Jul 27, 2009 11:33:36 IIRC, they advanced the world by 100 or so years. As a Human (and non-spellcaster), this does not bode well for Entreri.

BTW, this would likely get a better answer in the Forgotten Realms section of the boards.

Though, his vampiric dagger may help him stay alive longer. I would like to see him stay alive, him, Jarlaxle and Calimport are the one good things I find to come from FR.

I dunno. That'd be about the hackiest way to justify him being around. Hmm. Guess that means it's pretty likely. ;)

I got the impression he was about finished anyway. He was already near 40 (IIRC) before the jump and he wasn't the same ol' consciousless badass we all knew and loved. Dead may be better for AE.

Jul 27, 2009 13:00:18 See, to me making him part Shade is itself a stretch. We get it, RAS is the FR cash-cow and they don't want to lose that. Thing is, FR was utterly detonated by 4e. There's no need to hold on to these people, IMO. Doing so makes it all seem cheap and tacked on. And it's a not so pleasant reminder of what was lost in the transition, too. Overall, it's hack. Vampiric weapon, part undeadness, a god did it, whatever. Utter hack trash to keep it going for the sake of doing so. It is kind of amusing that they'd go to such lengths, though. For all the thought that the people wanted an FR reboot, it sure seems that they're taking great pains to keep certain parts of the old world alive. ;) Even when the result is a ****** story even a kid would dismiss as stupidly convenient.

I don't recall that as being the case - though I could be wrong. All I knows is that it's obvious what's being done - hang on to the guys that sell books even though it was supposed to be a reboot. And that is lame (IMO).

Couldn't tell ya either way. I just think what they did to FR was all sorts of bad. But, it's done and that's that. Thing is, it's not something that should be done kinda sorta, IMO. So either simply advance the thing or blow it to hell completely. Not some mish mash hack crap.

Much like Samuel Haight from the old World of Darkness, who died and came back nearly a dozen times, ending up as an awakened (read mage) vampiric werewolf bane-mummy.

Entreri will some how cheat death while becoming a bigger badass at the same time.
