I just found out he passed away last month. It all started from a dental infection which ended up destroying his heart. Very sad. I really liked him as an actor and he will be missed. It's sad that we will not see more of his talent in the future.

He was my favorite secondary character.

Mine too. I liked him more than some of the main characters!

The angsty 'nerd' guy, didn't like him as much.

I liked him more as the show went on. Couldn't get into Fred, though.

I am bothered only because he was connected to Angel (and he really was one of the better characters. Wesley was close to being very well done). I don't know Andy Hallett from anything else (or if I do, the green skin and hornes isn't helping).

He didn't really do much else. Joss has a habit of bringing his actors back into other projects he works on and I'm sure that we would have seen Hallett in something else. Because of his illness he probably wasn't doing much. It's too bad because he was good actor and I think that he could have had a very good career.

Actually Andy Hallet appeared in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer albeit in silent on camera appearance. So, technically, Whedon DID use him again.

It is a shame that he died though. Lorne was an entertaining second stringer, and it was his first acting role, though he was an accomplished singer (which got him the part on Angel, as it was actually written for him).
