| #1baneofelvesMar 03, 2009 18:18:59 | Who would win? (If you don't know what Mandalorians are, check wookiepedia and learn. However, and example of a mandalorian woul be Boba Fett or Jango Fett) The Mandalorians are at the height of their power, wether you want ot envision the typical crusaders or the neo crusaders, they still have their basilisk war droids, ect. The GAR has the Jedi, Clones, and other, smaller military units (average soldiers, Kota's Militia, and the Antarian Rangers) I'm still trying to make up my mind on who would win, but I'm leaning toward the Mandalorians. |
| #2pigknightMar 03, 2009 20:52:24 | Jedi lost. 'Nuff sed. |
| #3baneofelvesMar 03, 2009 20:56:42 | Let me clarify more. The GAR is before order 66. So the Jedi are still working with the clones. And after Revan took charge during the Mandalorian wars, he kicked the Mandalorian's asses (although he was falling to the dark side at the time and would employ tactics that most Jedi would refuse to, and none of the Jedi in the movies are as badass as Revan) Mandalorians are better suited to more unusual warfare strategies, but their "come as you are" policy really hurts them at times. |
| #4Lord_VentnorMar 03, 2009 21:01:47 | In the end, Palpatine was working both sides against each other and is the ultimate victor. As usual. |
| #5pigknightMar 03, 2009 21:30:11 | Did the Mandalorians ever work with/against Marka Ragnos? |
| #6baneofelvesMar 03, 2009 21:35:04 | Uhh, I don't think so, but my knowledge of Marka Ragnos is rusty. All I know is he's a powerful sith lord that was entombed on Korriban. They worked with Ulic-Qel Droma and Exar Kun, after their Mandalore (leader) was defeated in single combat. As far as I know, that's the only work they've done with the sith. Don't think they fought him. Let me check it on wookiepedia, I'll get back to you. EDIT: Nope. Marka Ragnos has had nothing to do with the Mandalorians. You may be thinking of Revan, he was the one that scattered the mandalorians, killed their leader, and destroyed most of their ships and war machines. |
| #7pigknightMar 03, 2009 21:52:39 | I was thinking of Desan/Tavion and his(?)/her reborn. Those are badass Dark Jedi. |
| #8orenthesMar 04, 2009 0:09:37 | Definitely the Republic, Malachor V speaks for itself after all. Despite the semi-war crime with that, the Republic had the Core planets, most of which are industrially and economically prosperous, not to say the Mandalorians didn't give them a serious run for their money, but come on, an ancient empire with countless subjects, or some elite warriors in nifty armour, who do you think would win? |

Sorry to double post, but Ragnos came way before the Mandolorian Wars, his generation of Sith was ancient during the Jedi Civil War, Malak's Sith were much, much later than Ragnos. He's probably one of the oldest lords around, he was actually half-Sith, the actual species that once lived on Korriban, so he's one of the oldest named Dark Lords in galactic history. |
| #10stompie5Mar 04, 2009 11:09:58 | If the Republic had Jedis, Mandalorians lose. It has already happened in the game Knights of the Old Republic, and the Mandalorians didn't even fight the whole Jedi Order (which was rather large at the time). However, the Mandalorians were winning before the Jedi got involved. |
| #11aardwolfMar 04, 2009 11:30:18 | Hands down in an all out no holds barred war, the GAR would wipe the galaxy with the mandolorians,...while i will state that troop for troop the mandolorians are most likely the better soldier. sheer size, resources, and logistics greatly favor the GAR. they have overwhelming fleet superiority. massive armoured advantage, and a nearly limitless supply of troops..the mando's would fight well and have many great heroes arise,..but ultimatly they would be overwhelmed. amatuers talk tactics...professionals talk logistics....its not what you can do, its what you CAN do :D |
| #12jamfalcon_the_gnomeMar 04, 2009 11:55:29 | Probably the republic. |
