Interesting. Now I'm even happier that I never forced myself to read those crappy books or watch the crappy movies.

Not crappy. Mediocre. Which is worse, because if they were crappy they'd at least be special in some way.

Fair enough. As I said, I never read them. Good to know I made the right call.

I read the first five and have no intention of finishing the series. I simply do not give a **** how it ends.

EDIT: I know a total perfectionist who knows about the aforementioned. It drives her insane every time I mention it.

Seems I lucked out twice now. Didn't read HP and I never touched The Wheel of Time stuff, either. Now if only I could go back in time and stop myself from picking up anything by Terry Goodkind ...

Haha, nice.

I actually read the series - not only that, every time a new one came out, I went back and re-read everything from the beginning... until the fifth book. Up to there, I thought the books were great, all original with their teenage wizard apprentice school stuff... and then came the contrived Armageddon scenario, the completely implausible character twists, and a philosophical epilogue worthy of Matrix Reloaded in both size and BS percentage... yeah. Sad, though, 'cause those first few were a decent enough idea.

Cracked has been doing a lot of nerd humor recently. I approve.

That was an amusing read. I don't think Cracked is more my style, them seem to try to hard to make things funny (which makes if even funnier for some people), just not me. Still, it was a pleasant giggle or three. :D
