Hey guys,

Hmm... it looks like my old account on gleemax didn't survive the transition.... anyway, I'm back on the Wizards forums, w0000!

I'm the author of "King of RPGs", an upcoming manga-influenced graphic novel series about tabletop roleplaying (www.kingofrpgs.com), and I'm doing a contest where I'm giving away a whole bunch of graphic novels (and some dice and RPG supplements) to the people who send me the most interesting role-playing game characters!

The contest link and details are here:

If you're into manga or graphic novels, please check it out! So far I've gotten more contest entries from people in the manga/anime world, but I also play D&D and other RPGs (I'm running a couple of 4e games at the moment) so, fellow gamers, please represent!

All the best,

Jason Thompson

Interesting, but one question:
Location limitations? Do contesters have to be from USA or Canada or can be from anywhere in the world (Poland, for example)?

Quite Interesting, indeed. Though I don't actually plan to enter the contest, for general fun and to give a sort of model for submissions, here is one of my 3.5 characters, who used a homebrew class I made:

Lykando Moontinker(Half-elf Druid 2/ Expert 1/ Disciple of the Strange 12): A half-elf, Lykando (Lykan for short), started life in a way most unusual. As opposed to being raised by elves, humans, half-elves, or alone, Lykan was raised by gnomes. After finding him on their front doorstep, the Moontinker family quickly adopted him, after finding that he had no parents and that no one else would take him. Lykan spent most of his early years doing one or another of his favorite interests: tinkering with his adopted gnome father and brothers, or playing with animals out in the woods. The latter hobby made his adoptive parents worried. While Lykan had played with animals such as squirrels and bunnies during his years as an infant, as he grew older, his animal friends grew to include deer, bears, and the occasional wolf. Since he obviously preferred his animal friends over tinkering, once Lykan came into his teenage years, his family apprenticed him to a druid. All went well during the initial training. Lykan learned nature magic, gained an animal companion, and generally got on with animals. The druid Lykan was apprenticed to sensed a strange shift in Lykan's habits and abilities after a while. As time passed, Lykan grew more interested in animals and monsters other than those found in nature, and became fascinated by how each ones' special abilities worked. The druid grew apprehensive to this, but continued Lykan's training. The shift in Lykan's abilities came to the fore when they encountered a strange goblin. This goblin encountered them when on patrol. The druid cast an offensive spell to destroy the goblin, but to his suprise, not only did the goblin shrug off the blow, it turned into a large wolf and attacked! It was a barghest! The druid thought he was doomed, until Lykan changed into a wolf much like the one attacking him, and began to communicate urgently with the barghest. All of a sudden, the barghest not only ceased attacking, but went away. Later on, the druid questioned Lykan about the barghest's behavior, and where he had learned the ability to turn into a wolf like that. Lykan casually replied that the barghest was a friend, and that it had taught him how to do that. It was then that the druid realized that his apprentice was a Disciple of Strange, and sent him to Oddity University, where he grew in power and skill studying the abilities of monsters and making them his own, until an old friend of his stopped by, asking him to join an adventuring party he was starting. Since then, Lykan has taken to adventuring, and has enjoyed using his abilities in the field.
Personality and Looks: Lykan is a moderately handsome black-haired half-elf. His most notable physical features are his eyes, which shift colors depending on his mood, and his deceivingly lean physique(Lykan never exercises and often gorges himself, but can often outdo his friends at physical tasks). Lykan is a generally charismatic, clever, smart, and easygoing fellow, attracting many friends and admirers. He is always eager to assist anyone with anything, and has a somewhat mutable code of honor, which involves keeping his promises, never telling a lie (though he is still able to deceive people), and yet somehow being able to use some techniques some would consider dishonorable in fights. The only thing about Lykan that contrasts with his general personality are his occasional eccentric outbursts, his tendency to be extra alert at crossroads and sewing shops, and his disinterest in romantic relationships.
