Nov 22, 2011 8:22:48 As long as loads of people don't have deeply felt and extremely negative or weird reactions to certain words, I think "sounds awesome" should pretty much be enough to justify picking a name.

Marquis is pretty much just "marcus" with a weird spelling and Dovakhiin is just an alteration on Donovan.

My daughter also has a pretty unusual name. Everybody loves it.

Nov 22, 2011 12:11:07 I knew you didn't mean marcus, just that the two sound about the same. I just don't consider it to be a stupid name when it sounds cool and has no negative connotations. Naming your kid Duke for example isn't neccesarily a bad thing, it sounds pretty awesome. Even if it isn't a traditional name.

I mean new names have to come from somewhere. Might as well just steal awesome sounding words and convert them into names.
