While I don't like the effect, I think the technique is interesting, and makes me wonder if it can't be applied to other facial areas - think distorting your cheekbones, chin, sides of your forehead, etc. Even other body parts (haha, boobs).

I think body modification is neat. Even (or maybe especially?) when it's not traditionally attractive.

I actually watch Taboo from time to time and I happened to catch that episode. It's not even particularly daring. The effect is gone within two days. So yeah, it's like poser body modification.

Sep 27, 2012 9:11:46 There are people (I saw on another episode of Taboo, IIRC) that do something similar to this bagel thing but on a more permanent level - though it's still reversable if they decide to remove it. They use silicone instead of saline. It requires an incision instead of an injection and a lot more pain. And it looks just as stupid.

EDIT: The guy I saw have it done did it cuz he had just had his subdermal horns removed cuz he was tired of getting made fun of (derp). He wanted something but not the horns cuz they caused to much static. So he opts for a giant bagel forhead. Yeah, cuz that'll be less likely to draw insults. Anyhoo, he's a sideshow performer and he thought it'd be cool to do cuz he could put bird seed in it and then let birds eat out of it. Swear to god. So yeah, functional.
