So the gist of it is that Budweiser is encouraging men to not shave as a way to conserve water.

Makes me laugh. And hey, more bearded guys? (Almost) always a good thing.

This part made me laugh, though: "Ladies can get involved by recruiting male friends or family members." I totally thought they were going to suggest women stop shaving, too. That would save a lot of water, as well! But, it is just a beer company. ;)

I think it's a good thing to draw attention to water conservation, though.

I wonder if it is better or worse in the end, and what about other energy sources for electricity like coal or nuclear reactors.

And I don't drink beer so something like this isn't doing much for me

Also, just don't leave the water on when you shave. It really is that simple. Shave, and when the razor starts getting overloaded turn on faucet. Rinse. Turn off Faucet, resume shaving.

Duh.

Plus, my beard looks so terrible that I'd hate to have people actually see it and it takes forever for me to grow a proper one. I get Five o Clock shadow after a -week- of not shaving.

Even if my power came from a hydroelectric or nuclear source (which it doesn't), I'd still be using far less water than a guy that gets his power from the same source and wet shaves. Hell, I'd be using less than someone that didn't get their power from a process that used water and wet shaved.

Anyhoo, pretty much every single source of electricity has environmental drawbacks to it. People just like to ignore ones they fret less over.

But then I spent the last 2 weekends at Ren Faire and now beards are awesome.

The point of this post? Budweiser should have done this in Novembeard...Mustache March has already passed, too. Jeez, don't they know anything?

May 30, 2011 6:41:11 I shave every once in a blue moon (or something like that) and this trend has increased with my transfering to a university. My consumption of beer has increased as well (however it's been mainly ambers and IPA and not budweiser). So I'm pretty much on the road for beards for beer and stuff.

i should probably shave every other day instead of the once a week i normally do. but i don't. also i'm kinda out of the loop and just not used to it since i usually let the beard grow for hockey season.

in spring/summer i'm strictly a goatee man.
