You have to give it to Jones. Machida is a heck of a fighter. His ability to move in and out and hit people with power strikesis ridiculous. Rashad evans found that out the hard way. Jones got a taste, but he was able to over come it. He took Machida down and one elbow opened up a gash on Machida's forehead. A minute later Machida was passed out on the mat from a ridiculous standing guillotine.

I can actually understand not tapping to a choke. It doesn't do any real damage so why not hold on and try to get out as long as possible? What Nog did, though, was just stupid. I don'r know... that choke looked mighty painful. It looked like he was going to snap Machida's neck they way he was cranking that choke. Much like Nogueira, Machida had never been submitted. I'm guessing he thought he'd be able to get out. He underestimated Jones' abilities. He suffered for that.
I saw the fight fight with Nogueira, I linked it up above, and Nogueira didn't try to tap until the arm snapped. He has this image of the guy that you can't finish, and you can't submit, so I'm guessing you are right, and he wasn't going to let Mir submit him after he had already finished him. That was too much for Nogueira... so his arm was broken. I read an article that his arm won't require surgery. He will probably be out for only 9 months or so, which isn't bad considering how terrible the injury looked. The Canadian fight commission only gave him a two month suspension for the injury. Supposedly he is going to be wearing some kind of plastic adjustible brace or something. Not sure what it actually is or does, but it makes it seem as if the break isn't going to end his career, which is good.

I think in the first round Jones was being overly cautious with Machida, with good reason. Jones didn't close in and get the clinch like he likes to do. He stayed at a distance trying to rely on his reach advantage. Machida is just awesome at negating that reach advantage. Still, you can see it in the second round when Jones got aggressive. He cliched, took machida down, elbowed a nasty gash into his forehead, and after the round was restarted choke Machida the hell out.
I think Hendo would have the same problems that Rampage had. Sure, Hendo is a great restler jacked up on test, but his fighting style isn't going to be able to overcome Jones' reach like Machida. Hendo is going to have to shoot in and get close to Jones to try and take him down. Heck, MAchida took a knee when he got too close. Luckily for Machida, he was able to avoid most of the damage since he didn't have his head down and was going for a body lock (probably thinking of tripping Jones), instead of a take down. Hendo would probably shoot for the hip and get a knee to the face.
As for Jones VS Evans, that would be an awesome fight. Evans is quick. He can move in and out and counter strike. Not as good as Machida, but still, he is good. He also has the advantage of having trained ith Jones. If it's true that Evans beat Jones in practice, that may give Evans a psychological advantage.

We said that would be no problem for Jones since he likes to just erase people. Looks like they wanted to sort of feel it out and that that was a mistake. If Machida came after Jones, it may have gone differently. Maybe not. Jones is just really good. But yeah, we totally said what would likely happen if Jones did what he should and just try to overwhelm Machida. Heh.
With Hendo, I see him standing. Honest. I bet he tries to stay covered, stay out of the way of the big damage and hunt for a home for his right hand. I don't think he'd be able to take Jones down for the reasons you mention. Something tells me Jones has disgusting elbows from his back, too. ;)

But it depends on which Rashad shows up - the cocky fighter from the days of yore or the cautious GSP wannabe from recent bouts. I think he loses either way but he'd put on a show if he came to fight instead of coming to not make a mistake.
Lesner vs Roidereem is pretty easy to call, IMO. Overeem is the K1 champ and Lesner can't take a punch. As long as Overeem stays up, it's his fight to lose.

I think if the old cocky Rashad shows up, he'll have a better fight. He's more likely to stay lose and move around. When he does the GSP thing, Rashad gets a bit stiff and doesn't have good in and out movement. That'll cot him with Jones. When Rashad fought Rampage, he didn't do too good. He was cautious. He won the fight because he was more active, but tat was about it. Rampage didn't take any real damage in that fight. Still, I think you're right. Jones will win the fight. Yeah, that's about it. Rashad is better when he fights instead of trying to point win. Machida was the ultimate point winner (with finish ability) and Jones had no trouble once he decided to go for it so Evans has no hope. And I don't believe that Evans was able to take Jones down at will, either. Even if it's true, it's not like Jones hasn't evolved.

Yup. I have to say I favor Overeem in this one. Not only does he have the power, he has the experience. I think he'll be better able to deal with Lesnar's TDs than Lesnar will be able to deal with his striking.
