| #1zombie_babiesMay 04, 2010 12:22:51 | Check it. |
| #2IdolisMay 04, 2010 12:27:46 | I watched that game last night because I'm a Cardinals fan. They didn't show the tazing because MLB's rule against showing fans disrupting the game but Yadier Molina was up to bat and the camera stayed on him. The dude was smiling the whole time and when they tazed the fan he just broke out laughing. Thanks for the video ZB. |
| #3KlirshonMay 04, 2010 12:31:29 | Considering he is a Phillies fan, this had to be expected. At least he didn't vomit on an eleven-year-old girl. |
| #4zombie_babiesMay 04, 2010 12:33:10 | In the other story I saw about this they linked to a video from an A's game last year where a fan got tased. That one was not quite as amuzing. Lemme see if I can find it and ya'all can compare and contrast. ![]() A's game story (last year). This situation is lacking all of the fun of the more recent one. |
| #5KlirshonMay 04, 2010 12:48:28 | While the older incident isn't as humorous, it is still enjoyable to watch (for me at least). |
| #6modern_iconoclastMay 04, 2010 17:25:01 | The first one is indeed funny, catch me if you can... I'm rather agreeing with the poster on the second link, the taser came out too quick in that situation. It should be employed when the officer's security is at risk, not when his pride is affected by poor insults. |
| #7KlirshonMay 04, 2010 18:20:11 | The reason is irrelevant; electrocuting fleshbags is fun regardless of the purpose. |
| #8Cpt_MichaMay 05, 2010 11:00:26 | *buy me some peantus and crackerjacks, I don't care if I get shocked!* I think our society needs to lay off the Serious Business Crap. I mean really this guywasn't a threat to anyone and he gets tazed? |
| #9IdolisMay 05, 2010 11:05:26 | True Micha, he may not have been a threat but they couldn't let him run around on the field for half an hour. There is something else to consider also. If the umps or players didn't see him on the field or he ran out after the pitch was thrown and Yadiar hit it on a line drive and hit the unruly fan with the ball, it could have killed him. There are safety concerns for the fans as well as the players. Edit: The fact that a fan was tazed didn't stop another fan from running out on the same field the following night but this time he just ran out to center field and waited to be arrested. I guess that's better. |
| #10Cpt_MichaMay 05, 2010 11:14:25 | It's fairly unlikely that it would kill him. They could have encirled him and wrestled him off. What he did didn't merit Pain. |
| #11IdolisMay 05, 2010 11:19:09 | This is a video of the fans reaction to the second incident |
| #12Cpt_MichaMay 05, 2010 11:34:40 | My god that's horrible. **** I hate this country. |
| #13IdolisMay 05, 2010 11:40:32 | Hey, they paid good money to watch a game between two high calibre teams. If some **** runs out on the field there better be some entertainment involved if I'm there. Just sayin'. |
| #14IdolisMay 05, 2010 12:57:58 | I also want to add that last nights game was a good one. The Phillies pitcher was working on a complete game shutout in a 1-0 game. After, the delay because of the fan running out on the field, that pitcher gave up back to back doubles and allowed the Cardinals to tie the game in the 9th inning. Also, me and my Dad bought MLB Extra Innings from Charter so that we can watch all the Cardinals games this season. We live in Wisconsin so otherwise we wouldn't be able to see them. The package costs $180 dollars for the season. I don't like it when the game is delayed because of unruly fans. I paid that money to watch the game, not watch the players stand around while security chases a fan off the field. |
| #15scypioMay 05, 2010 14:47:02 | People who run out on the field during a sporting event deserve worse than a tasing. They should just have the batter take a few practice swings at the fan after he's caught or something. |
| #16modern_iconoclastMay 05, 2010 15:16:53 | Haha, good one.... why not keep some lions nearby just in case? Nothing like good 'ol fashion coliseum sports. |
| #17ADHadhMay 08, 2010 8:03:39 | The older incident was the infamous Epic Beard Man. Thought you'd like to know. |
| #18Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 10:09:49 | **** I hate this country. You are more than welcome to leave... But good luck finding a better one.. |
| #19pluisjenMay 08, 2010 10:16:19 | **** I hate this country. Idiots live everywhere so this crap happens regardless of where you live (unless you have an island to yourself, but that still likely contains one idiot) And hey; "better" is subjective. I like where I live more then I like where you live, which is why I live here and not there. |
| #20Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 10:18:40 | **** I hate this country. Fair enough. Irregardless, he may leave if he wishes. Actually, the country would be better off without people living in it that "hate" it... |
| #21pluisjenMay 08, 2010 10:22:36 | Debatable. Any country would be better off without people living in it that hate it and do nothing to improve it. But people that hate the current state of things and actively try to make things better are often very good for a country ![]() |
| #22pluisjenMay 08, 2010 10:35:07 | Ah sorry I didn't realise you were talking about a very large amount of sand, rock and water... I don't know how anyone could hate something like that. |
| #23Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 10:36:58 | Ah sorry I didn't realise you were talking about a very large amount of sand, rock and water... You are being foolish now, and you know you are. |
| #24pluisjenMay 08, 2010 10:40:24 | Yeah, kinda. To me "administration" is "country", and any difference is artificial. Then again; most things in life are artificial. |
| #25Cpt_MichaMay 08, 2010 10:42:35 | Cap'n... Do the math. What does College and Tech School need? Money. Not an inconsiderable amount of it either. I have no credit, and I have zero desire to go into Debt in order to have an Education. What does that leave me with. A job. A somewhat Decent job to pay for it each year while I live with my folks. What has the Economy done. Tanked. What is there a total lack of right now? Jobs, or at least decent ones that pay enough for me to at least go to a farking community college. Fortunately the Bleeding has stopped in the Economy and we are starting to spring back (I can see direct proof of this just by driving through town) slowly but gradually. So maybe if I'm lucky by 30 I will be out of this Dump, or maybe this Dump will not be a Dump anymore and I won't want to move so badly. The only reason I was unemployed for ALMOST THREE YEARS, is because of the Economy and factors I can not control. It had nothing to do with my job performance. (Which was excellent) It had nothing to do with me not looking for a job. Because I was out there Every ****ing Week looking for a job. One that would at least let me be able to consider school. |
| #26Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 10:46:07 | So you expect the country to pay for you education? Really? I took out student loans to get my education. I don't expect things to be given to me. And you think the things Barry are doing is helping the economy? Really? Brother, you do need that education... There are jobs out there...I see signs all the time. They are just jobs you don't want to do. |
| #27pluisjenMay 08, 2010 10:49:04 | Here in the Netherlands the country does pay for your education. It's why we're a knowledge economy and have a very high level of education (in general, at least. There's always the deadbeats that don't want to learn anything) Works quite nicely, actually. |
| #28Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 10:50:17 | Here in the Netherlands the country does pay for your education. It's why we're a knowledge economy and have a very high level of education (in general, at least. There's always the deadbeats that don't want to learn anything) And how much do you pay in taxes? |
| #29pluisjenMay 08, 2010 10:53:47 | Me? Not so much, but then I don't make a lot of money yet as I'm still young. And I would be making even less if the state didn't help me get an education because I definately wouldn't have been able to afford one otherwise. So when I do start making money, I'll gladly pay a lot of taxes to give other kids the same chances I had ![]() |
| #30pigknightMay 08, 2010 11:13:01 | Why can't we be friends? |
| #31Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 11:14:00 | I am friends with the Cap'n! We just happen to have a major disagreement. |
| #32Cpt_MichaMay 08, 2010 11:16:31 | You wouldn't want me to take you up on that offer. Click the link to my deviant art. See the rippled muscles? Couple that with martial arts and some boxing, and the willingness to fight dirty. It ain't bravado when you can back it up. You're old and busted anyway. And I'm the new hotness. Everyone knows New Hotness wins hands down. :-p |
| #33Robin_HoodlumMay 08, 2010 11:26:16 | You wouldn't want me to take you up on that offer. LOL Fair enough ![]() and sorry for pissing you off so bad... |
| #34Cpt_MichaMay 08, 2010 11:32:34 | it's okay. You just put so many words in my mouth there. That tends to cheese me quite good. I started a workout thread for all you out of shape OTTers. It's time to get everyone in shape! Dazzle your SO, impress your friends, get offers for free lapdances from strippers. |
| #35IdolisMay 08, 2010 11:45:55 | How did a thread about a fan running out on the field during a baseball game turn into a debate of who loves the country more and who should leave or not? *scratches head* |
| #36Cpt_MichaMay 08, 2010 11:51:48 | Probably cause I not so jokingly said at the time I hate my country. * * should have specified the people in it |
| #37ORC_ErtaiMay 08, 2010 11:58:28 | Please keep posts polite, respectful and on topic. Thank you. |
| #38EscherEnigmaMay 09, 2010 14:41:59 | Re: Hating country, leaving, and all that jazz Eh. While there are certainly parts about my country I detest, when you have people leaving because they don't like parts, the people that get left behind are often left without that dissenting voice that helped keep things towards the middle, rather then at the extremes. So I'd rather stay and try to make things better then just abandon the baby with the bathwater. Oh, and... Please keep posts polite, respectful and on topic. Thank you. On topic? | #39KlirshonMay 09, 2010 17:59:42 | I purpose that there be more tasings/electrocutions inflicted upon you humans. Perhaps a new holiday will be formed so that every year a massive amount of electrons will be pumped into fleshsacks around the world. |
| #40EscherEnigmaMay 09, 2010 18:14:38 | I purpose that there be more tasings/electrocutions inflicted upon you humans. | #41KlirshonMay 09, 2010 18:23:18 | If they don't have a Tesla coil component or a generator, I don't want them. Those are the kind that turn me on. |
