If anyone is going to be in the Boston area May 7 & 8, be sure to check out The Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation's International Steampunk City in Waltham. The convention is being held to celebrate the closing of the museum's recent exhibit - Steampuffin's Steampunk Form & Function: An Exhibition of Innovation, Invention and Gadgetry - which has been running since October (and this is unfortunately the first I have heard of it since the Boston media didn't give it much attention). Steampuffin, for those that don't know, were the designers for the Steampunk House outside of Boston, that is really, really cool. You may even get a chance to meet steampunk and local celebrity, Mr. Steampunk himself, Jake Von Slatt. |
