| #1Ragnar_LodbrokAug 21, 2011 23:36:13 | As it was brought up elsewhere, I'm beginning to consider putting up another of those OTT RP threads. This may help with getting more regulars (I started posting her because of the second Edition War). If I start it, there probably will not be an associated game. It would be in a generic fantasy setting; I'd rather not impose the limits of my own on free-form RP (at least not in the OTT). So, the question is, how many of you would be interested? |
| #2trappedsliderAug 22, 2011 0:52:24 | i would be,but it may be a good idea for those who wish to take part in a less CoC complaint version be done in the group,as not to get it locked due any sort of violation. |
| #3zombie_babiesAug 22, 2011 9:56:50 | Our RP stuff actually has a really good record of CoC compliance. It's ... odd that way. Seriously, though, I'm sure it'd be fine. We never had a game or RP thread killed by mods. By size? Yep. By boredom? Yep. But not by ORCfire. And I may be interested. I don't know what to do, though. I mean, it'll be tough for me to find something I liked as much as CC. |
| #4ADHadhAug 22, 2011 10:31:27 | Count me out, as usual. |
| #5trappedsliderAug 22, 2011 13:46:34 | Our RP stuff actually has a really good record of CoC compliance. It's ... odd that way. oh okay,i'd like to know more detials along with offer any help I can to help with the setting itself for this game |
| #6homicidal_squirrelAug 22, 2011 14:14:41 | This sounds interesting. I'm intrigued. |
| #7WolfLordBranAug 22, 2011 14:38:39 | You have my interest but I do have a question: What setting (ie D&D, Warhammer Fantasy/40k) would it be, just so I'd have an idea? |
| #8zombie_babiesAug 22, 2011 14:58:59 | The last few settings were not specific at all - or, if it were game-based, it'd be stuff that members here made up. There would be like three threads for the game: an RP thread, a game action thread and a game rule suggestion/discussion thread. So, all of it was kind of made up here by the people playign the game. Since this will be just an RP thing (if it happens), though, I don't know if there'll be a setting or not. Ragnar would have to answer that. But we had all sorts of oddball characters that really wouldn't have made sense together in any specific system or setting. And it worked well enough, too. I would guess that it would be that open again in order to try and recapture that Tavern RP feel but I could also be totally wrong, heh. ![]() |

| #16trappedsliderAug 22, 2011 22:50:26 | Welcome to the wonderful metropolis of Atlon (subject to changed) captial city of the kingdom of Atlonia (also subject to change) The city's population rest at justy under 2 million people divded up amonges the classes unevenly. Upper (which contains most if not all of the city's local government, and those who are in the court of the king Atlon X (subject to change) and the upper members of the other noble houses (no names at this point) of the kingdom. The middle class make up the majority of the government workers, here is where the city geti's functioniaries, the clarks, city guard/armed forces( but not the capints and high ranking offericers thsoe come from the upper classes) The lower class which makes up the rest is also were the normal level grunts for the armed forces come from, along with those who handle most of the dirty jobs of the city. The city is roughly divied up by sections of fuction, the center of the city holds the Castle where the king and his family live and work and the court gather. Then surrounding that is the city's government center. Then divded by a row of parks and publica aereas are numerous market places, and then the Upper classes residential area. The houses here were well guards and the city's lights are kept in working by use of magic. Then on the outter areas are the middle and lwoer class areas, which are hardly patroled by anyone, other than citizen groups, and if you want to see you're way in the dark then you better have your own light. About 5 miles south of the center of the city are the docks, that bring in trade goods and fish to be sold ot the market palce. It's heavily patroled by the city gaurd, howver there is also a small black market forming here handled by the theives guild. Then 2 miles west from the center of town is the wizard's school ( bite me) they are hired by the king to help keep parts of the city from the darkness along with any magical problems that pop up. It is heavily guared by spells and wizards. The wizards themselves are drawn from all classes. Getting back to the marketplace one of the more popular hangouts is called The Sword and the Club ( can be changed) Here you'll find commoners dicussing things with nobles,Class distections are left at the door. However unbeknowest to the vast majority in the subasement is the theive's guild headquaters, The acess point is knowen only to members and not even the owner of the taveren is aaware of it being located there. EDIT: And down by the docks is The Drunken Seagull Taveren and Inn,it's mainly used by the sailors and passengers of the docks, anyone looking for passage normaly comes here to look for a ship or a job on a ship. |

The Drunken Seagull Taveren is ran by former pirate Dulu, If you're seeking passge or a job there is a large board filled with notices for everything from looking for ship hands to looking for passengers. The king's court: Where is where most if not all of hte poltical intrigue happens. The king is married to the queen but he has been knowen to take a mistress or two. Everone here knows of this but no one speaks of it openly. The king can hand out favors to those hw likes and strip those who have displease of any titles or lands they currently have. The theives guild has a few of the nobles on thire payroll,in order for some things to remain quit the theives guild gets info, along with pressure on the mayor to keep the city guard from going after them too harshly. |
| #32KillerGMAug 23, 2011 19:30:53 | Eh, the more defined things get, the less interested I become. I think part of the "charm" of the old Edition Wars (at least, that I was part of) was the fact that it was bat-poop crazy and everyone had everything going on. I enjoyed the chaotic creation of it all. I mean, if the city was made more generic than it is now (such as the ruling structure and stuff - that should definitely be filled by OTTers, not a "DM"), I suppose it could interest me. ![]() I've got so many "normal" ideas that I'll never get to play that it would be a nice outlet for them, and even some of my zanier ones, to boot! |

| #38pigknightAug 23, 2011 22:08:01 | The door to the Tavern flew open and the well known jolly Knight of Pigs walked into the pub and sat down at the bar. He had less of a spring in his step and he looked slightly off. People had noticed that ever since his near-death experience their porcine pal was not quite the same. His once shining, silver armor was now dull and cracking, his blade was nicked and blunted. He wore a hood over his face and a mask covered his face; the only part of his body anyone could see were his eyes, which had a hint of malice in them. "Milkshake," the pig said, pulling out a sack of gold coins from his belt. The bartender looked worried at the changed pig and tried to look at his eyes; the pig looked in the eyes of the bartender and added, "with a side of tomato sauce." |

| #73EscherEnigmaAug 23, 2011 20:54:40 | I'm out. As may have been noticed, I'm not here much anymore. |
| #74Cpt_MichaAug 23, 2011 21:05:58 | As it was brought up elsewhere, I'm beginning to consider putting up another of those OTT RP threads. Possibly. I'm starting to get back into the swing of rping again. |
| #75pigknightAug 23, 2011 21:13:03 | Just make it a huge Ravnica-ish city with no defined places until we get there. |

| #78pigknightAug 23, 2011 22:08:01 | The door to the Tavern flew open and the well known jolly Knight of Pigs walked into the pub and sat down at the bar.
