May 04, 2012 7:48:11 My friend's mom had an Audi that almost branded her once. Seems the heated seats were like surface of the sun hot. Actually melted a jacket she was wearing. Had she not been wearin' it, she'd have been branded. She doesn't drive Audis anymore.

May 04, 2012 8:16:35 I remember back in the 80s when Audi 5000s were running over their owners - all by themselves. It was dubbed "sudden unintended (unattended?) acceleration". People were getting hit by their own cars when they'd leave it running, in park (it was only automatics), and move in front of the car (to open the garage door, for example). There were a couple hundred incidents and a series of recalls IIRC.

Audi hasn't been high on my list of must-have cars ever since then.

May 04, 2012 9:14:26 Audi makes overpriced garbage. They aren't mechanically reliable, most of the time their fugly, they don't get that great of gas mileage.

They get fun little defects like the above ones mentioned.

How they managed to stay one of the larger auto companies from Europe I have no idea.

Might have something to do with the fact that they're part of the same conglomerate that owns Porsche and VW.
