| #1homicidal_squirrelJan 28, 2012 20:26:35 | Just finished watching the Chael Sonnen vs Michael Bispin fight. Chael Sonnen got the win by decision. Chael didn't look anywhere near as dominant as he did back when he first fought Silva. I guess getting of the roids really affected him. Bispin got in asome good strikes. He also defended his takedowns. If this is how Chael is going to be against Silva, the rematch is going to be bloody murder. Silva is going to kill Sonnen. |
| #2homicidal_squirrelJan 29, 2012 10:27:48 | I think Bisping got robbed. Yeah, it was pretty damn close. Bisping had some really good moments. He kept on connecting with punches. But really, neither one of them looked very impressive. Sonnen had a few take-downs, but he didn't do much. I thought they were going to give Binping the fight, but as the saying goes, "don't leave it in the hands of the judges." |
| #3zombie_babiesJan 30, 2012 9:04:52 | If you can only decision Bisping, Silva will send you to early retirement. What sucks is that Bisping lost. It woulda been so, so cool to see Silva smash that idiot's face. |
| #4homicidal_squirrelJan 30, 2012 14:07:24 | If you can only decision Bisping, Silva will send you to early retirement. What sucks is that Bisping lost. It woulda been so, so cool to see Silva smash that idiot's face. Yup. Sonnen just didn't have the endurance. He was a lot more active with Silva when they fought. This fight with Bisping really shows the difference between Sonnen and roided-up-Sonnen. Conidering he got Silva angry (finally) afer all the stuff he said about him, I think Silva is going to treat him like he does the other Brazilian fighters he faces. |
| #5zombie_babiesJan 30, 2012 15:36:40 | Ahh, we can only hope it goes down that way. Restore the Spider to his glory and give him yet another reason to move to 205 where he belongs. Roids and the like do make a huge difference, unfortunately. Look at roid Giambi and post roid Giambi. One was in the MLB. Hint: It wasn't post roid Giambi. And that's baseball, not MMA. Let's see if Sonnen can fix himself in time. I think he signed up for a beating he thought would never come and he's only just beginning to see it's really and for true on the horizon. |
| #6homicidal_squirrelJan 30, 2012 16:16:55 | You know that PPV is going to sell ridiculous amounts. I'm sure there are some who still think Sonnen has a chance and will buy the PPV. There are also a lot of people who are going to pay just to watch Sonnen get his head caved in. I'll be watching Sonnen get his beat down from a bar. |
| #7zombie_babiesJan 31, 2012 9:54:31 | Yeah, Dana will make some cash on this rematch, that's for sure. Hell, the fact that Evans won a borign fight was still better for him than Rashad losing. Everyone wants to see Bones/Suga. Though the fights weren't great, it still was awesome for the UFC - and, potentially, the fans, too. 'Course if ya can't take down a Brit, yer wrestlin' ain't no good. ![]() |

Though the fights weren't great, it still was awesome for the UFC - and, potentially, the fans, too. Dude, those are two huge pay-days for the UFC. THose are fights you want to see because you know someone (Sonnen and Evans) is going to end up hurt bad. THere is going to be blood all over the ring. And you're going to like it. After that, Dana should give Hendo a shot at JOnes... because you know you want to watch the roider get curb-stomped. Seriously, I lost respect for that gy after it came out he was using. REplacement therapy... riiiiiiight. 'Course if ya can't take down a Brit, yer wrestlin' ain't no good. Pretty much. Sonnen will be the sacrificial lamb sent off to be slaughtered for PPV buys. After those two fights, the UFC needs to start moving people around. Silva should really go up to LHW. He has cleared his entire weight class. I think there are muchbetter fights for him at LHW. Even if he doesn't fight Jones for the belt, a SilvaVS Evans fight would be pretty cool. Of course, they can also send Evans down to 175. He would probably be a lot quicker at that weight. |

I thought Hendo was tryin' to get back in line for Silva. Either way, no juice = lose. Thing is, 'replacement treatment' is totally accurate. He is replacing testosterone since his body isn't producing the correct amount for his age, size, etc ... cuz he depleted it doin' roids. ![]() Pretty much. Sonnen will be the sacrificial lamb sent off to be slaughtered for PPV buys. Once Sonnen loses again, I think Dana will be relieved. Cuz he'll be able to be done with him for a while instead of moving fights all over the planet so his unlicensed ass can fight. Wonder if he makes it out of Brazil alive, though - assuming Silva doesn't personally handle it. I guess the idea is to have the fight at a soccer stadium - you know, a place known for excellect security. This'n could be over before it starts, heh. They do need to move some guys around, though. 185 is over, 170 is done and 205 is getting there. We all know the champs are the best at that weight against the guys that are there. Let's see some new matchups. I like Evans/Silva. That could be kewls. |
| #10homicidal_squirrelJan 31, 2012 13:04:08 | Yup. And it's two guys you wanna see get hurt bad, too. I thought Hendo was tryin' to get back in line for Silva. Either way, no juice = lose. Yup, definitely want to see those two take a beating. Hendo, I think, is just trying to get a shot with anyone. If Bisping had won against Sonnen, he would have probably needed a re-match with Henderson before gettting his head cracked by Silva. Thing is, 'replacement treatment' is totally accurate. He is replacing testosterone since his body isn't producing the correct amount for his age, size, etc ... cuz he depleted it doin' roids. Yup, that's what happens when you use when you're younger. A while back I saw one of these programs about steroid use on either HBO or Showtime. It was about these two guys who started off body building in high school and they did everything without juicing up. Their role-models were people like Hulk Hogan. So when they found out he was juicing up, they were disapointed. So they start some investigation into steroids and whatever. In any case, they look into testosterone replacement therapy. The guy goes to some doctor's office and gets some test to measure his testosterone levels. Apperantly there is no actual level that you are required to have in order for your testosterone levels to be considered "low." So the guy got a perscription to get steroids legally shipped to his house. Yeah, Sonnen is a pain. After this re-match, Sonnen will probably be dropped to the bottom of the list of possible contenders. A Silva/ Evans fight would be cool at either weight class.Silva has fought at LHW and won easily. It would be agreat fight with Evans. Then he can go and take on Jones. I'm willing to bet that would be the highest grossing PPV by far. |
| #11zombie_babiesJan 31, 2012 14:01:25 | Yup, definitely want to see those two take a beating. Hendo, I think, is just trying to get a shot with anyone. If Bisping had won against Sonnen, he would have probably needed a re-match with Henderson before gettting his head cracked by Silva. Then it really sucks he lost, then. Cuz I totally wanna see Hendo nearly kill him with one punch again. ![]() So who's next for Bisping then? I mean, who is there really? Yup, that's what happens when you use when you're younger. Yeah, doctors can suck. I have friends that have percoset prescriptions cuz they said their back hurt or whatever. Once. Hundreds of pills at a time. I know one girl who's in pain management for fibromyalgia or whatever. She was on vicodin and told her doc she was addicted. His solution? He switched her to percoset. For reals. He actually got in trouble recently and can no longer write scrips. Somehow he's still a doctor. I wonder how far away we are from a Silva/Evans fight, though. I mean, odds are Silva retains so that's solved but Evans will likely lose. He'd have to go back into the mix again (and may drop a lot depending upon how many bones of his Jones turns to powder). So even though I wanna see it, I don't see it happening any time soon. Truth be told, it probably won't happen when they're both still in the game physically enough for it to matter. Like Liddel and Wandi. |
| #12warghoulJan 31, 2012 15:25:39 | Double knockout would be nice, cant stand either of`em. I say Silva wins and it wont go past the 3rd round. |
| #13homicidal_squirrelJan 31, 2012 18:20:22 | Sonnen and Evans getting knocked out would be great. Sonnen definitely has a chance of being knocked out by Silva. I think Evans is going to have his lights put out, but it is going to be from getting choked out. I can see the Evans fight going the way of the Machida fight. |
| #14zombie_babiesFeb 01, 2012 7:56:55 | Yep. I see Chael getting frustated cuz his takedown game doesn't work now that he's powered down and and then just messin' up on his feet. Silva owns him there anyway so it'll probably be up to him how it ends, heh. Maybe another Segal Special (aka: front kick). ![]() |
| #15homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2012 8:31:50 | Yep. I see Chael getting frustated cuz his takedown game doesn't work now that he's powered down and and then just messin' up on his feet. Silva owns him there anyway so it'll probably be up to him how it ends, heh. Maybe another Segal Special (aka: front kick). I hope not. That front kick ends fights too quickly, and there is no blood. I want to see Sonnen take a beating like Rich Franklin took. I want to see his nose flattened and then smeared across his face. I want to see blood!!! Cause you know, it'd be more entertaining that way. And seeing Sonnen's performance in his fight against Bisping, I think it's a real possibility we get to see a tremendous beating. |
| #16zombie_babiesFeb 01, 2012 9:26:53 | As long as his noggin's still got all that extra padding from the roids, he should be able to sustain a satisfactory beating. I'd like a cross between Franklin and Fitch personally. Fitch looked awesomely beaten down after that fight, heh. I do have an audio request for the Jones/Evans fight, too. Needs more skullfracture. Like, I wanna hear somethin' break again like Vera's eye socket. Evans deserves it. Actin' like it's Jones' fault that he won the fight Rashad told him to take. Loser. |

| #18zombie_babiesFeb 01, 2012 14:46:09 | Yeah, fitch looked like a wrecking ball made sweet sweet love to his face. And people complain about GSP. To be fair to the GSP is boring folks, that was like the last time GSP even abraded someone's face. Maybe they'll add in some special effects after the fight. That way when you the fight a second time it looks like an Adam West Batman fight. Jones hits Evan *POW!!!* Jones breaks Evans's jaw *Crack!!!* I'm hopin' they won't need to. I also hope Evans tells Jones he hits like a like he told Machida. ![]() |
| #19homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2012 16:04:42 | To be fair to the GSP is boring folks, that was like the last time GSP even abraded someone's face. Yeah, but I think when he gets back, he is going to be highly motivated to rearange Diaz's face. Diaz is so overrated, just like Jake Shields. Shields was supposed to be the best BJJ guy that in the group that included the Diaz brothers. He didn't do anything. Nick Diaz is supposed to be some great striker, butseriously, if BJ Penn had ben in shape and not gassed out so quickly, he would have out-boxed Diaz. Diaz isn't going to be able to stop GSP's wretling and takedowns, no matter how good he thinks his BJJ is. He won't even get to strike. I'm betting GSP is going to take him down, keep him down, and beat his face like Fitch. Or course Diaz has to get passed Condit, who has some crazy striking. I'm hopin' they won't need to. I also hope Evans tells Jones he hits like a Yeah, that was one heck of a [redated] slap Evans got from Machida. I don't know if Jones is going to knockout Evans, but as long as he beats him like he's beaten everyone else he's fought, Evena is in for a rough night. |

I like him, but his wrestling is basically zero and GSP will make you eat your own [fluffy bunny] if he takes you down and you've got no way back up. Condit is tough, too. That will probably be the better of the two fights. Condit/Diaz will be more exciting than either of them against GSP. Both of them against GSP at the same time might be entertaining, though. ![]() Yeah, that was one heck of a [redated] slap Evans got from Machida. | #21homicidal_squirrelFeb 01, 2012 19:30:48 | Yeah, Diaz is not gonna take out GSP. I like him, but his wrestling is basically zero and GSP will make you eat your own [fluffy bunny] if he takes you down and you've got no way back up. Yup. It may not be the most entertaining thing, but it is gratifying to watch either of the Diaz idiots get beat down. Also, don't forget that GSP also has some good BJJ. Heck, when he trained for Shields, he got started training with some world class BJJ guys. So not only does he have crazy wrestling skills, but his BJJ is probably as good as, or better than, Diaz. BJ Penn proved how useless GSP can make even the best BJJ practitioners look. Condit is tough, too. That will probably be the better of the two fights. Condit/Diaz will be more exciting than either of them against GSP. Both of them against GSP at the same time might be entertaining, though. And then Hendo can get his head cracked open a few months after that. |
| #22warghoulFeb 02, 2012 6:39:23 | Dont under estimate Diaz`s ability to strike from his back. He has some sharp elbows. |
| #23Robin_HoodlumFeb 02, 2012 6:48:18 | Who broke Veras eye? I missed that... |
| #24zombie_babiesFeb 02, 2012 8:26:07 | Yup. It may not be the most entertaining thing, but it is gratifying to watch either of the Diaz idiots get beat down. I'd have to think Diaz has better BJJ but I don't think it's better enough. GSP is one of those rare people that can just do pretty much anything in his athletic field. The interesting thing is that GSP really seems to do well at removing his opponent's will. I don't think Diaz will crack like that. Penn is known to give up and so were a lot of GSP's other opponents. And who wouldn't wanna give up with GSP just layin' on 'em for the entire fight? I think it's possible Nick would get frustrated into making a mistake in the ground game. Imagine how cool it would be to see a Gracie desciple get subbed by GSP. ![]() It would be fun to watch GSP take them both down at the same time. Quad leg takedown! Really, he could probably get 'em both with a single so it'd just be a standard double. ![]() Yup. And then Hendo can get his head cracked open a few months after that. Yeah. Jones could retire Hendo. Interesting to see, that's for sure. Dont under estimate Diaz`s ability to strike from his back. He has some sharp elbows. Yeah, but when's the last time you've seen anyone do anything to GSP when he was on top? GSP usually leaves a fight looking like a slightly sweatier version of what he did when he walked in. There's a reason for that. Who broke Veras eye? Jon Jones. Elbow to the eye socket. Broke the orbital. Such a loud shot you can hear it. And the slo-mo of Vera's face leaves exactly no doubt. You don't see MMA guys make a face like that unless something truly devastating just happened. It was pretty sweet. EDIT: As it happened: ![]() Slightly after: ![]() |
| #25homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2012 13:58:08 | Dont under estimate Diaz`s ability to strike from his back. He has some sharp elbows. No, Diaz won't quit like the previous guys GSP has fought, but Diaz will become frustrated. I can see him getting all bent out of shape and start off the second round by rushing GSP and making a plethora of mistakes that can easily lead to GSP choking him out. And by the way, I think GSP would hold the choke until Diaz was completely out, just to make a point. While it would be cool to see a Gracie deciple getting submitted, but you have to remember that GSP also trained in Gracie BJJ. My is that that is one of the reasons Diaz is so Jealous of GSP. Diaz is like the "ultimate Gracie desciple" and GSP is the guy with all the fame. Quad leg takedown! Really, he could probably get 'em both with a single so it'd just be a standard double. That's true. Maybe add in Jake "not even going to try my super-amazing BJJ skills on you" Shields. You know, to at least make it a little bit harder for GSP. Yeah. Jones could retire Hendo. Interesting to see, that's for sure. Retire... murder... it's all the same if that fight happens. And if Hendo is off the juice, judging from Sonnens post-juice performance, Hendo is in for a worse beating that we could imagine. Dont under estimate Diaz`s ability to strike from his back. He has some sharp elbows. GSP is a Quebecois robot sent from the future. The sweat is actually from his opponents. It just happens to rub off on him during fights. |

You know, totally prepared for a five rounder. Of course. Everyone knows Dan Henderson is in amazing shape. He's the guy that even though he is older, he manages to beat these younger guys. It's amazing how much he trains and that at his age he can still go the distance. Hell, look at when he went up against Vitor Beltfort and beat him. Everyone thought Vitor was going to kill him. The he took on Tito Ortiz when Tito was in his prime. Everyone though Tito was going to take out this old guy and hurt him, but nope, Tito got embarassed instead. I mean com on, the guy has held the UFC light heavy weight and heavy weight titles... oh... wait a minute... that was Randy Couture. Yeah HEnderson would get killed if he shows up like he did for the Shields fight. Although I must admit, I would enjoy watching Henderson getting beat like something out of a Jet Li movie. True. Sweating is for mortals. Very true. |
| #28draco1119Feb 02, 2012 20:36:33 | Although I must admit, I would enjoy watching Henderson getting beat like something out of a Jet Li movie. Specifically, Cradle 2 the Grave. Which had Hendo and Ortiz, among others. |
| #29homicidal_squirrelFeb 02, 2012 23:00:55 | Although I must admit, I would enjoy watching Henderson getting beat like something out of a Jet Li movie. Yeah, I believe henderson gets sent off with a kick.... like literally sent off... flying. However, upon more careful consideration, I think I'd like to see Henderson get more of an Ip Man, as portrayed by Donnie Yen, style beating. |
| #30zombie_babiesFeb 03, 2012 8:26:27 | Yeah, GSP's submission skills aren't the greatest, but with Diaz flipping out because he can't do anything, it's possible Diaz will submit himself. Possible but I think it's unlikely. Unless GSP is uber dominant on his feet - and I don't think he will be, I forsee a grindfest. Diaz may not throw a lot of power shots but I think he throws enough accurately enough to annoy GSP enough to take him down. Oh, did you see that GSP is all about fighting Diza? He hates him so much he's actually rooting for him even though he says Condit's got plenty of chance to win. Diaz is in his head. Last time a guy was in his head like this, he subbed to Hughes with like 2 seconds left in a round. No, I think Shields would have to eat a bullet to improve. I just don't see what the people that say he's awesome see. Of course. Everyone knows Dan Henderson is in amazing shape. I think he'd be in a little better shape since he wouldn't have to cut much but there's no way he's on the same level as Jones. His right hand can still end any fight, but how is he gonna land it? How is he gonna take Jones down? Looks like the UFC needs some new talent, really. I hate this 'give the name guy a match' stuff. I mean, I understand it business wise but damn, you need to send an animal against Jones and I don't think they have any of the proper caliber. |
| #31homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2012 9:43:08 | Possible but I think it's unlikely. Unless GSP is uber dominant on his feet - and I don't think he will be, I forsee a grindfest. Diaz may not throw a lot of power shots but I think he throws enough accurately enough to annoy GSP enough to take him down. I don't think GSP is going to give Diazthe chance to land any shots. GSP will take Diaz down as soon as he can. As boring as people say he is, GSP is a smart fighter. THe guy goes for your weakness. Diaz is the better striker of the two, so you know he is going to spend the entire fight on his back. And face it, Diaz doesn't have the best take down defense. Lesser wrestlers than GSP have taken him down. Oh, did you see that GSP is all about fighting Diza? He hates him so much he's actually rooting for him even though he says Condit's got plenty of chance to win. Diaz is in his head. Last time a guy was in his head like this, he subbed to Hughes with like 2 seconds left in a round. Yeah, GSP really wants the fight. I don't think it'll end like the first Hughes fight. GSP was much less expirienced. His skills were not to the level they are now. Heck, in the Hughes rematch, GSP dominated Hughes. I just don't see what the people that say he's awesome see. He's supposed to be some super amazing BJJ guy. In the group that he trains with (which includes the Diaz brothers) he is supposed to be the best BJJ guy they have. I just don'tsee it. None of his UFC fights have panned out for him. His first fight against Kampmann was a split decision which some think Kampmann actually won. His second fight in the UFC agaiisnt GSP has absolutely not grappling. He tried to strike with GSP and lost... and GSP's striking sucks. THen for his third fight, Shields got knocked out by Jake Ellenberger in 53 seconds. I'm sure strike force has some good fighters, and Shields beat some of them, but it seems that the strike force guys just aren't up to the level of the UFC guys. Although here is something interesting: Shields did beat Carlos Condit by dicision. Not sure if that's going to help Diaz during training, but it's interesting. I think he'd be in a little better shape since he wouldn't have to cut much but there's no way he's on the same level as Jones. His right hand can still end any fight, but how is he gonna land it? I mean, I understand it business wise but damn, you need to send an animal against Jones and I don't think they have any of the proper caliber. Yeah, Henderson will be in better shape than he was in the Shield's fight. He won't have to cut as much weight, but it's not going to matter if he is off the juice. As for new talent, I don't think there is anyone out there right now that has what it takes to take out Jones...at least not in the LHW division. Even other promotions don't have guys that are at Jones's level. He has to go up in weight to fight someone who has a chance. I don't see that happening. I think Jones would have a much harder time going up against guys like Carwin or Dos Santos. Those are big strong guys. Jones would need to gain a huge amount of weight. I'm not sure what Jones walk around at, but Carwin is close to 300lbs, and Dos Santos is probably up around 250lbs or so. |
| #32zombie_babiesFeb 03, 2012 12:04:02 | I don't think GSP is going to give Diazthe chance to land any shots. Yup. Diaz will try to pitter patter and end up on his back - where he'll mistakenly think he has the advantage. That's the thing with BJJ guys (especially Gracie) it seems, they think being on their back is fine cuz they'll just get a sub. Well, it's not a BJJ match, ya know? So guys like GSP have it sorta easy in that regard. They get takedowns easier cuz the guys they're fighting are all like 'he woudln't dare take me down cuz I'd sub him'. Too bad good MMA wrestling seems to neutralize BJJ ... and GSP is the best MMA wrestler there is. Yeah, GSP really wants the fight. I don't think it'll end like the first Hughes fight. GSP was much less expirienced. His skills were not to the level they are now. Heck, in the Hughes rematch, GSP dominated Hughes. The only thing I don't like is that he lost that fight cuz Hughes was in his head. Diaz is in his head for a different reason, but he's still there. Meh, maybe it'll motivate GSP to be a little more aggressive for a change. All I know is Diaz as champ would be bad. Cuz he's too flakey. He'd be like Overeem was and that's not good. I'm sure it'll help a little. Thing is, Condit is really good. Like 5 losses but 26 wins - with 13 KOs and 13 subs. That's not bad. Yeah, Henderson will be in better shape than he was in the Shield's fight. He won't have to cut as much weight, but it's not going to matter if he is off the juice. I'm not sure what Jones walk around at, but Carwin is close to 300lbs, and Dos Santos is probably up around 250lbs or so. I guess Jones already said he wanted to go up. The UFC brass told him no. I don't think he should just yet - though I can't think of anyone besides Rashad that deserves a shot. Like Rashad or not, he is talented. But yeah, I don't think there's anyone anywhere at 205 that can handle Jones. |
| #33warghoulFeb 03, 2012 14:42:50 | Oh GSP is the best at laying and praying. Thats how he wins. I just think Nick has the strength to create some space to get some room to strike or maybe work in a sub. |
| #34homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2012 15:33:13 | Oh GSP is the best at laying and praying. Thats how he wins. I just think Nick has the strength to create some space I don't see it. Diaz's BJJ is good, but it's not good enough. GSP has ridiculous wrestling. As much as the BJJ guys want to think they can handle wrestlers, they can't. THe worst thingabout Diazis that while he has good striking, he starts acting like a thug in the middle of a match. He drops his hands and acts all tough. He does this with people he thinks he's better than. THe problem is that with GSP, the momnent Diaz does that, GSP is going to take him to the ground. |
| #35warghoulFeb 03, 2012 16:11:13 | That thug act also works to his advantage I think. I have seen a few guys take the 'bait' and open themselves to some punishment. If Diaz has no answer to the take downs it will be a long boring match where GSP wins again. Fighters with a strong wrestling base tend to win most of the time, I will give you that. Lets not foget the mental side of the game. I think Diaz is in GSP`s head which in all sports that is a big advantage. Not a fan at all of GSP but I know he`s good, really good and more than likely will win but I just think people are overlooking Diaz.He is multitool fighter in his own right. |
| #36homicidal_squirrelFeb 03, 2012 16:35:03 | That thug act also works to his advantage I think. I have seen a few guys take the 'bait' and open themselves to some punishment. There is no denying that Diaz is a multitool fighter. The guy has great BJJ, and his striking is far better than GSP's. And yeah, Diaz does get guys to take the thug bait, but those guys are impressed by Diaz and his reputation. However, GSP isn't the type to fall for bait like that. You drop your hands infront of GSP and he isn't going to come in for a strike, he's going to shoot for the takedown. As for Diaz being in GSP's head, I think it's not the same as when Matt hughes set up shop there. When GSP fought Hughes, Hughes was the top guy. He was someone GSP looked up to. GSP went into that fight looking to not lose. That's hat got him. Even then, GSP controlled most of the fight. Diaz got GSP angry. The best comparison would be Matt Sera who started talking after he beat GSP. That re-match was terrible for Sera. Diaz has a chance to beat GSP, no doubt. His stiking is much better. He does have excellent BJJ. The guy aalso has the endurance to last all 5 rounds with GSP. Heck, Diaz runs marathons and does triatholons. The guy is no joke. In fact, as much as I wuold love to see Condit crack his bead open and break his jaw so it could be wired shut for a while, I still think Diaz will win the Condit fight. Chances are it'll end up being like the Shields vs Condit fight (decision win for Shields). However, when it comes time for Diaz to get into the ring with GSP, Diaz is going to be overmatched. Everyone in that division is overmatched when they face GSP. It's just how it is. |
| #37zombie_babiesFeb 07, 2012 8:24:41 | Yeah, I love how Gracie guys always put it on the other guy, too. It's all Condit's fault that Nick's corner was too stupid to change the plan until the end of the fifth. I lose more respect for Gracie BJJ every time one of 'em opens his mouth ... or juices. ;)Now the question becomes whether or not GSP will be too let down to get a good camp. He wanted Diaz bad and he won't get him. Still, I think GSP is pro enough not to let it bother him. Oh, I watched the prelims and I was so happy I got to see the worst and dumbest fighter ever to set foot in the cage. That guy what fought the karate guy? Yeah, he has no business being in professional fighting. He gave the karate guy everything he wanted. Space, time, counters, etc. What he should have done was charge him, push him into the cage and work for a takedown. If that didn't work, he should have kept pressure on the guy and stayed close. Make him punch. If a guy wants to kick and he's good at it, giving him space is the absolute worst thing you can do. What a moron. His corner needs to be fired, too. How could they let that happen at this level? Meh, at least the KTFO was epic. ![]() |
| #38zombie_babiesFeb 07, 2012 13:44:59 | You still have respect to lose for the Gracie guys? They are so over-hyped. Diaz came in with the same plan he always has: wal forward and throw punches. Yes, it's all Condit's fault. Condit should never have used his brain in a fight. Everyone knows MMA is short for Rock'em-Sock'em Robots. You are jus supposed to stand in the middle of the ring and punch until someone's neck becomes extended. Yeah, how dare Condit act like a martial artist! He's supposed to pretend to be some thug that can't handle taunts! And I'll never get how not running into punches = running away. Fight dumb or get criticized, I guess. That's the difference between GSP and Diaz. GSP is a professional. He doesn't take any of the fights lightly. The guy trains like a machine. And after seeing that Condit isn't suffering from some type of traumatic brain injury and actually develops a game plan for the fight, I think GSP will definitely train just as hard, if not harder than he would have for thug-life Diaz. Yeah, I think GSP will be alright. Wonder how good Condit's wrestling is ... Dude, the prelims had some good fights. Yeah, they were really good overall. Just not that fight. But that one was under undercard. Only showed it cuz two fights went quick in the televised part. |
| #39zombie_babiesFeb 08, 2012 8:03:02 | Exactly! Real fighters block strikes with their face. Ask Rich Franklin. He fought Silva and blocked all those strikes with his face. And he beat Silva... wait, never mind, he had to get reconstructive surgery to fix his nose after Silva flattened it and smeared it across his face. Yup. If a guy's a brawler and wants to punch you in the face a lot, it's your duty as a fighter to stand there and trade punches with them - especially if they're a better boxer than you. It's how the monks trained on the mountaintops all those centuries ago. You must fight the way your opponent wants you to or else you're a coward. I mean, Nick Diaz fought that fight the way Condit wanted him to and he won ... er ... wait. Yes, what MMA needs is less brains. Bring back Tank Abbot and Cabbage Correira! Probably not good enough. Heck, Koscheck's wrestling wasn't good enough. AndKoscheck has some dame good wrestling. Isn't Fitch also supposed to have good wrestling? It didn't work out for him either. True dat. GSP has faced a few 'on paper' better wrestlers (including Hughes) and dominated them all. Looks like it'll be another takedown marathon for GSP. And that's good for his knee, heh. ![]() That fight may not have been good, but it was fun as heck to watch. The good thing is that the UFC undercards are getting better. Yeah, it was fun and the undercard as a whole was really good (aside from Bruce Leroy's groin fetish - and that fight was friggin' amazing other than that. prob had a shot at FotN if it wasn't for those two shots). That fight, though ... man. I was lookin' at karate dood like 'what is this idiot doing? this is MMA, homie' and then I was like 'what is this other idiot doing? take the guy down if he's kicking the snot out of you, don't give him room' and then I was like 'what is his corner thinking? make him engage, dammit! tell him to force him to the cage and get a clinch!' and then I was like 'dizzam, yo. that was one epic roundhouse kick. ktfo, homie. awesome'. ![]() |

They should all be trained to stand there and throw punches. YEah, and also they should stop throwing kicks. Furthermore, wrestling should be banned. BJJ should also be banned. That way there are no take downs or submission attempts. THen we can start creating a bunch of different organizations and have them all have multiple belts. THat way it can be like an alphabet soup of belts. And just to make sure that people can't move around too much, te octogon should be done away with. Instead, I propose a ring. Except, this ring will really be a square. Finally, we should have the name changed from Mixed Martial Arts to Boxing. True dat. GSP has faced a few 'on paper' better wrestlers (including Hughes) and dominated them all. Looks like it'll be another takedown marathon for GSP. And that's good for his knee, heh. Yeah, that is true, I forgot about Hughes. He is a monster wrestler, but he was manhandled by GSP. The fight would be a take down marathon wether it was against Condit or Diaz. Face it, GSP isn't stupid either. He isn't going to stand there and le Diaz hit him. He would take Diaz down from the start of the round and beat him for 25 minutes. It's funny though, people keep saying that GSP just lays and prays. I started rewatching some of his fights. Dude, for a guy that layed and prayed, he sure messed up Fitch's face. Fitch got dropped several times. That GSP wasn't able to knock Fitch out says more about Fitch than GSP. It's not like Fitch isn't a heck of a fighter. And it wasn't as if GSP was active the entire time he was fighting Dan Hardy. Sure, he didn't finish Hardy, but that's probably because Hardy decided he should probably defend against strikes and submission attempts. People take so much away from GSP's opponents when they cry about GSP not finishing them off. Yeah, it was fun and the undercard as a whole was really good (aside from Bruce Leroy's groin fetish - and that fight was friggin' amazing other than that. prob had a shot at FotN if it wasn't for those two shots). That's what happens when you get bad people in your corner. If they don't know what they're doing, they are not going to be able to help you out. |
| #41homicidal_squirrelFeb 08, 2012 12:33:19 | So I was looking at Renzo Gracie's wiki when I saw something interesting. Renzo has one no contest on his record. It was when he fought Eugenio Tadeu. The no contest was due to the fans rioting... in Brazil. Something tells me Sonnen is in for a heck of a night. |

Finally, we should have the name changed from Mixed Martial Arts to Boxing. Totally. And let's get rid of Dana White and bring in Bob Arum! Yay! Seriously, it's amazing what fanboys Diaz has. Like, if you can't understand that Diaz was beaten by a superior game plan and a refusal to adapt and want to pin it on Condit 'running' instead, you're a dummy. Wake up. Some people are even comparing it to Kaleb Starnes. IIRC, Starnes was docked points for refusing to engage and didn't fight on purpose as some sort of contract stunt or something. Yeah, totally the same situation. Diaz fought dumb. His corner cornered dumb. That's pretty much it. Yeah, that is true, I forgot about Hughes. He is a monster wrestler, but he was manhandled by GSP. It's kind of amazing that it's already so easy to forget about Hughes, but the sport is moving so fast these days. Crazy. But yeah, uber wrestler - one of the vanguard of GNP, even. And GSP handled him fine (the second time). But yeah, GSP is no dope. If you've got a punch, he doesn't want any part of you standing. His chin really is questionable, IMO. I mean, Serra crushed him. I was not surprised that Hardy was taken down immediately and kept there. 'Specially since he's a Brit with no wrestling. He wasn't surprised about it either, heh. And I don't think it matters who you are anymore, GSP will probably take you down and keep you there. Unless it's some Maia type that's uber awesome at subs and has no standup at all anyway. GSP - whether you think he's boring or not - is the best at playing a fight into his strength. He controls where the fight happens (wrestling) and that means he usually controls the fight altogether. That's what happens when you get bad people in your corner. If they don't know what they're doing, they are not going to be able to help you out. They did not bring any new fighters into their camp with that display, heh. The guy should fire his entire camp and then quit MMA. Cuz even if they were too stupid to know what to do, he should have had some idea. I mean, we're not professional fighters and we somehow knew what he had to do. Hell, even if we're totally wrong (we're not), it couldn't have gone any worse. ![]() So I was looking at Renzo Gracie's wiki when I saw something interesting. Renzo has one no contest on his record. | #43homicidal_squirrelFeb 08, 2012 13:40:01 | Totally. And let's get rid of Dana White and bring in Bob Arum! Yay! Yup, pretty much. This guy here actually posted up a transcript of Diaz's corner. The whole time they are telling him to stop chasing Condit, but Diaz being an idiot just kept on walking in a straight line after Condit. Worse, there is no urgency coming from Diaz's corner. They all tell him he is winning. Meh, whatever, Diaz can't adjust to fighters, and his corner sucks. He lost, and that's that. It's kind of amazing that it's already so easy to forget about Hughes, but the sport is moving so fast these days. Crazy. But yeah, uber wrestler - one of the vanguard of GNP, even. And GSP handled him fine (the second time). Well yeah, but I'm sure even Hughes would like to forget some of his recent fights. That knockout by Penn is probably one of those fights Hughes would like to forget. ;) But yeah, GSP is no dope. If you've got a punch, he doesn't want any part of you standing. His chin really is questionable, IMO. I mean, Serra crushed him. I was not surprised that Hardy was taken down immediately and kept there. 'Specially since he's a Brit with no wrestling. It's not as if Serra was throwing love taps either. Serra hurt him and followed through. Even then, it wasn't as if GSP was out cold. He got hurt. It happens. It's not as if GSP hasn't been hit by anyone else after that fight. GSP is great at controlling fights, and he has controlled all the fights since then, but he doesn't have such a ridiculous level of control that he preented every opponent from hitting him. He's been hit plenty of times after Serra hit him. Hehasn't gone down. Now obviously if you're fighting anyone who can hit, you are going to want to avoid that. GSP isn't dumb. He likes taking the other guy's weakness and using it to his advantage. And I think that GSP is smart enough not to dispute his chin because if people continue to believe he has a glass chin, they are going to keep trying for that shot. All that does is work into GSP's game plan. It keeps his opponents trying to strike and allows his to use his wrestling to control the fight. They did not bring any new fighters into their camp with that display, heh. The guy should fire his entire camp and then quit MMA. I think Dana should just get rid of them all and not allow them or their fighters back into the UFC until they can prove they know what they are doing. This time it was just a brutal knockout, ut next time the guy can really get hurt. That's just bad for the sport. Yeah, I'm wondering how all that's gonna go down. Especially if it's at a soccer stadium. I think, though, that if the fans know Silva well enough they'll just let him do the killing and watch. ;) Iheard that in Brazil, when Anderson Silva kills a guy in a fight, the fans eat the loser. Well yeah, but I'm sure even Hughes would like to forget some of his recent fights. That knockout by Penn is probably one of those fights Hughes would like to forget. ;) Heh, he probably doesn't remember it. ;) Strange that his run began in controversy. Then again, it seems to be the Jackson camp MO: just fight in a way that you're sure won't get you KOd or subbed and see what happens. Rashad started that junk, too. It's smart but it can be boring. No matter what, it takes a special sort of fighter to be able to pull it off. I think Dana should just get rid of them all and not allow them or their fighters back into the UFC until they can prove they know what they are doing. This time it was just a brutal knockout, ut next time the guy can really get hurt. That's just bad for the sport. At first I thought the guy maybe quit out of frustration but he was on the mat for a while. And yeah, they all need to learn a lot before they come back. Watch, though. His camp is probably some 1337 crew that handles some awesome guy, heh. He's a dummy that's for sure. No clue. Iheard that in Brazil, when Anderson Silva kills a guy in a fight, the fans eat the loser. It's true. I saw it on TV. Brazilians eat people. If that's true, let's hope Anserson doesn't ingest any. | #45homicidal_squirrelFeb 08, 2012 18:08:17 | Whoa, way too much work. And Nate's 'yes bro' attitude may have cost Nick that fight. Er, aside from Nick just acting like an idiot that's never fought before. Yeah, that guy is more of an MMA than I'll ever be. There's no way I'm going to ever transcribe the fight talk without getting paid. As for Diaz, yeah, complete idiot. Nate kept on telling him he was winning. That's what happens when you keep trash talking about the other fighters. You get this "I'm better than you" attitude and then cry when you lose fights. Date shouldn't be in that corner... like ever. If he can't tell Nick that Nick is in a pretty even match and motivate him to ramp up the pace, well, what purpose does he serve? He wasn't giving any useful advice. Nick on the other hand should really learn to adapt. He kept crying about Condit getting away, but he was unwilling to do anything to stop Condit from getting away. And both Diaz brothers really need to stop trying to taunt opponents during a fight. You can talk trash all you want before and after the fight, but taunting isn't going to get you any points during a fight. The whole Cesar Gracie training camp is just bad. Look at the GSP vs Shields fight. Shields was supposed to be the greatest BJJ guy GSP ever faced, and Shields didn't even try to take GSP down. His corner even told him not to go for the take down. What the hell is wrong with those guys? Heh, he probably doesn't remember it. ;) Strange that his run began in controversy. Newton had him out and just happened to get KOd when Hughes fell down. Crazy to think that started it all for him. Yeah, that was a heck of a call. Hughes was out. Even if he wasn't completely out, he wasn't going to be able to defend. He was done. I think Sonnen made a joke about Silva and used that Hughes victory to compare how Silva, or whatever he was referring to about Silva, was ridiculous. How much of his new control style is due to that KO, though? He changed a lot after that fight. Then again, it seems to be the Jackson camp MO: just fight in a way that you're sure won't get you KOd or subbed and see what happens. Rashad started that junk, too. It's smart but it can be boring. No matter what, it takes a special sort of fighter to be able to pull it off. Well yeah, wouldn't you? I mean he's a smart fighter. If the other guy has knockout power, and is a better striker, why wouldn't you train to nullify that? Really, the KO wasn't a total KO. Wanderlei Silva was knocked out by Rampage in their last fight. GSP got rocked and beat down for sure, but he was never out. Heck, Serra beat his face in pretty good. Still, GSP was awake... curled up, but awake. The Jackson camp trains their fighters to win fights. Wether you win by knockout, submission, or decision, winning is winning. It isn't that GSP doesn't try to finish fights,it's that he gets some tough opponents. In the attempt to deny GSP credit, people discredit his oponents. Fitch was able to survive. Fitch took some nasty punxhes. Heck, on of them knocked his mouth piece out of his mouth. Saying that GSP couldn't finish the fight discredits Fitch's ability and heart in that fight. At first I thought the guy maybe quit out of frustration but he was on the mat for a while. And yeah, they all need to learn a lot before they come back. Watch, though. His camp is probably some 1337 crew that handles some awesome guy, heh. He's a dummy that's for sure. No clue. Maybe that was Nick Diaz's back-up corner men. ![]() If that's true, let's hope Anserson doesn't ingest any. Cuz if he does, you know he'd pop positive on a roids test since Sonnen is full of that stuff. Except that Silva is extremely rich in Brazil. He gets to eat good food. Brazil has a huge poor population. This is just how Silva gives back to all the people that suported him. He gives them the bodies of the opponents he kills. The steroids would actually be good for the poor who do not get enough to eat.Think of the steroids like vitamins added to nurish the fans. |
| #46warghoulFeb 09, 2012 2:44:23 | Boy I was wrong about Diaz. He cant adapt I guess. |
| #47zombie_babiesFeb 09, 2012 7:57:24 | Yeah, that guy is more of an MMA than I'll ever be. There's no way I'm going to ever transcribe the fight talk without getting paid. Yeah, Nate may as well have been working for Condit. That transcript does shed some light on those two idiots, though. I mean, the moron trash talker thing isn't an act to get in the opponent's head, it's just who they are. How many times did Nate tell Nick to talk trash and wave Condit in like that was some sort of strategy. Yeah, Nate. All he has to do is talk. That'll break Condit. What a buncha dummies. They were both out. It was crazy. The first time I saw that fight I saw it how the ref did, too - Hughes smashed Newton on purpose to get out of the choke. It wasn't until I paid attention to the replays that I saw Hughes was totally out. Crazy stuff. Yeah, it makes sense he changed his approach but I think that speaks to concern about his chin. Obviously he's developed a winning program now, though, so it doesn't really matter. Maybe that was Nick Diaz's back-up corner men. Heh, that makes sense. 'You got this, bro! Aww man, he kickin'! He kickin! What kinda mess is that? Ref! Ref! He kickin'! Alright bro, you just keep doin' what you doin'. He got nothin', bro. He just keep kickin' so you stay outside. Don't go for no takedowns, bro. You got this!' ![]() Except that Silva is extremely rich in Brazil. As long as Silva doesn't eat any himself he'll be ok. It'd be a shame to see him test positive just cuz he at a roid monster. |
| #48homicidal_squirrelFeb 09, 2012 12:07:32 | Yeah, Nate may as well have been working for Condit. You know what? Now that you mention it, it is possible Nate was working for Condit. Maybe he wised up and realized he wasn't going anywhere with Nick "I'll block your strikes with my face" Diaz, and wanted to apply for a job at the Jackson camp. He could show them this fight and say "hey, look at how well I got in Nick's head. He actualy did everything I told him to and I got your fighter to win. Hire me bro." They were both out. It was crazy. The first time I saw that fight I saw it how the ref did, too - Hughes smashed Newton on purpose to get out of the choke. It wasn't until I paid attention to the replays that I saw Hughes was totally out. Crazy stuff. Yup. I didn't see the original broadcast, so when I saw the fight, I had already heard of the controversy. When I looked at it, I was like, "What the heck was that? Hughes was out. He didn't slam Newton to the ground. Hughes fell forward and Newton was incidentaly knocked out as well." Yeah, it makes sense he changed his approach but I think that speaks to concern about his chin. Obviously he's developed a winning program now, though, so it doesn't really matter. I think it's more of a concer over getting hit in the face. Some guys just don't like that feeling. Look at Lesnar. The guy went into a fetal defense position when a stiff breeze brushed his face. GSP can take a bit more than Lesnar, but I think it's more about not wanting to get hit in the face. It might have to do with him wanting to be marketable. There have been a few interviews where he says he only works out with weights and that kind of stuff to get in shape for marketability. He doesn't actually think he needs to do it. He brings up the example of his French Muay thai buddy he had on The Ultimate Fighter. doesn't look like much, but he hit some of the guys GSP was training and dropped them with body shots. As long as Silva doesn't eat any himself he'll be ok. It'd be a shame to see him test positive just cuz he at a roid monster. You have to consider that it is being held in Brazil. Their drug testing guielines may not be as strict as ours. Silva might be able to get away with shooting up infront of the officials right before the fight. Heck, he could probably get one of the officials to help him juice. Sonnen though, that guy is probably going to get all types of test to make sure he isn't juicing again. Brazil may require he gets a colonoscopy just to prove he is clean. |

Nate may say that's how it went down. I mean, as bad as that looks at least it makes him look like he knows what's happening in a fight. Yup. I didn't see the original broadcast, so when I saw the fight, I had already heard of the controversy. When I looked at it, I was like, "What the heck was that? Hughes was out. He didn't slam Newton to the ground. Hughes fell forward and Newton was incidentaly knocked out as well." I saw it as part of one of the highlight shows and wasn't aware of it until they showed the slo mo. It was messed up. Ref missed it. I think it's more of a concer over getting hit in the face. Some guys just don't like that feeling. Look at Lesnar. The guy went into a fetal defense position when a stiff breeze brushed his face. I think if you don't wanna get hit in the face you should probably not be a fighter. I guess GSP found a good way around it, though. Certainly a lot better than Lesnar's. You have to consider that it is being held in Brazil. Their drug testing guielines may not be as strict as ours. True, it's being held there to get around Sonnen's licensing issues after all. I'm sure the UFC will properly test Sonnen, though. I mean, why not? ![]() |
| #50homicidal_squirrelFeb 09, 2012 14:12:55 | Nate may say that's how it went down. I mean, as bad as that looks at least it makes him look like he knows what's happening in a fight. I think he should say that's what he was doing before the opportunity passes. He should at least say he did it so he can fight for a title shot after getting Nick out of the way. I saw it as part of one of the highlight shows and wasn't aware of it until they showed the slo mo. It was messed up. Ref missed it. That thing is on every highlight reel. It's all over knock out reels, controversial decision reels, blooper reels... I think if you don't wanna get hit in the face you should probably not be a fighter. I guess GSP found a good way around it, though. Certainly a lot better than Lesnar's. Like I said, it would detract from his marketability to get hit in the face. Think about it, do you think GSP would be getting the same kind of money if he loked like |
| #51homicidal_squirrelFeb 09, 2012 16:30:52 | Boy I was wrong about Diaz. He cant adapt I guess. No, Diaz can't seem to adapt. Maybe if he had more than five rounds. I think if the fight went 10 rounds, Diaz would have started to... no... never mind... he probably would have kept on. On a side note, there might be a problem with thug-life's drug test. |
| #52homicidal_squirrelFeb 09, 2012 22:26:28 | Well, this probably explains why Nick Diaz was unable to adapt, and why Nate kept on telling him Nick was super awesome. They were stoned. Idiots. |
| #53zombie_babiesFeb 10, 2012 8:00:05 | How much money could that moron have made if he got the GSP fight? And he threw it all away for some pot. Again. What a moron. Take note, folks. It's pretty rare to see this much stupidity in one family. And where was Gracie? Just let him smoke, bro. It's cool. Nick Diaz is the Lindsay Lohan of MMA. |
| #54homicidal_squirrelFeb 10, 2012 8:54:13 |
Yup... he could have made some mad money, but as usual, he had to mess it all up. Cause you know, he's just such a rebel, and he doesn't care about some silly rules. I read somewhere he could even be fined 40% of his purse in the Condit fight. That's a pretty hefty chunk of change. Cesar Gracie is probably going to be a bit upset when he realizes that he won't be getting as big a cut of the prize money as he thought. Diaz needs to get rid of all these enablers he's got training him. The guy is talented. Someone just needs to beat some sense into him. He needs to stop with all this taunting and talking he does during a fight. It's a freaking fight, not a Jerry Springer episode. During one round Diaz actually slapped Condit across the mouth. What a waste of a strike. Instead of some little girl slap, why didn't he just punch Condit? If he could slap him across the mouth, he could also have punch him and maybe stunned him or done something. But nope, it's more important to him to be thug-life and taunt people instead of actually fighting. |
| #55zombie_babiesFeb 10, 2012 10:27:47 | Yup, it's all about image and street cred with those two. What a waste. Cesar Gracie is the Mike Brown of MMA. Just enable the crap out of LeBron Nick. He's so talented he doesn't need to follow the rules everyone else does, right? Heh, at least this is gonna hurt both of those idiots in the bank account. And you know if he would have beat Condit he'd have gotten a taste of the GSP PPV money. He'd have been a fool not to damand it at that point. And that's lotsa cash. All gone. Up in smoke. But hey, nobody can say he ain't hard, yo. He didn't forget his roots, brah. He's still Nicky from the block. ![]() |
| #56homicidal_squirrelFeb 10, 2012 12:14:33 | Yup. Street cred is obviously much more important. |
