Has anybody’s opinion on the series improved yet? A lot of the people I’ve talked to say that it's getting better, and most of those people are so used to the true television greats that they judge anything else pretty harshly. Like how the same guy’s vampire series started with stupid episodes about mantises, puppets, and robots, but then it got so much better than that.

Honestly, it really seems like the guy's almost-superhero show has gotten to that same point by now. Yes, some of the plot-of-the-weeks started out pretty sketchy at times, but that’s not the most important concern, is it? Dozens of shows have been full of episodes with “technically correct” plots, but still fell flat because we didn’t care about the people that the plots were happening to, didn’t they? Repetitious, formulaic episodes that dominate a series aren’t as interesting to me as stories where not-quite-polished happenings make me feel like real, emotional people are being effected, and when the series suddenly went from “cops” to “vigilantes,” it really felt to me like the characters were caught as off-guard as the rest of us were. Anybody else think so, or is this whole rant just a hairdryer in a hurricane of “it sucks”?
