Looks interesting. Does anyone else think the Ford logo looks cheap and makes the car look cheaper?

I like the look of it, but it doesn't look like a Mustang.
And yeah, the Ford logo makes anything else than a pickup truck look cheap.

Yee-uck.  The only good news is the IRS.

After fords last excursion with IRS on a Stang I wouldn't be so sure about that Tim.
The biggest deal with making a Solid axle not have any shivver or hop under throttle on broken pavement is in the trailing arms and pan hard rod. The Stang, and Gen 4 F bodies both have cast pieces which are just not up to the job of stopping axle and chassis twist from communicating into the contact patch. You need tubular or forged trailing arms and pan hard rods for that duty. No one wants to do that of course from the factory because it's expensive from a manufacturing stand point. You don't even get forged suspension pieces on exotics, for the most part.

The aftermarket though takes care of alot of it's shivver and hop.

Yeah I'm not sold on it, and it's funny that HS beat me to it.

The side profile of the car is just completely hideous. It's like the Mustang 2 all over again

Yeah, it's pretty fugly.  Moving to IRS is a step in the right direction even if they do it wrong, though.    Welcome to the 20th century, Ford!!

See above
It's Ford, with an IRS. They've only quite literally done it right on one car and that was the GT. (as in the GT40 remake)
I wouldn't say ''welcome to the 20th century'' with an IRS. What I'd like to see, is tubular or forged trailing links and pan hard rods on the current stang rear setup rather than an IRS. The IRS is going to take at least a full car generation to do properly, since it requires an entire restructuring of the car to really make work and hold up to power adders without adding a ton of un necessary weight in the process.

The current stang's suspension setup is more than duty worthy for a race track as poor BMW and Porsche have found out the hard way in both the GT2 in the ALMS, and the GT class in the rolex series. It just needs that last little step.

I couldn't see myself buying the next generation of Stang, with as god awful looking as the car is. It's like some forced mating between an Aston Martin and a Fusion. The hell were they thinkin.

If you want a good Ford with IRS get a GT For that matter ford should bring back the GT. And actually race it instead of letting third parties do it's racing.

The GT had a lot of reliablilty issues, no?  That said yeah, the new Mustang is hideous and there's no way I'd buy one.

Yeah but most of them were knocked out pretty solidly by the end of the run.
I'm thinkin I might go hunting for a current Stang at some point. I have a feeling it's going to become a collector car in fairly short order and will be able to flip it for a profit.

The one I like the best is the Boss 302 Laguna Seca.  Pretty sweet lookin' with decent stats.

I like the 302 Laguna Seca as well but the Track Pack GT will beat the tar out of a BMW 3 series too. So if you're lookin for a Stang but can't afford the Laguna, a Track Pack GT with the Brembos would be a really hot choice too.

Nah, I actually like it.  I was thinkin' about makin' it a secondary vehicle an' pickin' up a sporty-ish car a couple years from now but after talkin' to my mechanic buddy about it it looks like the best plan is to just run it 'til it dies.  That's ok, too.

I'd pick up a sporty car a couple years down the road... providing you move away from that salted hell known as ohio

Nah, I need a truck.  So I'm gonna drive this one 'til I can't and then get a new one.  Not what I want ideally but it's what I can do.

I need 4wd more than I need terrible fuel milage and total lack of utility.    The new Ecoboosts are more powerful anyway.  And faster.  ;)

Oh, and I have a fuel leak somewhere.  Hopefully it's the fill neck but I don't think so.  Yay!

380 horsepower--a fine accomplishment--but truck fans were as likely to fixate on another number: 450 pound-feet of torque.

Your Ecoboost wishes it was faster. It also won't handle as well, the literal only thing your Truck has over the Lightning for the life you live is 4WD and MPG

Ohio Rust is already getting to your truck ZB.

Ecoboost numbers: 365 HP, 420 lb-ft.  ;)

And yeah, the friggin' rust has effectively murdered two of my vehicles.  I also hate having a gravel driveway cuz it makes it worse.  Like, 10 times worse.

Your truck is also quite a ways heavier, too. And doesn't have the proper performance gearing
It also sits higher.

So still slower

You'd think they'd just use slag up there instead of salt. It's not quite as hard on cars and roads. But then, you guys live right near one of the biggest salt mines in the country, so that will probably never happen.

So my earlier suggestion still applies.

I'm still not a fan of any Ford made after 74. Then again that goes for most makes.

I've got family that used to own a successful Greek restaurant in Chicago (Sweetness was one of their regulars).  My uncle has a '65 and one of my cousins has a '66, both fastbacks, both cherry red.

DON'T YOU EVER CALL WALTER PAYTON A WOMAN AGAIN!!!  :SHAKEFIST:

I mean, it's not my fault you have to claim the only team in the NFL that's been around since Super Bowl 1, yet never made it.
