I agree.  I especially liked that Shannon, referring to his older brother Sterling, said that he wasn't even the best player in the family.
It reminds me of Big O (Oscar Robertson) who always said that he wasn't even the second-best player in his family.  His older brother was on the losing team in the IN state championship game that inspired the movie Hoosiers and his sister could outplay them both.  And this was a guy who averaged a triple-double through his first 5 or seasons and then went on to school the rookie Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) on how to make it in the pros.

Quite an induction class. Deon Sanders (who I disliked in college) turned out to be one of the greatest players at his positon, if not the greatest.

I wish that there wasn't a veteran's committee anymore, however. Not to disrespect the older guys who got in, but seems to me like if you don't get selected when you are eligible there isn't a convincing reason to me that you should be selected years later.  It was different in the 1960's when they first started the HOF because there were all those players from 1920-1960 who didn't get a chance to get in the first time, but now that they're picking guys who played in the 1970's it seems like they should eliminate that option.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, can't argue with those selections.  And it's nice to see it's finally time for Prime Time.  He was always, always on another level.  And he was a two sport guy, too.

Was it baseball? I think it was BB... Which team was it that Sanders played for again?

Atlanta Braves
