Ballet shoes aren't tylish
These are menly stylish boots. They have the pointy toe thing but they also come in regular round tip. I just like the zipper, much faster than laces.
Australian boots (on the right) are somewhat stylish, urbanity with a dash of outdoorsiness. No laces or zippers!

Well, if you aren't going to subject them to overly heavy amounts of abuse and use like I have, Brahma makes some great boots for occassional wear. I prefer the Guard in black, feet are always nice and warm. Added benefit is the composite safety toe, water proof construction, non slip and oil resistance soles
Whatever you decide on make sure it's actual leather. Artificial materials, suck.
I have decently large feet (14 or 15 US) so I have trouble finding shoes in stores. Zappos has been a godsend for me.
I bought a pair of Clark's Wallabee's boots from them in 2001 that I still wear regularly. The bottom has smoothed out a little so I don't wear them when it's rainy or slushy, but otherwise they're still super comfortable.

Last time I was in New York. I went up tp Rochester. Lots of snow. Then I went to NYC. Lots of black snow on the sides of the streets. Pretty nasty stuff actually.

I also like this one. Normally I go for dark colors. Grey & Black. However, I like the way this one looks also. But those are Burberry. You know, if you really want to splurge.
I like stuff that fits clause to the skin. Integrated hoodies can make something clean and casual at the same time. Not to mention hoodies are practical. Black, black, black and some grey are the uncolors to got with. Collar that go relatively high are nice. Do you want it to stop just above your butt or have it covered?

I prefer my cots and jackets to be fitted. It has to go with your shape. You don't want to wear a coat that make you look as if you're three times the size you really are. As for the length... id depends on the jacket/coat.
