| #1hawaianhamsterJun 12, 2009 19:22:57 | I'm supposed to have some sword thing to be able to buy, but I decided to be lazy and give it up to you creative thinkers to think up of some obscenely over-the-top sword :P So any ideas? |
| #2TheRealOrionJun 12, 2009 20:27:24 | Can you tell us what resources you have to work with and what kind of F/X you have access to (if any)? If you want people to do work for you, it's nice to provide some information. |
| #3hawaianhamsterJun 12, 2009 20:43:10 | What's F/X? Any resources I guess, it's my first time. Go crazy lol |
| #4narukagamiJun 12, 2009 21:29:55 | Not to be rude, but... No. If you're that new you don't even know what F/X means (d20 Modern's catchall term for all things supernatural, such as magic and psionics, by the way), this would be a perfect learning opportunity for you. |
| #5hawaianhamsterJun 12, 2009 21:46:20 | I thought there wasn't any such things as magic, etc. in the modern world? Well, I basically came up with (after watching ninja vs. spartan on deadliest warriors) a poisonous barbed katana that is fueled to be flamed in one hand, and in the other, a spartan-like shield that is built to swing around and deal blunt damage/stun the guys. Then to modernize that, I guess I would, like the sword, add poisonous barbs to the edge and make the material transparent/bulletproof like what the SWAT teams use. Plus, to make it even more over-the-top, I decided to make it so if you add them together, you can put them together into a motorcycle for easy transportation and not to get weirded looks at a katana and a shield. Hows that? |

| #7YarJun 12, 2009 22:13:50 | Ok crazy Sword. Hmmm... +3 Fiery Beam saber!! Or... +3 Fiery Saberchucks!! Now i challenge someone to gadget the hell outa these! |
| #8narukagamiJun 12, 2009 22:16:16 | ![]() |
| #9hawaianhamsterJun 12, 2009 23:19:54 | aaaahahahaha!! saber chucks!! that's a good one lol |
| #10backstabbistJun 13, 2009 0:04:02 | What kind of fool would use Saberchucks:![]() you cut your leg/shoulder/torso off when you swing reversals If you really wanted a killer modern sword just suit up in the appropriate armor (rad suit) and swing a Non-Depleted WeaponsGrade Uranium Shortsword <very heavy, 2hand it> .... you dont even have to hit the guy, just unsheathing it starts to kill him a little each round he is near you Since I am fond of active munition ordinance, try a Gunblade for something over the top ![]() If you think about it, a flamethrower is just a 2handed backpack "FireSabre" its like a LightSabre, but burny-er If you character has Evasion then use a C4Sabre. Sure both the guy you hit as well as you have to save vs the 14d6 blast, but you have Evasion |
| #11rhialtoJun 13, 2009 0:28:21 | Ok crazy Sword. My +4 fiery chuck-chucks beat your sabrechucks :p |
| #12TheRealOrionJun 13, 2009 0:33:07 | Oh, nunchucks with nunchucks on the ends. Sweet. |
| #13YarJun 13, 2009 2:42:02 | Hey! I was serious about gadgeting them! I was Imagining two beamsabers that are connected at the handles. |
| #14backstabbistJun 13, 2009 10:06:26 | a blade forged from Black Hole material Singularity Sabre Simple Melee Weapon Size: Med Wt: 0.18 Sol Melee Touch Attack: Target is sucked into singularity and adds to its mass Critical: Everything within 2km is sucked in as well Special: Due to quality of manufacture, all SIngularity Sabres are MW+1 |
| #15trappedsliderJun 13, 2009 14:18:16 | a blade forged from Black Hole material ONLY +1 :P |
| #16backstabbistJun 13, 2009 22:27:17 | To work it to a +2 or better requires it to be a Sigularity GreatSword, and that weighs 0.30 Sol .... way to heavy to lift |
| #17TheRealOrionJun 13, 2009 22:59:53 | No no, "Improved Monkey Grip." Not a problem. |
| #18RagitsuJun 14, 2009 2:24:00 | What's next, "Improved Stupidity"? |
| #19TheRealOrionJun 14, 2009 2:49:15 | Is that "Intelligence" or "Even More Stupid"? To me, improving stupidity makes you smart. |
| #20RagitsuJun 14, 2009 2:51:04 | Not at all. The wielder would need to be absent of brain in order to consistently attempt using this DragonBall Z class weapon for any combat scenario :P. |
| #21backstabbistJun 14, 2009 9:51:41 | I dont see Improved Monkey Grip as being that useful. Just how often will you need to grapple an Improved Monkey? what is that anyway? Geneworked monkey? CyberMonkey? PsiMonkey? Forget figuring out where to grip the Cybermonkey, just shoot it |
| #22narukagamiJun 14, 2009 9:56:26 | I dont see Improved Monkey Grip as being that useful. ![]() |
| #23TheRealOrionJun 14, 2009 11:30:44 | Forget figuring out where to grip the Cybermonkey, just shoot it That's your solution to everything! Texans, I swear... :D |
| #24DwarfFighterJun 15, 2009 8:57:24 | My +4 fiery chuck-chucks beat your sabrechucks :p Norris-chucks. Please. -DF |
| #25chonenJun 16, 2009 10:36:07 | a poisonous barbed katana that is fueled to be flamed in one hand.... shield that is built to swing around and deal blunt damage/stun the guys. .... I decided to make it so if you add them together, you can put them together into a motorcycle for easy transportation and not to get weirded looks at a katana and a shield. Hows that? Flame and poison? The flame would burn off the poison and wouldn't have much of an effect anyway in cauterized wounds. A shield that is specially built to be blunt? Are you sure you aren't running a Future campaign? People don't give me weirded looks when I'm on my Samurai-Chariot-cycle |
| #26TheRealOrionJun 16, 2009 12:44:43 | But but but... the poison burns off and turns into a harmful gas! So you have to roll a Fort save every time you're attacked, if it doesn't do damage. And the wielder isn't affected. Somehow. |
| #27YarJun 19, 2009 17:10:01 | Stop pooping on our ludacris cherios. +5 dancing saberchuks of speed. The saberchucks would be something more like this @@@@@@@@[=======]------[========]@@@@@@@@ @ = the beam [=======] equals the handles ------ equals the chain. |
| #28backstabbistJun 20, 2009 0:02:58 | [========]@@@@@[========] LightSaber Chucks Two heavy handles to beat folks with, that are connected by an unbreakable & uncutable laser beam. When you tie two oldschool lions together by their tails you get SaberTooth Chucks What about ArmoiurChucks that may or maynot contain a dead Schrodingers cat? What about a Paradox Sword? Anyone stabbed by it is sent 0.3miliseconds back in time. Unfortunately, in most cases there will already bea a 'him' occupying that space when the struck 'him' arrives in the past... 2 bodys cannot occupy the same space at the same time .... I'm no doctor, but thats gotta hurt. |
| #29narukagamiJun 20, 2009 0:11:12 | What about a Paradox Sword? DM: Roll to hit. Player: *rolls* 20, a crit! *rolls again* Confirmation total: 24! DM: *sigh* You collapse the time-space continuum. *closes books* Well that was a fun campaign while it lasted. :P |
| #30trappedsliderJun 20, 2009 0:17:15 | DM: Roll to hit. That sounds like the start more than the finish |
| #31backstabbistJun 20, 2009 0:18:50 | Just as I have stated with my anti-zombie Particle Stream that might ignite earths atmosphere- While there is a chance I will destroy the world with my invention, it is unlikely, and I am willing to take that risk. Either way, the desired effect will be achieved: The target to be killed will die one way or another. The original design parameters said nothing about a list of Survivors that must be maintained when the invention is operating at nominal specs |
| #32vampyre01Jun 29, 2009 18:56:09 | how about a longsword/katana with a ultrasonic cutting edge embeded in the cutting edge to enhance its cutting ability .. the blade could be made of that ceramic they ues for high quality knives uaed by top chefs .. it would be lighter that a metal counterpart and less detictable by metal detectors |
