I watched that game last night because I'm a Cardinals fan. They didn't show the tazing because MLB's rule against showing fans disrupting the game but Yadier Molina was up to bat and the camera stayed on him. The dude was smiling the whole time and when they tazed the fan he just broke out laughing.

Thanks for the video ZB.

Considering he is a Phillies fan, this had to be expected. At least he didn't vomit on an eleven-year-old girl.

In the other story I saw about this they linked to a video from an A's game last year where a fan got tased.  That one was not quite as amuzing.  Lemme see if I can find it and ya'all can compare and contrast.

A's game story (last year).  This situation is lacking all of the fun of the more recent one.

While the older incident isn't as humorous, it is still enjoyable to watch (for me at least).

The first one is indeed funny, catch me if you can...

I'm rather agreeing with the poster on the second link, the taser came out too quick in that situation.
It should be employed when the officer's security is at risk, not when his pride is affected by poor insults.

The reason is irrelevant; electrocuting fleshbags is fun regardless of the purpose.

*buy me some peantus and crackerjacks, I don't care if I get shocked!*

I think our society needs to lay off the Serious Business Crap. I mean really this guywasn't a threat to anyone and he gets tazed?

True Micha, he may not have been a threat but they couldn't let him run around on the field for half an hour. There is something else to consider also. If the umps or players didn't see him on the field or he ran out after the pitch was thrown and Yadiar hit it on a line drive and hit the unruly fan with the ball, it could have killed him.

There are safety concerns for the fans as well as the players.

Edit:

The fact that a fan was tazed didn't stop another fan from running out on the same field the following night but this time he just ran out to center field and waited to be arrested. I guess that's better.

It's fairly unlikely that it would kill him.

They could have encirled him and wrestled him off. What he did didn't merit Pain.

Hey, they paid good money to watch a game between two high calibre teams. If some **** runs out on the field there better be some entertainment involved if I'm there.

Just sayin'.

I also want to add that last nights game was a good one. The Phillies pitcher was working on a complete game shutout in a 1-0 game. After, the delay because of the fan running out on the field, that pitcher gave up back to back doubles and allowed the Cardinals to tie the game in the 9th inning.

Also, me and my Dad bought MLB Extra Innings from Charter so that we can watch all the Cardinals games this season. We live in Wisconsin so otherwise we wouldn't be able to see them. The package costs $180 dollars for the season. I don't like it when the game is delayed because of unruly fans. I paid that money to watch the game, not watch the players stand around while security chases a fan off the field.

People who run out on the field during a sporting event deserve worse than a tasing. They should just have the batter take a few practice swings at the fan after he's caught or something.

Idiots live everywhere so this crap happens regardless of where you live (unless you have an island to yourself, but that still likely contains one idiot)

And hey; "better" is subjective. I like where I live more then I like where you live, which is why I live here and not there.

Fair enough.
Irregardless, he may leave if he wishes.
Actually, the country would be better off without people living in it that "hate" it...

Debatable. Any country would be better off without people living in it that hate it and do nothing to improve it.

But people that hate the current state of things and actively try to make things better are often very good for a country Smile

Cap'n...
How is it the countrys fault you have a poor education?

Hey! Mexicans come across the border all the time, you can easily go to Mexico...
Oh. but wait!
If you are illegal alein in Mexico, you go to jail!
Imagine that!

Do the math. What does College and Tech School need?

Money. Not an inconsiderable amount of it either.

I have no credit, and I have zero desire to go into Debt in order to have an Education. What does that leave me with. A job. A somewhat Decent job to pay for it each year while I live with my folks.

What has the Economy done. Tanked. What is there a total lack of right now? Jobs, or at least decent ones that pay enough for me to at least go to a farking community college.

Fortunately the Bleeding has stopped in the Economy and we are starting to spring back (I can see direct proof of this just by driving through town) slowly but gradually. So maybe if I'm lucky by 30 I will be out of this Dump, or maybe this Dump will not be a Dump anymore and I won't want to move so badly.

The only reason I was unemployed for ALMOST THREE YEARS, is because of the Economy and factors I can not control. It had nothing to do with my job performance. (Which was excellent) It had nothing to do with me not looking for a job. Because I was out there Every ****ing Week looking for a job. One that would at least let me be able to consider school.

So you expect the country to pay for you education?
Really?
I took out student loans to get my education.
I don't expect things to be given to me.

And you think the things Barry are doing is helping the economy?
Really?

Brother, you do need that education...

There are jobs out there...I see signs all the time.
They are just jobs you don't want to do.

Here in the Netherlands the country does pay for your education. It's why we're a knowledge economy and have a very high level of education (in general, at least. There's always the deadbeats that don't want to learn anything)

Works quite nicely, actually.

Me? Not so much, but then I don't make a lot of money yet as I'm still young.

And I would be making even less if the state didn't help me get an education because I definately wouldn't have been able to afford one otherwise.

So when I do start making money, I'll gladly pay a lot of taxes to give other kids the same chances I had Smile

Re: Hating country, leaving, and all that jazz
Eh.  While there are certainly parts about my country I detest, when you have people leaving because they don't like parts, the people that get left behind are often left without that dissenting voice that helped keep things towards the middle, rather then at the extremes.  So I'd rather stay and try to make things better then just abandon the baby with the bathwater.

Oh, and...
