Almost Time for Another American Revolution?

My personal prediction is that by 2050, America will either be no more, or will be to the 2050s what soviet Russia was to the 1950s. It is no longer a matter of "when we are no longer a free country", but "how long have we not been a free country".

There will be rebellions and uprising, sure. But the difference between a civil war/uprising and a revolution is who wins.

For example, if/when the healthcare bill is passed, I will be going to jail, because I refuse to take part in it for ideological and ethical reasons. The fact that it is so close to being passed at all is a sign of the times.

You refuse to have medical insurance for ethical reasons? Unless you're going to pay for all your hospital bills in cash, I have to disagree with you there. Every time someone without insurance goes to the hospital and can't pay, someone else has to pick up the tab.

And there won't be a revolution anytime soon. Most Americans don't have the motivation nor inclination. Not to mention that we have a system of government where if enough people to launch a successful revolution wanted to change something, they could get it changed the legal way.

On a side note, the government probably does have more power than it should, but it still has a lot less than many people believe.

I've worked in medicine before. I know. Having insurance isn't the problem. It's:
a) that the government is requiring me to buy something I don't want, and
b) paying for that insurance is paying for everything that the insurance funds, including the mass murder of children, to which I am opposed on many levels.

Sorry if I'm completely derailing this, but this made me double-take: are you saying that the hypothetical healthcare would pay for an elective abortion?
