| #2grehnheweJul 07, 2011 18:19:09 | How reliable is this news source? I did a search and did not really recognise any of the other sources running this story. It would be a world changing discovery. Conspiracy theory or farce? I enjoy this kind of stuff in fiction. |
| #3JhariiJul 07, 2011 18:20:01 | There are stories throughout ancient history, religious texts, and mythology of giants and giant men from all corners of the earth. There is logic to assume that some of these stories have some threads of truth. To what level, we will never know until we actually discover more. This could be one such discovery. |

I think there is something to the fact that similar myths/legends appear throughout the world from different eras of history, culture and geographical locations. I guess I am more with Joseph Campbell on this than with ancient astronaut theories. I will be thrilled to be proven wrong if any physical evidence comes to light. I believe it is possible, just not probable. |

I believe it is possible, just not probable. I don't subscribe to either theory. I am just under the belief that we simply don't know the truth yet. That's why we keep searching for it and it would be irresponsible to dismiss any potentially credible source. |

| #10OleOneEyeJul 07, 2011 23:18:02 | hehe...the article says they have no mouth, nose, or eyes, but the picture clearly shows a mouth, nose, and what looks like the corner of an eye. |
| #11pluisjenJul 08, 2011 2:41:56 | This is not the first such finding. In the summer of 1937 Yeah.... 70 years ago, yet nobody ever heard of this news of alien visitors before. I'm certain that makes reports like this very trustworthy. |
| #12JhariiJul 08, 2011 3:48:20 | hehe...the article says they have no mouth, nose, or eyes, but the picture clearly shows a mouth, nose, and what looks like the corner of an eye. Yeah, that picture is not from the dig... which makes its inclusion rather silly. |
| #13zombie_babiesJul 08, 2011 12:53:57 | And the lack of included pictures in the article makes the entire thing rather suspect. EDIT: After reading the comments, I have determined who lokiare is: Brian Gregor. Comment made July 6. ![]() |
| #14homicidal_squirrelJul 08, 2011 13:16:01 | You guys didn't bother to read trapslider's post or follow his link did you? Yes, it's fake. How reliable is this news source? I did a search and did not really recognise any of the other sources running this story. It would be a world changing discovery. Conspiracy theory or farce? I enjoy this kind of stuff in fiction. |
| #15zombie_babiesJul 08, 2011 13:27:57 | Oh yeah, I read that. Not that I needed to, but I did. Just wanted to mention a reason to think it's fake that's readily apparent in the article itself. If ya wanna prove the man and mainstream media wrong, pics typically help. |
| #16JhariiJul 08, 2011 13:34:37 | Whether the story is fake or not does not impact the potential for interesting conversation. |
| #17zombie_babiesJul 08, 2011 14:06:16 | Anyone agree with me about who I think lokiare is? I bet nonya bastuhds even checked it. ![]() |
| #18homicidal_squirrelJul 08, 2011 14:15:14 | Anyone agree with me about who I think lokiare is? I bet nonya bastuhds even checked it. First, yes, I think Brian Gregor is Lokaire. Second, no one likes you. That's why they didn't pay attention to you :-p |
| #19zombie_babiesJul 08, 2011 14:16:40 | Ok, so long as nobody pays attention. I'd hate to have to start wearin' clothes an' stop poopin' in the street. |
| #20EscherEnigmaJul 08, 2011 16:20:19 | Anyone agree with me about who I think lokiare is? I bet nonya bastuhds even checked it. I disagree with you. That Brian Gregor fellow's style (at least in that one example) of using his caps lock key for emphasis isn't something typical of Lokiare. |
| #21EscherEnigmaJul 08, 2011 16:38:40 | If I somehow meet any of you in person and somehow realize who you are that's something diferent. Probably wouldn't recognize me with my shirt on. With it off is a different matter. |
| #22bone_nagaJul 08, 2011 16:41:11 | Anyone agree with me about who I think lokiare is? I bet nonya bastuhds even checked it. I agree I just didn't think it was worth mentioning. |
| #23EscherEnigmaJul 08, 2011 16:49:40 | Just poking fun at the amount of shirtless picks I've shared. Speaking of which, I really need to get those pictures from the SO. |
| #24toastedamphibianJul 09, 2011 8:15:10 | I think you accidently did that thing where you used from when you ment of. Happens to alot of people. That and the whole think/hope thing. |
| #25EscherEnigmaJul 09, 2011 11:28:58 | Nah, he was the cameraman for the trip. I don't think we got any pictures of him. |
| #26Cpt_MichaJul 09, 2011 18:04:01 | Yeah seeing EE with a shirt, would be confusing. It'd be like you guys seeing me without a Hawaiian shirt on. |
| #27Robin_HoodlumJul 09, 2011 22:05:50 | Yeah seeing EE with a shirt, would be confusing. It'd be like you guys seeing me without a Hawaiian shirt on. I prefer to see EE without a shirt. He's cute and he knows it... don't let him fool you, he likes going shirtless... ![]() And Cap'n... you have shirtless pics floatin' 'round too! |
| #28lokiareJul 09, 2011 23:43:12 | And the lack of included pictures in the article makes the entire thing rather suspect. | #32dirtyfrankJul 11, 2011 1:56:06 | There are stories throughout ancient history, religious texts, and mythology of giants and giant men from all corners of the earth. There is logic to assume that some of these stories have some threads of truth. To what level, we will never know until we actually discover more. This could be one such discovery. Yeah there has been stuff like that. IIRC there are some writings from early written record (like Mesopotamia or something) of humans hunting a large ape man. Ya know possible big foot and all. How reliable is this news source? I did a search and did not really recognise any of the other sources running this story. It would be a world changing discovery. Conspiracy theory or farce? I enjoy this kind of stuff in fiction. Oh yeah, I read that. Not that I needed to, but I did. Just wanted to mention a reason to think it's fake that's readily apparent in the article itself. If ya wanna prove the man and mainstream media wrong, pics typically help. pics usually do help. What also helps is that if you use the title of Dr. at least having the published papers that you're required to have in order to get that PhD title. For instance with any of my (Dr.) professors I can think of as well as many scientists that have come to me university for talks if I were to google them some of the first few finds would be either to published papers or a site that has links or references to all of them. And a few of my professors are published like 40+ times. If this Dr. has no search result come up for him he's a fraud. Lack-O'-Pictures tends to be the big give away these days, but also being a total ghost* is another. RE: EE I think about 90%+ pics of EE are of him shirtless. I'm not sure I'd recognize him right away regardless but probably even less if he had a shirt on. ____________________ *The only "ghosts" these days with our tech and freedom of info tend to be people highly involved in top secret government stuff,** but in that case they'd not be announcing a find like this. **An example would be with my dad who worked for the government at McClellan air force base for a while. He worked with some top secret stuffs. A while ago my sister and some of her friends tried doing a full background search on my dad (my sister seems to do this on everyone she knows for lols or something or maybe she's just a nosy [blank]) and all that came up is that he graduated high school and got married like a year or two later. Nothing else about him seemed to appear until like a few years ago. So like 30 yrs of my dad's life is just a mystery and junk internet search wise. |
