If any of you listened to and enjoyed the Penny Arcade/PvP D&D podcasts, like I did, you probably eagerly looked forward to a new series of them, and were even more excited when they added Wil Wheaton to the cast. I remember audibly yelping with joy when the Dark Sun series with Tycho DMing was announced (not that I don't enjoy Mr. Chris Perkins.)

Anyway, around a month or so ago I started my own podcast, Talking Through Tubes, which for the first couple of episodes was of a pretty standard "two guys talking" genre. However, inspired by both my love of the D&D podcasts (which proved to me that such a thing could work and be enjoyable), and my desire to get my co-host and some of his friends interested in D&D, I thought "I wonder if we could make a D&D podcast half as good as theirs."

Whether it actually is or not I can't really say, but I can say that it was recorded with the specific goal of making something that would better reflect the actual workings of a typical game, where an audience could listen as a party levels, evolves, traverses their environment, as opposed to a series of one-shot single session adventures. Because three of the four players were entirely new to the game, I thought it would be easiest to give them the four Essentials classes, and so the podcast is also a live example of those classes in action, which is interesting in and of itself if you are familiar with 4th Edition. So, if you enjoy D&D sessions intermixed and laced with humor, give it a listen at talkingthroughtubes, or in iTunes,  and see what you think.

NB: To those of you who actually do choose to listen, you might be put off by the sound quality of the first two D&D episodes, which is listenable but not spectacular. Do not worry! After the first week we realized the sound wasn't as good as we wanted it to be and got a new audio set-up, and so all the future episodes will sound much better (as good as the pre-D&D episodes we were doing.)

I thought this would be the perfect place to reach out to people who may be interested in such a project; we're going to keep going with these, so you can listen in and see a group dynamic as it develops. Thank you for your time, forumites!
