Is it because I called Wheel of Time critically acclaimed or because I confused it with Game of Thrones? Both?

And you have a tofu projector!? I have no idea what that is but it sounds way kool ,rad even!

That you even dared compare the two.

Indeed! Much cooler and rad than guns. Guns are bad. Tofu projectors are good. No animals are hurt when tested, made or fired!

Guns are good.

Guns make reasonably intelligent bad guys run away, or surrender until you shoot them and bury their bodies under the compost pile the police arrive to take them away.

Guns also make stupid bad guys (ie, bad guys who clearly see that you are armed) run at you insanely, and then you shoot them and then bury the bodies under the compost pile and clean up the blood call the police and report the incident.

Unless, you know, the bad guy has a gun.

That's ignoring your inability to hit anything under those circumstances, too.

No, a gun lets impotent old men overcompensate, and then get shot. Or shoot an innocent person because of said old man's raging boner and idiocy.

And a person doesn't like what another person has said on the internet, so the first person tracks the second one down and shoots it with a gun. Cause he's not right in the head.

Better to not let people have guns, cause they get butt hurt over the most ridiculous things.

Yeah, HD said it. If you've evr been anywhere in public you know that people are unpredictable, unstable, and liable to blow their lid at a perceived insult. Too dangerous for them to be allowed to have a gun in their pocket.

See, what you did right here is provide an excellent example in support of allowing people to legally carry guns.  Cuz, you know, those unpredictable, unstable and liable to blow their lid folks may well be illegally carrying one.  ;)

And not even that ZB.
Suppose they just had a knife and wanted to stab somebody in the face... you know, just for fun. Or maybe they pick up a brick and start busting heads.
Things other than guns can be weapons.
I think the anti-gun nuts just don't get that.

It'S funny cause the same day there was the shooting at Sandyhook, there was a guy in China who went into a school with a knife. All the kids and teacher survived, not the case of Sandyhook.

Impossible.  People can make them right now - and they don't need 3d printers to do it.  Live in the now, brah.  It's much more realer than the could be if things weren't the way they actually are.

It would reduce shootings by a lot, and that is more significant than letting people buy them and shoot willy nilly like right now. ;)

But less murder being good is hard to grasp, I know.

Guns are far more dangerous and easy to use than a knife. If you're angry i's so easy to whip out your .40 S&W and pull the trigger. Besides which, there's no reason not to take measures to solve part of a problem even if other problems remain.

I would say they are equally dangerous, and, believe it or not, it is easier to use a knife than a gun.

I don't believe it. You need to have some degree of training or you can just read a manual. SDure, guns require mantenence but I'd wager most people who use one in anger hae recently picked it up and haven't started worrying about that.  And guns are far, far more dangerous,. There is absolutely no contest there whatsoever.

It's also a bit harder for medical professionals to work with knife wounds than with bullet wounds. Turns out that a large, sharp piece of metal can be used to do a lot more damage than the average handgun bullet.

I would say the range, rate of fire and ammunition capacity makes guns more dangerous than knives.

I will however add that knives are more readily available.
#34

Robin_Hoodlum

Mar 13, 2013 17:23:00
But one can kill someone with a knife just as easily as with a gun.
Sure, a knife doesn't have the range a gun does, but beyond 20 feet, without any training, good luck hitting your target. However, one can stick you in the gut with a knife pretty easily. Well, one can shot you in the face from 2 or 3 feet pretty easily too.
As far as ammo, after your gun runs out, you're through. However, one can just keep stabbing the out of you with a knife until their arm gets tired.

Yeah, guns and knives are equally dangerous. What makes the difference is who is using it and why.

So please, take the anti-gun nuttiness somewhere else.
Thanks!
