Well played.

Well I'd say from him it's a reasonable question. Likely never used an apple in his life.

Except he tweeted the question from his Iphone.

LMAO @ Twitter from iPhone.

I don't blame him for not knowing who Steve Jobs was - I couldn't name he head of various companies that make stuff I use.  But, I do blame him for not researching for himself, rather than just asking for the knowledge to be given to him.  With an exclamation point, no less!

With the world (read: the internet) at his fingertips, he should have at least Google'd Steve Jobs first.  Come on.

You could say the news blindsided him.

That you're Canadianistani means not knowing him is ok.  That you're a film buff means not knowing him is not ok.

There's been a best-selling book and an Oscar-winning film made about him (for making something of his life), yet you've never heard of him?

Some people just don't care.

For instrance; if some hotshot soccor player kicked the bucket I'd be scratching my head too. At least PLU has that excuse to go with; football just means nothing on his side of the pond.

If it was Beckham or Pele, I'd know.  Because one was in one of my favorite movies of the '80s, and the other had a Keira Knightley movie named after him.

Best-selling book he didn't wrote.

That predictable feel good drivel won an Oscar?

Yep.  Not bad, considering it was only nominated for two.  It lost in a great big "**** you!" to James Cameron.  (Avatar lost to "The Hurt Locker", which was directed by his ex-wife.)

Mr. Oher is a professional jock and so has no obligation to know about some fat cat nerd who recently croaked.

Now the biggest problem I saw with his tweet was that he phrased a question with an exclamation point. Or maybe it wasn't a question. hmmmm. Maybe he was trying to make a point and wanted some fan support.

Ok with that interpretation I kinda get this voice in my head saying something like "Steve Jobs ain't got nothin' on me!"

Sports mean nothing to me. I can barely name any of the "omg big names" in my own country in the major sports. Sports is something you should do, not watch. But that's just me. The only names I know are the ones that people beat you to death with due to the drama they're generating. I haven't seen a sports' match in years (unless you count eSports, where I sometimes watch games that I also play to see if I can learn anything) and I don't really care for them either.

So yeah... never heard of the guy and never will care for him either. Regardless of what sport the plays. He'll become relevant when he actually does something worthwhile.

He already has.  Which was why there was a book and movie.  Granted, he's no Gandhi, but he's done more with his life than simply survive.

Of course his name doesn't come up in that article.  Ifigured you would have known that story.  They made a movie about it in '93, and all they did was survive.  Which was my point.

I misremembered what Oher did.  I thought he had started a philanthropis foundation for homeless children in da souf, but apparently not.  In addition to mere survival, though, he did work on improving himself.

Errr, in '93 I was 7. I was not very involved in politics and survival documentaries. I mostly watched cartoons.

Does like he managed to make something of himself, though, considering his youth.

After some research I can say that anything with Sandra Bullock in it is not a film.

Hmm.  Fair point.

Hmm.  Fair point.

Fire on the Amazon disagrees.

And, since she won an Oscar for Best Actress in a movie nominated for Best Picture, so does The Blind Side.

d00d, the Oscars are pretty meaningless.  I mean, for reals.  I know I don't check a flick's Oscar cred before I watch it.  I don't care about it's Oscar cred after I watch it, either.  Something tells me you're much the same.  So, I must then conclude that Hollywood ego stroking says quite literally nothing meaningful about a film and therefore the fact that Bullock won a meaningless award for starring in a film that was nominated for a meaningless award means the same.  Though I would totally kick Sandra in ...

So would I.

But The Blind Side is a good movie.  Saying that "anything Sandra Bullock in is just fluff" is like saying the same thing about Cuba Gooding, Jr.  Jerry Maguire and Boyz N the Hood spring to mind to disprove that..

Hurt locker was good tho...

Hurt Locker was ****ing garbage. Ok it wasn't that bad, I really wouldn't mind it if it wasn't for the fact that it was touted as such a realistic movie when it was so far-fetched from reality, even if the guy it was based on really was that much of an idiot.
