Damn.  Guess I got pretty lucky, then.  Cuz I was a' f-bombin' the f-bomb out o' morons on the planes I was on.  I was even worse in the airports.  I honestly had to fight not to say what I wanted to say for fear of being kept off the flight or out of the country.  It's pretty awesome I felt that way, no?

Yep.  Training camp.  Learnin' to protest against the gov't like the Greeks.  Also learnin' to take siesta time like the Greeks.  That's ... that's like so, so much better than protestin', too.

Do they have siesta time, too?

Can he be a commie and a terrorist at the same time?

I thought all terrorists were commies? Or was it all terrorists are liberals and some are liberal commies?

No, he was a Leftist guerilla attempting to overthrow the legitimate gov'ts of South American countries (specifically Bolivia IIRC), as well as a murderer and terrorist.

I was genuinely wondering.

From what I've heard the US under barrack obama is leftist, and they're certainly trying (well, I guess they even succeeded) to overthrow the legitimate government of another sovereign nation.

As for terrorism.. we seem to be hearing plenty of stories about that as well.

Or is it because Che forgot to declare himself "the nation of the free" first?

The governments of Iraq and Afghanistan were already overthrown. We are now trying to support the new governments. And Afghanistan didn't even have a united government anyway; the Taliban controlled part of the country but not all. And it's not as if there wasn't provocation there. Both of them had an easy out and refused to take it. The Taliban insisted on protecting the sponsor and/or mastermind of numerous terrorist attacks over the past decade. Saddam insisted on playing games with weapon inspectors, violating the arms embargo, concealing his nuclear program, storing chemical weapons, etc.

As for terrorism.. we seem to be hearing plenty of stories about that as well.

Stories of individual criminals does not equate to a nation committing terrorism.

Or is it because Che forgot to declare himself "the nation of the free" first?

Yeah we can totally tell that you were legitimately wondering and not at all trolling.

Unless you're talking about Libya, you're using an interesting mix of policies.

Here's a quick run-down for you:
At the national level, the Executive branch is currently left-of-center (how far left depends on various factors, including who you talk to).
The Legislative branch is currently about as close to center as you can get, though probably listing a bit to starboard.  But, up until January, it was even farther left than the White House.
The Judicial branch is slightly right-of-center, though Kennedy is well known to side with liberals at times, too.  Most notably and recently, in the case of releasing LOTS of California's prisoners.
And the people, as a general trend, are slightly to the right-of-center.

Only if you mean "Anywhere that isn't a Muslim country or (often) Israel."  Since the fundamentalists are about as far right as you can get, be they Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or other.  And, since this country isn't actually run by fundamentalists; Israel has a very large minority of them, so they're a powerful political bloc, and most Muslim countries are actually run by fundamentalists...

I don't really know much about Che so I was hoping for some interesting information. I mostly know he's a pretty controversial person that a lot of misinformation exists about.

And the people, as a general trend, are slightly to the right-of-center.

Interesting. So was the right-of-center choice for executive branch so bad at the last voting? Why is the legaslative branch left if the country is mostly right?

Can I point out that Americas "center" would be called "solidly right" anywhere else?

Solidly American right? As in, less government, more capitalism? I'm guessing so, because if you vote right in the Netherlands you're voting for the socialists. Unless you're voting extreme-right, then your voting for the nationalists. And the whack-jobs.

But we are not interested in what "anywhere else" calls it.

Well, I am. Especially considering the terms are almost inverted in many cases here and the words are kinda useless anyway, it's interesting to hear these things.

now I am wondering. what makes a gov legit?

I would say when a great majority of the people being governed by it consider it so.

Maybe one day I'll get a Che t-shirt, on the back will have to be, "Communist rebel brought to you by The GAP for US$24.99+tax."

I think a lot of people think that rebels are supposed to intrinsically be good because of things like the American Revolution and Star Wars.
