#1 the_mindless Apr 25, 2010 2:16:52	which already provided terrorist group could i use as a base for it? i was thinking Al-Jambyia from menance manual would work but i want some thoughts from you guys/gals.    note: i knew of them for several years before "Deadliest Warrior" came out, but then my group learned of them and have been nagging me to incorporate them sometime. since it's my "IRA fanatic" friends birthday soon i decided to give into his wishes, but slightly diffrent than he planned.  thank you in advance for your contributions
#2 TheRealOrion Apr 25, 2010 2:26:15	As gruesome as it would probably be, I'd recommend actual research. Start with Wikipedia and read all the citations at the bottom of the entry, and then go to a library and read more. The reality of an organisation like that is bound to be far more complex and interesting than anything in a gaming manual, and it will give you all kinds of ideas for game hooks, colourful characters, tactics and practises, and difficult situations for your players.

#5 rustam1 Apr 25, 2010 18:47:10	yes, read about groups on wiki and such. and how about using another group as the model for them? something like this: Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam - Terror Group from War on Terror. and for specops groups: Navy Seal Unit - The Navy Seal special ops unit.
#6 TheRealOrion Apr 25, 2010 19:07:45	This is just my opinion, but I'd say you'd be better off looking at the actual IRA. Tactics and practises change a lot from place to place. The more you can absorb about the nuances of that situation in that time and that place, the better the game will be. I'm just a booster for direct research. The difference between you and an expert is three good books. Read three good books, and suddenly you Know Stuff. Again, though, just my opinion.
#7 AnimeSniper Apr 27, 2010 14:09:31	I have one PDF that deals with the whole Terrorist perspective on my flashdrive... I think The makers of the 'Blood & Guts' series of PDF's made it. I can check after I find the zippered binder I stored it in on who made it... I do remember it had several AdC's like Suicide Bomber and whatnot
