For those looking for a faster, less equipment-driven game for cinematic heros:

One Hand Handguns: 1d8
Two Hand LongArms: 1d12

Double Tap: 2x damage
Burst Fire: 3x damage

This gathers up the loose ends of .22short - 500SW Handguns in a simple group,
as well as collecting the various rifle calibers from 22lr - 600Nitro as just Longarms.

Magnum pistols fired 1 handed do 1d8 with no ToHit penalties, 1d12 when 2handed.
Carbines do 1d8 when fired 1 handed, full 1d12 damage when fired 2 handed.
Cause you plain shoot 'better' when you have more control of the gun

This should put an end to minmax munchkins trying to metagame the equipment lists

I can see where you want to go with this but 1d8 and 1d12?

I include generic weapons for use by NPCs:

Here's a weapon gadget for the new system because we all love the gadget system.

Gadget: Tiny ammo

By reducing the size of the slugs fired by a firearm, the damage can be greatly increased. This is accomplished through higher bullet speed, pixie dust, and a really good marketing campaign by the weapon's manufactorer.

In game terms, it adds an additional dice of damage. Thus, the FN Five-seveN would normally inflict 1d8 because it's a pistol, but by virture of it's Tiny Ammo, inflict 2d8 instead.

I'll see your pocket sized BAR and raise you a medium sized Abrams tank cannon.

Better, TWF + two miniturized tank cannons = WIN!

BTW, just realized that (according to RAW, at least) the Barret Light Fifty and a tank cannon are the same size (huge). Gotta love it!

when proprly stat'ed,
that comes out as Handgun 1d8 + WillDC20 1d6 Hype damage

It's like I told my DM when I convinced him to let me have those pistol sized Light Fifties.

"Dude! Of course it legit! Look for yourself, it's right there in the rules!"
