#1 loki_x Jul 26, 2009 19:14:38	i speakck about D&D 3.5 sorry foir my bad english and if this isn't correct section. i whant to create a telflammar shadwlord, this clas (tome of magick) required template shadow walk or able to cast dimensionale door. my question is able to cast means: 1° option i must able to cast dimensional door before i strat to level in telflammar or 2° option i'm 1° level wizzard, i have dimensional door in my list, but i cant' cast it now (at 1° level), i can arrive to cast it in future, can I begin to make the levels in telflammar with only 1° wizzard level? other question, if i can cast mystery (tome of magic)and i haven't step in the shadow (is exactly copy of dimensional door), but i have fliker, i can use fliker for begin to level up in telflammar ? fliker: once per round, as immediate action, you can instantly transfer yourself from your current location to any other spot within a distance of 5 feet per two caster level. you always arrive at exactly the spot desidere-just as with the spell dimension door. if you cast flicker in response to an attack against you, the strike has a 50% miss chance. i have look in last 3.5 faq but i haven't found anything

#3 bigtony Jul 26, 2009 22:08:04	If the requirement is being able to cast dimension door, you must actually be able to cast dimension door. Having it on your class list is not enough Having a similar spell or ability, even one functionally identical , even on that refers to the original spell is not enough. If the ability in question specifically states it is equivalent to dimension door for the purposes of meeting prerequisites then it does qualify. However, I'm not aware of anything that has that wording. If you have something feel works conceptually you may ask your DM for an exception. That said the previous poster was correct, this is not the correct forum.

This class requires the dimension door spell. No substitutes. Your character needs to find the spell and learn it before he can enter the Telflammar Shadowlord prestige class.
