| #1wizo_sithNov 04, 2006 11:03:11 | We the undersigned, hope to convince Wizards of the Coast that the delayed (and rumored cancelled) d20 Spectaculars supplement is a welcome (and potentially profitable) addition to the d20 Modern line of Role-Playing Game products. |
| #2Kelvor_RavenstarNov 04, 2006 11:18:31 | Happy to be first (I think) to sign this petition. I encourage Wizards to get some people back working on this product as soon as it is feasible. |
| #3zombiegleemaxNov 04, 2006 11:23:32 | I'll add my name to the list. |
| #4zombiegleemaxNov 04, 2006 11:52:55 | We will never have enough supplements :P, but I belive that the "super-hero" genre is crualy missing from the Modern line. *SIGN* Side Note: To the people who might be thinking of doing anything else but sign or do fishy things... Please read the following statement of WizO_Sith. I'll sticky a "Wizards: Please Don't Abandon d20 Spectaculars" petition thread, and everybody can sign it. Once (don't register a whole bunch of new accounts and try to inflate the numbers - it doesn't work because we can spot MuPs pretty easily). This is the second petition... Please don't screw this one up... |
| #5zombiegleemaxNov 04, 2006 12:08:15 | I will willingly sign this. *SIGN* Editted for fear that this will be taken in the wrong context. If anyone has questions, please come dirrectly to me. Thanks again everyone. |
| #6trappedsliderNov 04, 2006 12:15:13 | I add my name to the list of names already started. |
| #7marcoasalazarmNov 04, 2006 12:31:43 | I sign this petition on my full use of my mental faculties. Heck, since I first heard of it, I wanted to buy it. I mean, I have MnM and everything, but D20M struck a chrord in me, and the idea of adding capes to it was something I liked. |
| #8Cyber-DaveNov 04, 2006 13:16:15 | Signed. |
| #9glitch_wraith_dupNov 04, 2006 13:31:47 | I was also very intrestedi n the idea of a super hero D20 modern campaign. *puts name down* |

| #16rusvalNov 04, 2006 16:26:01 | Sure, why not. *Signed* Another book to buy. |
| #17TheRealOrionNov 04, 2006 17:59:11 | Signed! I've made my opinions known about how such a game could be put together without excessive amounts of effort. All we really need are powers and way to buy them (the tough part), some superhero classes (preferably Prestige/Advanced classes so that all superheroes effectively start at level 5 or so), and some rules governing how to import magic, psionics, and advanced technology (cyberware, mecha, etc.) from all the material that's already published. It could be done without a whole lot of head-scratching as an expansion to d20 Modern. If they did that, I'd probably buy Spectacular, Modern and Future all in one day just so I could run it. |
| #18dan23Nov 04, 2006 18:06:05 | I've been wanting an actual d20 Modern super hero system for soooo long (and published adventures). I would love more support for d20 Modern in general, though. Signed. |

| #20luris_blearNov 04, 2006 21:26:44 | Consider this signed. My previous boast that I will pre-order a copy of this book and put my money where my mouth is still stands. I'd even consider a second book for my wife. |
| #21j0ltNov 05, 2006 8:25:13 | I *DEFINETLY* will sign! (trying to build a decent Spider-Man with just the core book and a few ideas from D&D is proving to be quite difficult, this book would make my life a whole lot easier!) |
| #22chup%40cabra_dupNov 05, 2006 10:26:35 | Add my signature as well. To tell the truth, I didn't buy the Dark Matter supplement, mainly due to the fact that I already owned the Alternity version, plus the Dragon Magazine article (and reviews have said that there isn't much new material from what I already have). However, I would purchase d20 Spactaculars, as I would like a supers system that merges with the standard Modern rules set, and I know at least 2 others who would make that purchase as well. |
| #23zombiegleemaxNov 05, 2006 10:34:28 | If I said please would it help? I have bought everything else and eagerly await anything you all would publish in the D20M line. *sign* |

| #37almafetaNov 05, 2006 18:57:50 | I have other supers games. I'm looking forwards to d20 Spetaculars (or d20 Supers, or d20 Spandex, or d20 Capes, or ...) because I love to read what the d20 Modern writers do, I like to play the games they write, and I'm quite ready to see how they can make d20 Modern work for superheroes. Consider me signed up. |
| #38otis_my_manNov 05, 2006 20:22:19 | I'll sign too! Please don't forget about d20 Spectaculars! |
| #39battles14Nov 06, 2006 0:08:02 | Absolutely positively signed. I've posted fairly extensively concerning the potential Spectak has to bring a whole new section of the *nerd* market (comic book readers) to d20, and also attract some of the M&M crowd. Here's hoping this petition counts for something (thanks for the sticky). |

| #45easymoneyNov 06, 2006 19:43:33 | I'm signing too! I've been interested in this since I found out about it last January. I even e-mailed a number of customer service people about it. I was always told that it was being delayed and to keep watching the website. I've been watching, haven't seen any sign of it yet. With shows like "Smallville" and "Heroes" and a number of blockbuster superhero movies, you'd think the "powers-that-be" would see a golden opportunity in the superhero genre. I would physically sign a petition or send a letter to them if I knew it would help. Rock on WizO Sith! |
| #46zombiegleemaxNov 06, 2006 22:45:56 | Signed I'm a fan of superhero stuff. Seeing it in d20 Modern would be great. |

| #53Wolfen_FenrisonNov 09, 2006 8:27:37 | *Signed* PS WotC, iif you want to boost the sales of Modern then make appeal to a broader selection of readers, you've covered alot of bases already but there is still d20 Modern style fantasy or do more D&D/d20 Modern crossover articles. The more ways you and fans of the game can say "Hey if like X than check out d20 Modern" A good example is I got a d20 Apocalypse game going beacuse my friends who watch Jehrico liked that concept and I showed how well we could do it with modern and the rest is history. In short keep up the good work and the game won't let you down. |
| #54vagabonvoidNov 09, 2006 10:30:21 | sign me on. Heck, more than half my D20 Modern games end up being superhero games. I'm having to do a lot of work to balance mutations and super powers. Please WOTC, make my brain stop hurting... |

| #61slimgoodbodyNov 10, 2006 3:53:17 | I would buy it, as would a few of my friends, one of which will probably be in here signing any day now. An interesting idea I had for the balancing of superpowers: look at what they did for the VRNet in Cyberscape. You can buy up attack, strength, powers, all kinds of things in there. A similar tack could likely be taken for Spectaculars. Whatever they end up doing, though, will surely kick ass. What with Heroes and all the superhero movies coming out, I really want to add some super to my modern. |
| #62zombiegleemaxNov 10, 2006 15:34:02 | Consider me signed. I've tried to use the FX rules from Alternity, but it doesn't quite cut it. Official rules, even if you just make a ten page pdf, PLEASE!! A Star*Drive setting book would be cool too, but Spectaculars first. Oggie |
| #63stranger_among_usNov 10, 2006 16:56:12 | i will gladly add my name to the list. this is the first i have heard of it possibly being cancelled, and it deeply saddens me. the superhero genre is one of my favorites, and i have been looking forward to buying this. a super-powered d20 game is one of the things i've dreamed of doing since i first picked up a 20-sided die. please don't let this one die!! |
| #64wildwolfNov 10, 2006 17:35:46 | Signed. Heroes would be great addition to the d20 line. Plus I have some favorite old characters from other systems that would be great in d20... |

| #72zombiegleemaxNov 12, 2006 22:55:02 | d20 Spectaculars was one of the products I most looked forward to purchasing. I am continually looking for rumors that it will be revived. Please publish the product, the setting, the system, and the company were all contributing factors to my desire to purchase the game. I own other d20 inspired Superhero games, but I really wanted to see what Wizards were doing and when I read your description I was jazzed to run a campaign. |
| #73zombiegleemaxNov 12, 2006 23:13:04 | *signed* I would definantly buy this product, for I love d20 Modern profusely. It's a well designed product that lets you expand in any way, and I'm just dying to see them expand into the super heroic realm. Someone said it earlier, MnM is decent, but it's just not balanced to go with d20 Modern, and I'd rather play with d20 Modern rules, than theres. They are so much more put togehter. So whether the book ends up a big hardcover, like d20 Future, or a small softcover, like d20 Past, it will be bought. Thank you. |
| #74sallaNov 13, 2006 22:57:23 | One autograph, as desired. ;) |

| #76zombiegleemaxNov 16, 2006 14:18:44 | Hello, I most definitely sign this petition. I remember being really excited when I first heard that d20 Spectaculars would be released ... then really bummed out when I heard it had been indefinitely delayed and/or cancelled. I'm a big fan of the d20 Modern system and have hoped for a supers supplement ever since the core book first became available. Supers is one of a very few genre/setting/story ideas not yet covered by the system, so it seems to make a lot of sense ( to me ) that WotC should release one soon. I've been a fan of super hero comics, rpgs, movies & TV shows for a long time and look forward to being able to use the d20 Modern system to continue exercising my fan interests. I know of at least ten other gamers - not currently signators to this petition - who will also want to pick up d20 Spectaculars as soon as possible. Please don't cancel it and please finish it so it can be available for sale sometime in the very near future. Thank You, Tymothy S.F.X. Carroll |

Dark Matter didn't sell that well as an Alternity product, while my player group has been chomping at the bit for nearly three years now for an official D20 Modern superhero suppliment. Heck, combining that with D20 Apocalypse and/or D20 Future brings up some mind-boggling campaign ideas! C'MON! Please? Pretty please? |

I'd buy this book in a heartbeat. Almost did buy it from Amazon.com, until my brain told me I better check here first. That's right, I almost bought a book that didn't exist I was so excited. So please, Wizards, don't abandon it. I own all of your other D20 modern books and want to bring total completion to the set. D20 Spectaculars will be the book I need to add to the stack so I can say with complete confidence, "See this stack of books here? Name a type of game and I'll tell you know to do it with these books right here, and right here alone." |

D20 Modern is the perfect place for them, and I think it would be a great disservice to make us go to a 3rd party vendor to get a super-hero supplement for d20. Signed, Labrat7718 |
| #180gadodelFeb 07, 2007 1:22:26 | What's interesting about this is that I didn't even know such a product was even considered until I read that it had been shelved. More games that deal with Superheroes, the better; so I wouldn't mind seeing someone try to compete with Mutants and Masterminds... |
| #181saurstalkFeb 07, 2007 3:37:21 | Honestly ... I'd just like to see WotC do something to support d20 Modern. Anything! |

| #190grakargFeb 12, 2007 22:59:12 | I haven't heard a peep in months from WOTC regarding d20 Spectaculars. I'm wondering if the guys at The Game Mechanics (makers of Modern Players Companion series, etc) could produce a quality book for d20. |

| #192ravenkithFeb 14, 2007 17:03:17 | I'd buy it. So this is me, Signing the petition. I love superhero games, and my entire group is fixated on D20, but don't like how M&M handles character progression. I own Modern, Urban Arcana, and the Menace Manual. In addition to many other titles. I want to see this so bad, I'd even volunteer to help with proofreading/playtesting, as long as I got credit. |
| #193ranger_regFeb 15, 2007 0:01:21 | I love superhero games, and my entire group is fixated on D20, but don't like how M&M handles character progression. What don't you like about MnM? ![]() |
| #194usually_confusedFeb 15, 2007 7:59:30 | No cofusion, I'm adding my name to the list! |
| #195ravenkithFeb 15, 2007 9:32:28 | What don't you like about MnM? My group, used to way D&D handles character advancement/progression, doesn't like the M&M system. To be honest, it can be a little difficult to grasp, especially if your sole experience (as in my player's cases) is with D&D 3.5, what with M&M being more open-ended when it comes to advancement. They're used to simply adding the next level of whatever to their character, as opposed to thinking about how to spend/save the points. |
| #196joshy676Feb 19, 2007 1:46:29 | Consider me signed for this! I've always run campaigns with regular, everyday heroes, simply because overpowering charisma isn't my thing (evidently not my players', either). But with an addendum to D20 Modern FOR spandexed superheroes, I think my group could jump right on it. |
| #197zombiegleemaxFeb 19, 2007 9:01:03 | Consider me signed. Even though most/all of my campaigns use somewhat more "technologic" superheroes (biomechanics, augmentations, nano-bots) I'm still certain that I'd find something I could pilfer from any WoTC book to use in my campaigns. Ya, I'll buy it! |

WIZARDS: at the very least can you advise us all of what is happening with spectaculars? By not doing so you are leaving the market open for independents to add to the flooded super hero books and making it harder to work spectaculars in to the market in the future. By making a positive statement as to when we may expect the book many would be writers wouldn’t bother and will just wait! Myself included! |

They're too busy counting their money and thumbing through piles of Magic Cards that need to be released as rares to artificially inflate the value of their card game. Good thing toy companies don't do things like this to hook our children on rampant consumerism... Hasbro. [/sarcasm] |

| #336that_which_enduresSep 17, 2007 20:17:35 | Looks like it'll stay on the shelf for awhile. Here's hoping we'll still get it someday.Months before the first episode of Heroes aired, we were working on a d20 Modern supplement called d20 Spectaculars. And by we, I mean people other than me. Specifically freelancers, working on an outline by Jeff Grubb. When I saw Heroes for the first time this weekend, I was struck by the similarities between the show and our initial concept for the d20 Spectaculars book. Well, you know what they say about great minds. I hope at some point we can go back to that manuscript. We shelved it because we didn't have the resources to develop it . . . what with 4th Edition an' all. http://forums.gleemax.com/showpost.php?p=13818246&postcount=10 |
| #337thedudeSep 19, 2007 11:24:30 | Looks like it'll stay on the shelf for awhile. Here's hoping we'll still get it someday. I find it a little hard to believe that d20 Spectaculars was shelved because of lack of resources. I understand that 4th edition is a huge project but come on... considering all the hardcovers that get released every month, it just doesn't add up. If there was real interest in doing it, Wizards could have already produced this book. |

| #347mdock2003Oct 20, 2007 18:36:10 | Definitely count me in for this. I had the book preordered at Paizo as soon as they announced it, way back when. I'm just hoping that 4e doesn't mean the death of d20 modern and that isn't the reason why they aren't doing it. It's not like they would tell us, I mean this is the same company that swore there was no 4e until they announced that they had been working on it for 2 years. |

| #354dclinejrNov 17, 2007 17:40:57 | SIGNED!!! ![]() I was so excited about this game when it was announced. I had hoped to finally be able to start the d20 Superhero game I'd always hoped to. (I picked up Silver Age Sentinels and Mutants and masterminds but wasn't thrilled with either. I hoped that this would be more what I was looking for.) |
| #355ayraNov 27, 2007 7:47:08 | Signed, would love to see that, even if this is veeery belated ;) |
| #356ariel23Dec 12, 2007 23:11:43 | Use Mutants and Masterminds. It's basically d20 Modern on crack (i.e., super-powered). Don't bother with Silver Age Sentinels if you want d20. It doesn't work very well as a d20 game, IMO. I've played virtually every super-hero game since Champions, Villains & Vigilantes, and GURPS Supers... all 1st editions. The only one I haven't tried is the one set in WW II. I am not saying M&M is the best, but it is the best d20 game by far. Your players can figure it out within about 15 minutes. The game is intuitive (if you are a d20 fan) unlike SAS which was originally a Tri-Stat game and feels like a square peg being forced into a round hole. I'm not saying WotC shouldn't mess with d20 Spectaculars, but why bother? You know they won't support it and it will lack any deep playtesting. SAS and M&M are heavily supported, heavily (already) tested games. WotC wrote more than 50 sourcebooks (double that if you include campaign books) for D&D, came out with two editions, and scrapped it after 7 years. d20 Modern is the stepchild, not the brainchild, of WotC. Why take a half-finished game over a polished, established, supported one that uses the same system? |

That would be a tragic. Shoot from how I look at it, 4th edition has been taking its notes from Modern. |

D20 Modern needs this expansion. It would draw in tons of players to the D20 Modern fanbase, and not to mention make many people very happy. I hope with the release of 4th Edition this year, that WotC would find the time to complete this supplement. I enjoy the D20 Modern system, but would however enjoy it more were I not forced to come up with a superhero system for my players. I thank Wizards for it's many great releases, and plan to purchase more of them as they are released. |

| #378natanaxMar 04, 2008 9:07:24 | I would buy it, but I don't think the Wizards management cares about what we think in regards to D20 Modern, they have clearly abandonded it and unless there is a D20 Modern 2.0 using new 4th Ed rules (which, should they release it, I would be first in line for) we aren't likely to see anymore d20 modern supliments until then. |

And shortly afterwards official support from Wizards for d20 Modern was stopped as well. |
| #389riberberoSep 29, 2011 14:09:17 | I don't trust Wizards. They just provide me basic tools to work on, the rest is up to personal devotion and creativity. 4th edition and new Wizards products are just a waste of money if you already own the older editions. My opinion at least. |
| #390Luis_CarlosNov 11, 2011 10:03:09 | I know it´s a very, very, very old thread, but I can´t avoid it. I would like to say I feel curiosity about how a d20 superheroes (by WotC, no other company) had been. What if players wants a setting with d20 spectaculars, urban arcana and d20 Future? I talk about balance of power of spell-caster, high-tech and superpowers. It could be a great new franchise... but I think the superpowers would be like mutations of the new Gamma World. |
