| #3zombie_babiesAug 23, 2013 11:40:14 | Epic. Phail. |
| #4homicidal_squirrelAug 23, 2013 12:14:11 | I think it would have been better if they got a black actor to play Batman. Side note: My phone autocorrects Batman to Bachmann. You think there is something there? |
| #5zombie_babiesAug 23, 2013 12:41:47 | Well they're both insane, right? EDIT: And I don't wanna think about all the rending of teeth and gnashing of garments what would happen if they cast a black dood as Batman. |
| #6homicidal_squirrelAug 23, 2013 14:29:55 | Yes, they both are insane. I think Denzel would make an awesome Batman. |
| #7Hipster_DogAug 23, 2013 14:59:17 | Yes, they both are insane. I think Denzel would make an awesome Batman. Now your just saying silly things. You might has well say Will Smith or a black face Tom Hanks. |
| #8pigknightAug 23, 2013 17:01:27 | I think it'll be fine. |
| #9bone_nagaAug 24, 2013 1:17:53 | Yes, they both are insane. I think Denzel would make an awesome Batman. Now that is silly. Why would you do a black face Tom Hanks if you can do a white face Denzel? |
| #10QmarkAug 24, 2013 1:19:18 | Yes, they both are insane. I think Denzel would make an awesome Batman. No, that's Wayne Brady. |
| #11thewokAug 24, 2013 1:23:10 | We said the same stuff about Michael keaton back in the 80s. "Mr. Mom is Batman?" "Really? Beetlejuice?" And he gave us my favorite Batman portrayal to date. I'll give Affleck the benefit of the doubt. He's surprised me in the past. |
| #12Hipster_DogAug 24, 2013 1:45:29 | Yes, they both are insane. I think Denzel would make an awesome Batman. It is about talentless hacks playing a black Batman, duh! |
| #13Hipster_DogAug 24, 2013 1:46:09 | We said the same stuff about Michael keaton back in the 80s. "Mr. Mom is Batman?" "Really? Beetlejuice?" And he gave us my favorite Batman portrayal to date. Why not gono while you're at it? It might surprise us! |
| #14EscherEnigmaAug 24, 2013 2:51:24 | Meh. Like I said before, with the Batman costume and the voice affection everyone seems to like it barely matters who plays Batman. Hell, the stuntman is probably more important then whoever gets billed on the poster. |
| #15Hipster_DogAug 24, 2013 12:50:58 | Meh. Like I said before, with the Batman costume and the voice affection everyone seems to like it barely matters who plays Batman. Hell, the stuntman is probably more important then whoever gets billed on the poster. The actor matters when it comes to playing Bruce Wayne. Do we want Giggli Wayne? |
| #16evildupeAug 24, 2013 13:48:24 | We said the same stuff about Michael keaton back in the 80s. "Mr. Mom is Batman?" "Really? Beetlejuice?" And he gave us my favorite Batman portrayal to date. I'll give Affleck the benefit of the doubt. He's surprised me in the past. I'll give him a chance, but I will never forget, no matter how much I try, his horrible Daredevil movie. Ugh. And is it just me, or is this new Batman just a bit too much, too soon. I mean, there are going to be some really high expecations after the recent trilogy. With Superman versus Batman, whatever happens, I can't help but feel like I'm going to be disappointed. |

Pshh. Like anyone gives a crap about those brown people. Ask Hoodsie, he certainly dosen't. |
| #20EscherEnigmaAug 24, 2013 21:19:52 | The actor matters when it comes to playing Bruce Wayne. Do we want Giggli Wayne? It's Batman playing a part in a Superman movie. Bruce Wayne probably won't be showing up. |
| #21homicidal_squirrelAug 24, 2013 23:40:37 | The actor matters when it comes to playing Bruce Wayne. Do we want Giggli Wayne? That's possible, but I'm betting Bruce Wayne will get a part. Then there is the whole thing about Afleck being much Taller than Cavill. Superman just ins't going to be very impossing when standing next to a giant Batman. |
| #22Hipster_DogAug 25, 2013 0:36:35 | The actor matters when it comes to playing Bruce Wayne. Do we want Giggli Wayne? He will. Affleck will make sure that his maskless face his showned for at least 10 minutes during the film. It will be in the contract. |
| #23DoctorBadWolfAug 25, 2013 11:13:30 | The actor matters when it comes to playing Bruce Wayne. Do we want Giggli Wayne? It's not that hard to make people look taller or shorter than they are. @thread: He'll probably be better than the mediocre crap that was the Bale "growling demon bear" Batman. |
| #24homicidal_squirrelAug 25, 2013 11:28:46 | It's not that hard to make people look taller or shorter than they are. Afleck is a bigger star than Cavill. I don't see him letting them do that. |
| #25Hipster_DogAug 25, 2013 12:25:37 | Maybe he should be taller. Batman is supposed to beat Superman. |
| #26DoctorBadWolfAug 25, 2013 13:10:58 | It's not that hard to make people look taller or shorter than they are. lol wut. |
| #27CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 25, 2013 13:31:11 | Maybe he should be taller. Batman is supposed to beat Superman. But part of his victory over Spuerman is meant to emphasise that brain beats brawn. Superman should be more physically imposing. |
| #28Hipster_DogAug 25, 2013 14:54:30 | Maybe he should be taller. Batman is supposed to beat Superman. He doesn't need to, since we all know he is the strongest. The only reason why Batman beats him is because Superman refuses to be super and a lot of BS and deus ex machinas. This is how it should happen: ![]() |
| #29homicidal_squirrelAug 25, 2013 15:06:57 | It's not that hard to make people look taller or shorter than they are. You can deny it all you want, but it's the truth. A sad truth, but the truth. |
| #30CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 25, 2013 16:11:40 | Still, Afleck is washed up; Cavill is a rising star. |
| #31The_SilverswordAug 25, 2013 16:31:11 | I could see it working if, and only if, they got Matt Damon to play Robin. |
| #32homicidal_squirrelAug 25, 2013 16:56:42 | Still, Afleck is washed up; Cavill is a rising star. While Cavil may be a "rising star," he still has a long way to go before he can get Afleck shortened on screen. So Batman will still be taller than Superman. |
| #33homicidal_squirrelAug 25, 2013 17:00:06 | I could see it working if, and only if, they got Matt Damon to play Robin. Here you go. ![]() |
| #34CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 25, 2013 17:45:17 | Still, Afleck is washed up; Cavill is a rising star. True enough, I guess. |
| #35Hipster_DogAug 25, 2013 18:17:40 | Still, Afleck is washed up; Cavill is a rising star. Pfffft. Based on what? His acting? In the Superman flick most of his acting is him scream "Nooooooo!" four or five times. |
| #36CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 25, 2013 18:18:39 | Still, Afleck is washed up; Cavill is a rising star. Like you need to act well to be a star. I could provide a whole slideshow of examples here, but the bes tone is in the name of the thread. |
| #37Hipster_DogAug 25, 2013 18:29:03 | Still, Afleck is washed up; Cavill is a rising star. And they'll all end up in the pr0n industry as they should. |
| #38CorranHornIsAwesomeAug 25, 2013 19:15:02 | You want to see Afleck ****ing? I was going to say eww, but then I remembered who his wife is...![]() |
| #39EscherEnigmaAug 25, 2013 20:59:51 | This is a Batman/Superman thread. If he was [censored]ing anyone, it would be Cavill. And they would do it in costume. |
| #40The_SilverswordAug 25, 2013 21:07:11 | I could see it working if, and only if, they got Matt Damon to play Robin. That works, but on second thought, if theyre going more of Dark Knight Returns, they should go with an older actor, Adam West isnt really doing anything now is he? |
| #41homicidal_squirrelAug 25, 2013 21:09:38 | I could see it working if, and only if, they got Matt Damon to play Robin. ![]() |

| #43The_SilverswordAug 25, 2013 23:42:08 | I could see it working if, and only if, they got Matt Damon to play Robin. So i take that as a "no, Adam West isnt really doing anything now" |
| #44homicidal_squirrelAug 26, 2013 0:02:11 | I could see it working if, and only if, they got Matt Damon to play Robin. It seems he is the announcer of some show called FanAddicts. |
| #45Hipster_DogAug 26, 2013 0:14:48 | Billy from Walla Walla? |
| #46zombie_babiesAug 26, 2013 8:18:12 | Adam West is on Family Guy a lot. He's a funny cat. And yes, he'd do a better Batman than Affleck ... although Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms. |
| #47DoctorBadWolfAug 26, 2013 15:56:26 | It's not that hard to make people look taller or shorter than they are. I fixed it for you. |

| #60Mad_JackAug 27, 2013 20:50:54 | Although I do think Affleck could pull off the apropriate level of intensity, I just don't think he has the right level of physical presence, the oomph, to really physically portray the character. He's too subtle. I mean, in nearly all of his various portrayals over the years (well, outside of the tv series, lol), the one constant is that Batman is absolutely crap-your-pants menacing when he wants to be, and I just don't see Affleck having the physical presence to pull that off. Not because of his size or physical attributes, but because he lacks that magnetism that the others had. Keaton pulled it off because you could tell that the guy was just off in some way (plus the fact that that one played up the comedy of it). Even Clooney displayed both his usual charisma and the sort of near-sociopathic pragmatism that lets a guy consider dispassionately breaking someone's arm or hanging them off a bridge as just another option to consider, even when all they want is for someone to pass the salt. But each of them in their own way brought something large to the character... Affleck, I just don't see in what way he'd make the character large. |
| #61SeeDarkly_XJan 25, 2014 13:42:42 | Personally I have no problem with Affleck specifically. But I don't believe he's suited for this at all and I welcome being wrong about that. |
