| #2blowfishNov 14, 2008 8:56:24 | Thanks, now all I need are people willing to play with me... |
| #3kurskNov 14, 2008 9:01:52 | And here's one based off AD&D 1E (also using the OGL) "# It aims to recreate 1e within the OGL" Why not just play 1E? Thanks. Maybe I'm missing s/g. |
| #4werralNov 14, 2008 11:21:17 | It's really just a way for publishes to continue to support the old games. For example the 1974 game is a collectors item so not something you'd pick up easily. Osric is compatible with AD&D so say you picked up the 1E DMG, you could use that with OSRIC or maybe you bought some old modules. Or say you're a 3rd party publisher and want to publish an old school module or accessory without referencing copyright material. And of course they're for people that might never have seen these games. |

| #6werralNov 16, 2008 14:40:22 | Yes Osric is more a "Restatement " of the AD&D rules without breaching copyright, rather than a true "tribute game" (like Castles and Crusades which is a D20 game with a sort of old-school flavour) |
