I.... I... I'm sorry, but Twitter is only good to say "we are releasing a product" and maybe say "it's good" or "ir sucks". It is absolutely NOT enough for discussion.
And where else to put this stuff? EnWorld is good, but for the love of...

I came to the boards today because d20 modern was on the brain - wanted to develop a 'hobbies' option similar to 'occupations', and was going to solicit feedback. Glad that I visited, though. Thanks for posting this, because otherwise I would have missed it completely.
I was halfway through a ginormous post when I realized - there's no point. After the end of next month, it will be gone. Nothing I can say, or do, or examples I can give, will change their minds at this point. So instead I'm going to go save the charop builds for the classes I may play over the next few years, and mourn the loss of history this represents. I know it's not the first time they've done it; we've lost a fair amount every time they've moved to new forums. But in the past, they've chosen just to prune the oldest and least-used material, whereas this seems to be a complete abandonment of the medium.
Having an official, centralized location for all of this has been fantastic. Its loss will be sorely felt. I wish all the rest of you many years of happy gaming, and bid you all adieu. May your tables be full and your dice land un-cocked. |
