#1 annoyinglizardvoice Jul 10, 2009 19:36:51	Anyone seen the Torchwood episode-each-night series of Torchwood that's just been on? I think it's a big improvement on some of the stuff they've done.

#4 Artifact Jul 11, 2009 10:52:42	I enjoy Torchwood; it's a nice spin on the Doctor Who universe, even if it does tend to go overboard in trying to be an adult show. It's way too obvious, which makes it feel almost childish at times. Jack Harkness is fun and interesting. Never imagined I would say that about an 'omnisexual' character ;). The others? Not so much. Haven't seen any of the most recent episodes; I've been watching on DVD. I'm a big fan of Doctor Who but Torchwood is more of a passing entertainment.
#5 sigil_beguiler Jul 11, 2009 12:36:55	The Torchwood mini-series that just ended even if you didn't like Torchwood before you should check out it was extremely good. It was what Torchwood should have been like throughout the seasons, it showed what a dark, adult show set in the Whoverse truly be like. I like Jack Harkness beyond just being awesome (plus his coat has like a +10 awesome) since it shows in my minds how to actually do non-straight characters and do them well. *eye twitch at token non-straight characters*

#7 EberronJunkie Jul 12, 2009 0:57:05	for a show thats killed off main protagonists, kids, aliens and even an immortal repeatedly in the 2 series it aired, torchwood does like to push some boundaries. the 5 part series, i really enjoyed, there were some cringe worthy points, but i think its just cause it tests what you can do in the sci fi genre. it pushes the "what would you have done" boundary when you think about it afterwards. great show. but i think this 5 part series finishes it off. not going to spoil it for you. no other show i can remember off the top of my head makes such flawed characters more likeable and yes its over the top at times, and some what cheesy, but dammit, thats what the brits do best!
