"Something to Believe in" got me through some real rough times, emotionally. And here I am, one crisis of faith later, whole and happy again. I'm not sure if I prefer their version, or the tribute cover by Chrissie Hynde.

A comic that confirms the well-known fact that most music shop employees have their heads so far up their own asses they are in serious danger of swallowing their own necks. What of it?

The Ramones are one of the best rock bands ever. I am coincidentally wearing a tattered old Ramones t-shirt as I type this.

Gabba gabba hey.

They are before my time. I don't really know a lot about them. I am more of a melodic metal fan.

Like Amon Amarth: Fate of Norns.
Fate of Norns! (Warning Harsh vocals!)

Can anyone point me a few great songs from them? Just about any will do.
Edit: I ment any great Ramones songs.

I just want to have some kicks,
I just want to meet some chicks!

I saw this kid with a Ramones t-shirt. He was like 13. I told him he wasn't old enough to like the Ramones. He just stared at me like I was some old guy, who didn't know what I was talking about.

Damn kids get off my lawn. And stop listening to my rock n roll.

Erm...You're kidding, right? You've NEVER heard of the Ramones? "Blitzkreig Bop"? "I Wanna Be Sedated"? "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker"? "Rock'n'Roll Highschool"? What hole have you been living in?

Would you say Joan Jett (and the Blachhearts) was the female Joey Ramone (and the Ramones)?

Nah, the Muffs were a better fit, though they weren't perfect either.

EDIT: Anyone notice the disparity between the fact we can type in the Muffs, but can't type in magna *** laude?

Sidetracking, my old band started out practicing enough Misfits and Ramones covers that as a joke we were calling it "'Fits and 'Mones" as a joke...

I'd like to hope that the next generation of bands gets inspired by this, and not so much the emo crap out right now, and in a few years, we get some good music going.

The only tune you mentioned that I know is "I Wanna Be Sedated" I really like that song BTW. For the most part like I said they are before my time. As for my hole, well it has been filled with metal.:D

Yeah, I find it very weird seeing a kid wearing a shirt for a band that broke up before the kid was even born.

I was in the video store the other day and saw a kid in a Misfits shirt. He had a little bit of an emo look going on, but I forgave him that and instead asked him if he prefered the band when it was the original line-up with Danzig on vocals or the reformed set that Only had put together with Graves singing.

I felt about 50 years drop on my age and a small part of me die when the guy looked at me like I had two heads and asked me what I was talking about. He just liked the logo on the shirt.

Oh well. Mommy, Can I Go Out and Kill Tonight?

I need to release some tension.

Dear God, I'm grieving for you, that's sad. Almost as sad as if he said he liked new misfits better (even if my old band is opening for Michael Graves in a few months, he's not Danzig).

to answer your question, only if you're a good boy and you're a savior...

Danzig man. Gotta be Danzig.

Still can't get Twist of Cain outta my brain. And it's been 20 years since I heard it man.

God I loved my high school experience. Well, what I remember of it....

Although I like the well produced stuff, such as I Wanna Be Sedated, check out Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue. It's a rawer song, and certainly socially irresponsible, but undeniably hooking.

That one takes me back.

1995, me and my best friend all of 20 years old and driving 5 hours worth of highway in 3 hours in a 1989 Ford Tempo so that we can hit a bar in Edmonton before closing time. Me in the passenger seat, the speedo at 160kph, sweet mary jane in my backpack and All the Stuff (And More!) Volume 1 blasting full volume on a piece of crap stereo.

Wow, good times.

Really wish that cop hadn't hauled us over.

(Boy, you know how fast you was goin'? You came up on me faster than a fat kid on a smartie! You know what season this is? Moose season. You know what happens you hit a moose that speed boy? You be suckin' moose farts boy!)

Note: Paranoia and a cop having fun with his job and being a bit of a jerk don't mix.
