| #1zombie_babiesJul 29, 2013 16:09:09 | Link Apparently the new Star Bores won't focus on effects - it's focus will be on the story. Seems they fogot that Lucas went all out on effects cuz the story he had was really, really terrible. |
| #2jetshieldJul 29, 2013 16:22:47 | Or maybe the story was really, really terrible because he spent all the time and money on effects. ![]() |
| #3captain_obliviousJul 29, 2013 16:33:05 | if you never liked it to begin with, why are you so obsessed with it now? I mean, I agree that sitting though the new SW will be like sitting through catholic mass if it were held at the dmv, but I'm only upset about it because my childhood memories have been **** on. Why do YOU care? I must know. |

| #5Cluless_RatJul 29, 2013 17:38:12 | Link Glad you keep us OTTers up dated on this, ZB. |
| #6CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 29, 2013 17:42:50 | Link +1 |
| #7bone_nagaJul 29, 2013 19:01:34 | Link +2, I don't keep up with movie news on my own; I probably never would have read that if you hadn't linked it, thanks. |
| #8zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 7:59:52 | if you never liked it to begin with, why are you so obsessed with it now? Why? Cuz a bunch of no talent idiots will be making millions of dollars. Because a bunch of idiots will pay money to see this garbage. It's a dual statement on the current nature of man and it isn't saying anything good. A more apt question would be 'how can anyone not be concerned by this?'. ;) Link Link Link I know it seems like I was bein' all nice an' all but I had a pretty selfish motive. See, I love to make fun of Star Bores and when I ran across this li'l gem online I knew it was giving me another opportunity to do so. ![]() |
| #9homicidal_squirrelJul 30, 2013 8:05:34 | Link There is one good thing coming out of this. Since they will be focusing on the "story," the movie should just be the starting credits and the end credits. So it should be only about five minutes long. |
| #10zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 8:32:56 | Link That's a good point. Hopefully they'll remake the Christmas Special or something. That trippy Wookie scene where he bangs that chick or whatever is the best stuff Lucas has ever done. |
| #11homicidal_squirrelJul 30, 2013 8:54:02 | Link That scene alone has more "story" than everything else Lucas has written combined. |
| #12zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 9:11:22 | Yup. And it made a lot more sense, too. I mean, the whole Jedi premise is so dumb. Penicillin can take their powers away? Yeah, that's so good it's like M Knight's Signs twist. ![]() |
| #13homicidal_squirrelJul 30, 2013 9:18:12 | Yup. And it made a lot more sense, too. I mean, the whole Jedi premise is so dumb. Penicillin can take their powers away? Yeah, that's so good it's like M Knight's Signs twist. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Star Bores movie ends with a scene showing ho the force-bacteria didn't actually give anyone powers, but instead gave them hallucinations. Like, it would be a great way of saying that none of those terrible movies ever happened. |
| #14zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 9:48:11 | Hmm ... that may actually make the movies watchable. Wait. No, no it wouldn't. ![]() EDIT: Maybe if the bacteria force thingies were actually some virus that eventually made jedi rectally bleed to death? That may be better. |
| #15homicidal_squirrelJul 30, 2013 12:02:11 | I think you and I should start writing that script. It's a much better idea than anything they have. |
| #16zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 12:18:39 | I would love to rewrite Yoda's death scene to him in a bathroom and out of toilet paper forced to use his robe to wipe the blood from where it shouldn't be and then die, naked, on his li'l creeper sized pooper. Maybe I'll have him mumble some Elvis lyrics in his death throes, too. 'Step on my blue suede shoes you must not ... *fart noises, blood splatter* ... uhhh ... *death*' Fin. |
| #17homicidal_squirrelJul 30, 2013 12:58:38 | That would obviously have to be the very first scene. |
| #18ADHadhJul 30, 2013 13:08:48 | Still a better story than Snore Trek. |
| #19Cluless_RatJul 30, 2013 13:22:06 | Still a better story than Snore Trek. Right. Cause you totally cried when Qui-Gon Jinn died, but not when Spock was killed. |
| #20The_SilverswordJul 30, 2013 13:34:14 | Still a better story than Snore Trek. Was that you? When I first saw Star Trek II in the theater some dude started crying, loudly, saying stuff like, Spock! Noooooooo!!! Not Spock!!! Whoever it was didnt seem to realize that it was a movie, and that they would bring Spock back to life in the next movie. No one cried when Qui-Gon died when I saw that one, I think that really says something about the type of people who like Star Wars compared to the people who like Star Trek. |
| #21zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 13:54:20 | That would obviously have to be the very first scene. I was thinking last but you may be on to something. Imagine how awful those Star Bores morons would feel seeing that happen first off! Awesome ... though we may need to introduce the death by rectal bleeding thing before ... wait, no we don't! That can be the whole plot! The rest of them incestuous idiots can spend the rest of the movie trying to find out what happened to Yoda and then trying to stop it from happening to them! They won't be able to, of course, but it'll be funny to see them try. Like, I imagine ewok fur being shoved places to try and stop it for one ... yeah, this is gonna be awesome! Still a better story than Snore Trek. Of course it is, I wrote it. |
| #22Cluless_RatJul 30, 2013 14:01:16 | Still a better story than Snore Trek. Yes, Star Bores fans are soulless. |
| #23zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 14:05:38 | Yes, Star Bores fans are soulless. Yep, if it don't have a lazer beam, incest or a blatantly racist overtone they can't be reached. It's no wonder they all love Bay and Bolle so much. Right up their alley. |
| #24bone_nagaJul 30, 2013 14:50:30 | Yes, Star Bores fans are soulless. Why do you have to hate on Luke and Leia? They're two consenting adults! And you should be more tolerant of the Jedi alternative lifestyle choice. |
| #25zombie_babiesJul 30, 2013 15:03:12 | Why do you have to hate on Luke and Leia? They're two consenting adults! And you should be more tolerant of the Jedi alternative lifestyle choice. Is incest really something we wanna teach our kids is ok? And I'm tolerant of the jedi lifestyle choice ... now that it's been determined that anyone who's a jedi will die painfully on the toilet. |
| #26mykroxJul 30, 2013 18:31:58 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. I also cried at the end of Battle Beyond the Stars, but for a different reason. It was sooo bad. But seriously, an entire empire crumbles because the boss and his heavy are killed. Worse infrastructure than a DeathStar...Ohhh!!!...too soon? |
| #27CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 30, 2013 18:48:12 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. Um....the Empire dosen't crumble at all. It's still there 140 years later. But I guess it's easier to make fun of something when you know nothing about it. That's ZB's secret. ;) |
| #28bone_nagaJul 30, 2013 19:05:22 | Is incest really something we wanna teach our kids is ok? And I'm tolerant of the jedi lifestyle choice ... now that it's been determined that anyone who's a jedi will die painfully on the toilet. You just can't accept it because you can't move past the silly words written in your book of Star Trek myths. What would Shatner do? |
| #29EscherEnigmaJul 30, 2013 22:54:11 | A more apt question would be 'how can anyone not be concerned by this?'. ;) Because if I got my panties in a twist every time American extravagence shoveled obscene amounts of money into undeserving people's pockets then my balls would never have had room to drop. As a side note, I think "the force as an STD" has been done before. |
| #30The_SilverswordJul 31, 2013 2:57:56 | Still a better story than Snore Trek. Actually what I was getting at is that Star Trek fans take too seriously, like its really happening or something, whereas Star Wars fans (most of us anyways) realize that its just a movie and is meant for mindless entertainment. And Lazer Swords are ing AWESOME!!!! |
| #31The_SilverswordJul 31, 2013 3:00:24 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. No, ZB's secret is that hes seen every single Star Wars movie (even the Clone Wars) and the Holiday special, more than once even. He even had a Lazer Sword as a kid and used to beat people up when they wouldnt let him be Luke. |
| #32The_SilverswordJul 31, 2013 3:01:38 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. Oh, god! You probably cried when ET died too didnt you? |
| #33zombie_babiesJul 31, 2013 8:49:38 | You just can't accept it because you can't move past the silly words written in your book of Star Trek myths. What would Shatner do? He would decide not to act in a Star Bores movie cuz even he has more class than that. Because if I got my panties in a twist every time American extravagence shoveled obscene amounts of money into undeserving people's pockets then my balls would never have had room to drop. It's not an STD - it's a conventional bacterial infection ... though I suppose we could make it an STD. A li'l hard core pr0n would go a long way toward making a Star Bores plot better. |
| #34CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 31, 2013 13:32:58 | A more apt question would be 'how can anyone not be concerned by this?'. ;) ZB takes stuff like this way too seriously. Just something you have to learn to live with, I guess. Must be awful hard on his wife, though. If she really exists. :shiftY: |
| #35CorranHornIsAwesomeJul 31, 2013 13:34:08 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. ZB strikes me as more of a "Princess Leia" type. |
| #36mykroxJul 31, 2013 18:58:41 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. I was 11. My Mom took me to see it. Of course I cried. |
| #37mykroxJul 31, 2013 19:17:16 | I cried during that scene in Star Trek II. 140 yrs.!!! Really haven't kept up with it. Although as far as sides,I'm pro-Empire. I mean PRO-EMPIRE. I'm the guy fetching Palpatine his morning coffee. Me:" Emperor Palpatine, you know what the doctor said about your blood pressure. No sugar,now...don't you give me that look.Who's going to run the Empire if you take ill? Now,how 'bout that paper. Ooh,looks like the Rebels are massing near Sullust..you're not worried? Well you are the Emperor, you know best." Palpatine: "Is the Toast Star...operational? I'll have a bagel. Then my breakfast will be complete." |
| #38ADHadhAug 01, 2013 5:09:46 | Still a better story than Snore Trek. I didn't see any of Star Trek movies and don't plan to. The series alone is boring and uninspiring enough. It's like the definition of talky and cheap looking, i.e. how not to make sci-fi. In fact, Star Trek is the reason why I avoided sci fi for years ![]() |
| #39zombie_babiesAug 01, 2013 9:20:26 | Did you - a Star Bores fan - just say you don't watch cheap looking sci-fi? I bet you love Dr Who, too! ![]() |
| #40CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 01, 2013 10:09:03 | Did you - a Star Bores fan - just say you don't watch cheap looking sci-fi? Star Wars certainly isn't cheap looking, at leats the preuqels, no matter what you think of it. You yourself have said that it had a high effect budget. But, this is really pointless. You don't really care about what you're talking about, you'r just trying to make yourself feel better about your choices in entertainment. |
| #41zombie_babiesAug 01, 2013 10:15:32 | Right, wookies and ewoks are totally not cheap looking - neither is Jar Jar. Totes. But I can't really expect a typical Star Bores fan like yourself to see past 'pew pew layzrs' can I? |
| #42CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 01, 2013 10:53:09 | Right, wookies and ewoks are totally not cheap looking - neither is Jar Jar. Totes. Jar Jar ins't cheap looking, just sucky looking. And the others were from the OT. Hey, if you need to classify all SW fans as shallow, do so. I'm not going to correct you and hurt your ego. |
| #43captain_obliviousAug 01, 2013 11:26:55 | Firstly, don't bring up JarJar. I don't bring up the bastard you fathered on Lady Gaga. Somethings are just too painful and embarrasing to joke about. Secondly, if you don't like lasers...you are doing it wrong. There is nothing wrong with turning off your brain for a couple hours and enjoying a cinematic adventure for what it is: a fictitious story that was successful enough to be funded and produced. When you create a cultural phenomenon that survives through four decades, I will throw away my Leia buns. Until then, pipe down good sir. :P ...And don't get me started on Dr. Who. |
| #44CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 01, 2013 11:30:37 | Firstly, don't bring up JarJar. I don't bring up the bastard you fathered on Lady Gaga. Somethings are just too painful and embarrasing to joke about. You have to understand something. ZB is normal. Like, mind numbingly, boringly normal. He has to differentiate himself from the countless others exactly like him by having good taste. He's unable to enjoy anything that he hasn't approved as "good." This is why he constantly has to put down everything he dosen't like, because he needs to keep himself convinced that he has good taste (otherwise, why exist? Or so he feels). It might be conscious or unconscious, no idea. |
| #45captain_obliviousAug 01, 2013 11:33:39 | Firstly, don't bring up JarJar. I don't bring up the bastard you fathered on Lady Gaga. Somethings are just too painful and embarrasing to joke about. I'm not arguing, persay, because you've known him longer. All I'm saying is that's not the vibe I've been picking up. |
| #46CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 01, 2013 11:34:21 | Firstly, don't bring up JarJar. I don't bring up the bastard you fathered on Lady Gaga. Somethings are just too painful and embarrasing to joke about. Nice. I'm just trolling ZB anyway. His opinion on SW dosen't matter to me, because he's never played KotOR 1 or 2. |
| #47zombie_babiesAug 01, 2013 11:45:17 | Jar Jar ins't cheap looking, just sucky looking. And the others were from the OT. Hey, if you need to classify all SW fans as shallow, do so. I'm not going to correct you and hurt your ego. A rose by any other name. ;) Firstly, don't bring up JarJar. I don't bring up the bastard you fathered on Lady Gaga. Somethings are just too painful and embarrasing to joke about. Bro? Jar Jar is Star Bores, right? If Trek fans gotta eat it cuz of Wesley Crusher than you gotta eat your Jar Jar. And Dr Who is terrible. It's hack on purpose yet somehow manages to be so hack it's too hack to be good even though it knows it's hack and tries to be hack. That's a special level of suck.
Aaaaaaand ... he ruins it. ![]() |
| #48Cyclone_JokerAug 01, 2013 11:45:42 | CHIA likes crappy emo music. His opinion is invalid. Seriosuly, though, Star Bores is crap. It is the Farscape to Star Treks' Stargate. |

| #62ADHadhAug 01, 2013 15:43:33 | Right, wookies and ewoks are totally not cheap looking - neither is Jar Jar. Totes. You're saying elaborate props like Ewoks, Wookies or even Jar Jar look "cheaper" than a rubber forehead and pointy ears? Because that's what all aliens in Star Trek are, if not straight up occassionally recolored humans. Even Twi'lek and Togruta look less budget-limited than Klingons. Seriously, that was the suckiest ST argument you've made. It would fit an episode of it nicely. |
| #63CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 01, 2013 15:44:55 | But...but, ZB likes the cheap part of Star Trek, so it's okay! Ridiculous biases don't count when you think you have good taste! ![]() |

| #65ADHadhAug 01, 2013 19:05:11 | You seriously think this |
| #66EscherEnigmaAug 01, 2013 21:32:30 |
... Ok, I get that you're a kid, but seriously? Knights of the Old Republic came out in 2003, over twenty years after Episode IV was released to theaters, and a year after Episode II was released to theaters. There have been a handful of books and comics (and two games) to which KotOR is important, but in the great scheme of Star Wars canon, the Old Republic is a pretty small chunk that, while quite fun, isn't a mover and shaker of the mythos. I mean hell, that's like saying someone's opinion on Star Trek is meaningless because they haven't watched the animated series that came out in the 70s. |
| #67Cluless_RatAug 02, 2013 1:17:40 | You seriously think this |

| #69CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 02, 2013 8:15:29 |
No, meaningless TO ME, because that's, imo, by FAR and away the best part of Star Wars. So much better than the movies. |
| #70EscherEnigmaAug 02, 2013 9:49:00 | ... I hope you realize that you're not a Star Wars fan then. You're a KotOR fan, sure, but not a Star Wars fan. |
| #71CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 02, 2013 9:57:12 | ... I hope you realize that you're not a Star Wars fan then. You're a KotOR fan, sure, but not a Star Wars fan. Interesting. Given that KotOR is part of the Star Wars EU and that there are other parts of the EU that I like (such as the X-Wing series or the Legacy comic series), I'm interested in how you came to that conclusion. |
| #72EscherEnigmaAug 02, 2013 11:10:08 | Same reason I wouldn't call someone a Christian if they held Mary Magdalene as more important then Jesus. Edit: Actually, that's a bad analogy. | #73CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 02, 2013 11:17:51 | Same reason I wouldn't call someone a Christian if they held Mary Magdalene as more important then Jesus. Hmm, that'sactually a fairly convincing argument. Guess I'm not a Star Wars fan after all. |

| #114zombie_babiesAug 07, 2013 7:37:29 | Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine. 'Nuf said. Too bad she was on Voyager - would have made an excellent Star Trek actor. Like that Jolene Blaylock chick. She was pretty good in that Stargate episode or two she was in. It's a shame she never did any work for Star Trek. |

| #122zombie_babiesAug 07, 2013 11:47:56 | The first rule of that thing that doesn't exist but would be so totes cool if it did is that nobody is immune. Er ... maybe that would be, like, the second rule. Like, if that thing was a real thing or whatever. And if anyone would respect the rules if it were. It's not, though. Totes not. |

| #129CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 12, 2013 18:00:04 | Hey, if it's supposed to be an alien, it'd better look like one. Rubber forehead and bad facial hair may be acceptable in fantasy, but an alien it is not. The Klingons? Those repressed homosexuals wearing sparkly suits and geting their ass kicked by every new player on the block? |

| #133CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 13, 2013 18:36:16 | 'Scuse me? I think you mean the guy's whose decades-old ships could stand up to the biggest Dominion ships? No, what episode did the Klingon's old cruisers fight and at least hold their own against the Dominion's biggest ships in? Also, it's not gay, it's comradery draco has all the pics. |
| #134Cyclone_JokerAug 13, 2013 19:20:20 | No, what episode did the Klingon's old cruisers fight and at least hold their own against the Dominion's biggest ships in? Off the top of my head? Favor the Bold had a good example. Any time Martok or Worf was in charge. There is an even better example, but it was is season seven and since there's no such thing as season 7, I can't go further. That's all I got off the top of my head. draco has all the pics. Really? And he didn't share? |
| #135CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 13, 2013 19:27:27 | No, what episode did the Klingon's old cruisers fight and at least hold their own against the Dominion's biggest ships in? Fair enough. I was surprised to see them still using (I don't know the class of ship) the same model as the Excelsior for the Federation. It was what, 70 something years old at that point? And the experimental warp drive never worked out.draco has all the pics. He's a conservative, they never share. |

| #138ADHadhAug 15, 2013 9:00:54 | You're just mad that the Klingon empire has more manliness that all of Star Wars put together. Sorry, but nothing out of Star Trek can be ever called "manly". Though Star Wars doesn't really have much in that area either. For manliness in sci fi/space fantasy I go with these guys: |
