Suicide Gekko: Super Equipment (A Nuke strapped to them that takes ages to arm and makes them stand still.) No weapons The really bad ones from that bit in Shadow Moses: Electromagnetic Armour (they can deflect rockets! Why can they do this? WHY!!) |

| #3bladerockJan 13, 2010 14:31:13 | I can't, i have never played any metal gear game out there, so i can't know how good the stats are at representing it. ... |
| #4red_letter_revengeJan 27, 2010 4:12:22 | well, I wouldn't give them a Limited AI, as If I remember correctly, that doesn't allow it to use its weapons, but a "dumb" Full AI would still let it fight.. I'd also replace the "super initiative" with bonuses to spot/listen or sensors related to early threat detection, more than an initiative bonus, as I don't recall Gekkos being all that quick on the attack, just very good at spotting you. |
