they are trying to shun the loyal players that hung around waiting for so long?
Just as the movie industry spends millions on marketing hype to get folks to want to see the movie before it is released, why isnt WoC doing a lead in marketing push to draw anticipation for these upcoming product? Instead, what we see is effectively getting kicked to the side, but expected to come back as adoring & purchasing fans, but only when it is convenient for them.
They should watch just whom they say "Go away, dont bother us" to,
we are the customer base of their allegedly upcoming product.

Well that kinda sucks, but honestly I'm not crying over it. Once 4e comes out, the D&D discussion will trickle down to nearly nothing, and I can't say I'm surprised that Wizards doesn't really care about people who want to play d20M.
We're not making them any money because they're not producing the game any more. From a strictly capitalist point of view, they have absolutely no reason to care about us. I don't say this to either attack them or to rationalise capitalist practises. I just think that's the way it's going to go down.
I wonder if some bright spark could toss up a pre-fab forum for us d20M hacks? Someone with some web space they're not using. Someone who would receive all of our undying gratitude. Hintity hint hint...

Right now, I seriously going to "fork" d20 modern like so many semi-abandoned open source projects. I hope to be having some free time this summer to do this. With any luck, having a profession instead of a full time job + school will give me more free time.

Of course they are not releasing the d20 GSL until a year or so after the D&D GSL. So we are looking at 1 year or more before 3rd parties can produce non-D&D branded games using the new system.
However, I am disappointed that WOTC seems unwilling to archive past posts, since it is a lot of knowledge that will be lost. Hardrive or website space seems a very small price to pay to keep some customers happy and loyal.
I'm also very disappointed in the lack of support for d20 modern by WOTC: had I known the situation prior to buying the game, I would have gone with GURPS.
Allow me to give my perspective as a pre-Reagan gamer (DND basic set) who left and game back after a 15 year hiatus: role-playing games have become much more commercialized, and product production is driven by profit, not gaming. When I started roleplaying, you didn't 'need' $50 to $400 worth of books to play, $22 battlemats and $3 figurines weren't 'necessary', and the demonweb pits adventures were in a cheap magazine style set, not a $40hardback tome. A lot of what drives WOTC seems to be setting the game up so we buy stuff.
But it doesn't have to be that way. I once GM'd an adventure where we used no dice, books, or anything. We took a walk, I told the player what he saw, he told me what he did, I decided if it worked (it was all puzzle solving anyway), and if something came up where we needed 'dice', we did rock paper scissors or a coin toss. Total cost: $0.
Publishers get away with what they do because in the end we (myself included) buy their products. But role-playing games are unique in that we DON'T need their products to play. We can create our own stuff, because that is what roleplaying is: creation. WOTC wants us to forget that.
So I have to respectfully disagree with you trappedslider: we're not doomed as long as we have our imaginations.

Maybe they could create specific Post Icons that would give away the book the tread refers to? At a glance you would know if its Future or Apoc for exemple.
That is a great idea! How can we float this to the powers that be?
That would be easier than having to ask the guys who apparently don't really care about us to add icons in the software.
