Killing and eating an animal is not cruel. It's food.
Hanging a dog by its back legs and beating it with a stick with attached fish hooks is cruel.
And I don't believe animals can give consent, so....

Hey! If sex with animals is your (general you, not spefically EE) thing, so be it. I just happen to think it is disgusting.

Regardless though, I was just making a point. When you routinely raise animals from birth in very limited, very crowded environments, rope 'em, tie 'em, brand 'em, and eventually get a lucky conspirator animal to lead the rest to their deaths, I'm not convinced you have much moral ground to stand on and say that just being sexed is necessarily cruel.

I mean, could it be? Sure. But as our own standards show, sex can be cruel/painful/bad and pleasent/benign/nice. So I think to argue that beastiality is "cruelity to animals" you need to establish more then just sex.

Which, IIRC, is part of why Florida passed it's beastiality law, because not all cases where they try and convict on "cruelty to animals" can be carried out because they couldn't prove cruelty was involved.

But meh.
