I guess the broken code caused you to malfunction.  He covered it. this was an ad on another site but look at the guy in the middle! how can you wear your hat backwards that often? Here's the pic. But to answer the question, you can get fried like that on a sunny day in just a few hours if you aren't careful.  Take that from someone with a shaved dome and a Jeep.

The first weekend I shaved my head, I was in a softball tournament...  maybe 31 at the time.  I didn't wear a hat, and didn't think to pack the sunblock.  I was a noob at it.  8 hours in the glaring 95 degree sun equated to 2nd degree burns.  It was freaking gross.  LOL. I learned from that, but I'll forget on occasion, but never to that extent.
#11 zombie_babies Apr 28, 2011 12:51:48	Yeah, I went to the Outer Banks and forgot to bring a hat.  No biggie, right?  Well, a few hours fishing on the beach later, my scalp (even though I had hair) was Ohio State crimson.  Showers for the rest of the trip - and sometime afterward - were excruciating.  I could only stand warmish water on my scalp for seconds at a time which resulted in repeated dunkings.  Torture.  And when it healed?  I was pullin' two inch long chunks of dead scalp out of my hair for a couple of weeks.  Awesome.  I bought a hat after I was burnt, but more importantly, I learned a valuable lesson.  I have very short hair and I'm certain this would happen again.  Therefore, any prolonged period out of doors from mid spring through early fall requires that I wear a hat.  And I do.
#12 iqwinn Apr 28, 2011 22:43:57	I don't wear ball caps when I'm working in the sun.  I prefer to wear (as I call it) my Indiana Jones hat (because it looks like Indy's hat, of course).  It's also useful for batting away hornets that I have accidentally intruded upon.  Of course, when that happens, I get the big black can of Raid; I love how it kills the little ****s on contact, and from 20 feet away!
