| #1kraikOct 05, 2010 10:56:52 | Hey, I've recently moved to uni in the UK and would really like to find a new group to game with but i'm unsure how to go about it I don't think my uni does a dnd group so i thaught i'd ask whether anybody else on here has ever had experience with finding groups online? And how did you go about finding out whether they were the right sort of group for you?? I'd also like to hear some of your experiences if you have? I know people on these forums usually have some funny stories and i do enjoy hearing them ![]() -Kraik |

If you're willing to try out being a DM, I think you'll find that just asking people if they want to take a leap of faith and give the game a shot, most friends are willing to try once or twice (and then, of course, if you've done your job right, they're hooked). Otherwise, I'd try looking around for a hobby store in the area to see if they know of any roleplaying types who are around, and how to contact them. They may not play D&D yet, but: birds of a feather, and all that. |

Not here in the Off Topic Tavern, but in the section of the forums devoted to such searches: the RPG Gamer Classifieds. If you can't find anyone there, the Tavern is still not where to go. You may want to try the Play By Post groups and find a group to game with online. But yeah, here ain't gonna work. Er ... unless you consider this post helpful and it aids you in finding a game. Then, I guess, it worked. But it's not supposed to. ![]() |
