While I think the economy is a wreck, I can't point the finger solely on Obama.  I still think that we are in the economic aftershock of 9/11.  The terrorists were targetting the economy of the United States with that attack, and their thoughts were that it could take up to 12 or more years for us to feel the true impact of the attacks.  The economy has essentially turtled since the attacks and our military is spread out in too many places.

Granted, Obama hasn't done anything to help the economy, per se, but I cannot say that he has hurt it either.

The article blames "the Obama administration", yet does not say anything about who authorized the program. Further, the article states what critics claim is the point of the program, but does not elaborate about what the program's stated goals are.

Well, I blame Barry for this economic mess.
It might not be so bad if all his stupid, liberal, socialist policies and decisions hadn't been implemented.
How many times does something have to fail before people realize it sucks?
Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity.

And I also blame him for arming the cartels.... if I were a Mexican, I would be mighty pissed at him right about now...

Since Watergate, Congress has held just 12 senior U.S. government officials in contempt for failure to produce subpoenaed documents. On Monday, that process begins again.

well, that's 12 in 40 years. knowing that there are only 6 presidents since then, Barry is just getting his quota :D

Well, I blame Barry for this economic mess.

There's a "we really don't like this and when we report on it we'll give it a slant" bias, and there's a "we're going to re-write associated press articles, write deceptive and purposefully inflammatory headlines, consistently invite bigots to talk about something as if "they should go to hell" is a fair and balanced counterpoint to "wouldn't it be nice if kids wouldn't commit suicide?", use photos from the wrong events to give the impression of a larger audience, have half the GOP presidentials hopefuls on our payroll" bias.

... ok, I confess.  That rewriting AP articles is actually something OneNewsNow or WorldNetDaily (one of the two) does, haven't heard about Fox doing it.  But they're guilty of all the rest.

This is what I was talking about before.  Ignore the bias.  Look at the news.  Obama making a joke like this says more about Obama than it does about who reported it.  The last part really doesn't matter.  If they weren't there to report it, he still would have said it.

He shows his true colors each and every day.  It doesn't matter if he's a Dem or Rep and who his opposition is.

When the Palin/Revere story was posted, people jumped all over Palin.  This story is posted, you jump on the republicans that wrote it.  Do you see the inconsistency with this?

Hint:  Palin deserved criticism.  Obama deserves criticism.

I've never mentioned anything about who reported it or wrote it. You would benefit from re-reading what I wrote. The entire story is about Obama saying a joke and republicans not liking the joke. It could have been reported by the Huffington Post or any other "left-wing" media and it would still be a non-story. Politicians, regardless of political affiliation, will act the same way. Seriously, being surprised that a politician is full of crap is pretty ridiculous. Besides, I never said that the person who wrote the story was biased (in this case). If you re-read what I posted previously, you would have noticed I said the same thing would have happened if Bush had made a similar comment.

I think some may be missing a point...
Barry made all sorts of outrageous promises and NONE of them have bore any kind of fruit. And he admits as such in his insensitive mocking of the economy.
I guess he simply thinks it's a big joke with high unemployment (which he promised wouldn't go over 8% if we passed his LARGE stimulus package, and then it promptly goes up to 10%...), and then we had to pass the healthcare bill... SO WE COULD FIND OUT WHAT'S IN IT!?!!? Cash for clunkers simply made used cars more expensive. And did I mention how much money (our taxes) he has spent (wasted)?
Nothing this clown does is any good, or has done any good. And he is just working himself to death!*sarcastic*(www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barac...)

Depends upon how you define bareing fruit. There have been arguements back and forth about how bad things would be without Obama's economic policies. What I find amazing is that conservatives criticize him for enacting the bailouts those same conservatives wanted.

Also, PolitiFact, rates 135 out of 508 campaign promises kept, 40 comprimised, 70 stalled, 2 unrated, 219 "in he works", and 42 broken. That's over a third kept or comprimised on. (Contrast with the smaller GOP Pledge to America, which made 57 promises and has completed or comprimised on 6, just over 10.5%.)

Yep, both sides are inept as hell.  26.5% isn't anything to strive for and the 8% broken promises is pretty significant.

On a side note, 40 of the GOP's 57 promises have not even been rated by PolitiFact yet, so that 10.5% is a bit disingenous when over 70% haven't even been rated.  I still don't put any faith in them, regardless.

Not really.  I'm looking through the unrated stuff and I haven't seen anything that better fits as kept/broken/in the works or stalled.  Just no action at all.  There might be some stuff that's been going on that I'm not aware of, but I'm confident that for most of these it's just that they haven't done anything about it yet, not even propose legislation to that end.

Not Yet Rated could be skewed to mean just about anything you want it to be.  I will only take it at face value, it has not yet been rated.  Clicking on the More link of each promise only displays the description, nothing more, not even a single note hinting at what you suggest.  So I can only make an assessment based on what is presented, not speculation.

You can say whatever you want.  That's what speculation is all about.  To note, the GOP promises were made in 2010, so there is a year and half of actionable time as opposed to Obama promises from 2008.

I will repeat, I don't put any faith in either side and I am not disagreeing.  I'm just going by the source that you provided.

So take a look at the promises listed and make an assessment based on what is presented, not your own speculation of what "not yet rated" means.  I think you'll come to the same conclusion I did, that in this case "not yet rated" means there's no action to rate.

Anyway... maybe we'll see the wonder-fix that Obama is holding out on giving America because he is an ebil socialist when Palin becomes the next president and fixed every wrong in the world in the first month of her term. You know, like Bush did, because he was a right-wing convervist and not an ebil-socialist.

Or, you know, maybe his job is harder then it seems and people are actually trying their hardest to solve an extremely complicated problem. But probably not. Because they're ebil sociaslists who per definition can only much things up.

If anything, the 'joke' should serve as a reminder about how we're 'them' to those we elect and that it's not a case of 'we'.  Those elected to serve place themselves above the rest of us.  They live in a different world.  So, how suited are any of 'em to do what we ask them to?  Obama can't relate to those he is supposedly trying to help.  That's what the 'joke' tells me.  The thing to remember, though, is that this isn't some special case.  He's no different than the rest.  That's all it means.  Oh yeah, and we're totally boned.  There'll be a 'North American Spring' at some point in the future.  There has to be.  What we're doing is destined to fail spectacularly.  Meh, at least I'm armed.  ;)

And how much like bandits did Haliburton make out during Bush/Cheney? And do you really think they were the only company that was was "rewarded" by those two? I mean, seriously, did you think this was anything new? Or unique to the Obama administration? I'll bet dollars to doornails that this has been common practice in the US since at least the early 1800's. And nepotism and other quid pro quo dealings have gone on since pretty much the dawn of civilization.

I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that if you think this is somehow unique to this administration than you are painfully naive.

If you elect an electronic voting booth, you would be permitted to punch any losing candidate in the face.

Go for the Most. Because at least the guy you want to punch in the face more is actually doing stuff, other than helping CEOs get even more raises while they slash off the workforce.

I hate our politicians. So Much.  And the sad part is, Romney, and Obama are the two best choices by far this election cycle.

Indeed. We could just as easily say that 70% of the GOP's Pledge is just gathering dust.

So I can only make an assessment based on what is presented, not speculation.

So take a look at the promises listed and make an assessment based on what is presented, not your own speculation of what "not yet rated" means.  I think you'll come to the same conclusion I did, that in this case "not yet rated" means there's no action to rate.

Barry made all sorts of outrageous promises and NONE of them have bore any kind of fruit.

Ohmigawd! It's almost like... like... he's a politician.

Anyway... maybe we'll see the wonder-fix that Obama is holding out on giving America because he is an ebil socialist when Palin becomes the next president and fixed every wrong in the world in the first month of her term.

Meh, at least I'm armed.  ;)

Crapstains!  I totally spaced on that, dammit.  I was kinda wrapped up in gettin' my yard taken care of after over a week of nothing being done to it.  The wife will be on one of the 'puters tonight workin' on pic stuff so I'll do my best to remember and check then.  Damn, sorry about that.

Yeah, dates and times and numbers and time itself just doesn't work in my brain anymore.  I really need help remembering things sometimes.  I wonder if she'll stick around when I'm finally useless.  I mean, it's coming.  I can feel it.  Gettin' worse all the time, you see.  I can't imagine being fully aware late in life.  Oh well, at least I won't notice if she leaves.

But ... but Obama was elected after running a campaign telling us how different he was.  Doesn't anyone remember that?  I mean, most of us knew he wasn't but plenty thought he was.  Adds some sting, I imagine (not to RH, of course).  Doesn't make him worse or anything, but ... hell, I don't even know what I'm trying to say anymore.  Need sleep.
